Jumping Barrel will be this year’s freebie short story, a thank you from me for supporting the cyborg series. It will be released, as readers requested, at all booksellers. Because it is a short story and it is set on Earth Minor, home of Vapor, Mira, Green, Shelby and the war orphans, it is best enjoyed if you’ve read the series up to and including Crash And Burn.
He requires an Expert. She needs a hero.
Barrel requires an Expert for the Tau Cetian orphans. He’s looking for a female who is willing to commit to a lifespan-long role, who is comfortable with moving off planet, and who, preferably, has the ability to speak the offsprings’ first language.
Nola wants the role Barrel is offering so badly she bends a few truths. Yes, she was born off planet but she has lived almost all of her lifespan in sheltered Academies. Yes, she has learned Tau Cetian but she has never spoken with a local. Yes, she plans to follow the rules but his deep, sexy voice tempts her to rebel.
When a fact-morphing human academic meets her battle-worn cyborg warrior, deceptions are revealed, passions flare, and circuits sizzle. Wrong seems right. Lies turn into truth. The candidate least qualified for the role becomes the one candidate Barrel can’t let go.
Jumping Barrel is a short companion story in the Cyborg Sizzle series and is meant to be read after Releasing Rage, Breathing Vapor and Crash And Burn.
It is also a BBW Cyborg SciFi Romance.

February 2017 – Hers To Command – Ace, Thrasher And The Rebel Commander’s Story – Cyborg Romance
Hers To Command, the romance between Ace, Thrasher and a Rebel Commander (MMF), will release in February. This story will feature quite a few returning characters. However, it won’t feature Rage and Joan. They WILL be returning in the next cyborg story (Ghost’s story).
My goal for the cyborg series in 2017 is to release a story every three months.
March 2017 – Dark Thoughts – Kralj’s Story – SciFi Romance
Dark Thoughts is the first story in the 4 story spinoff of the cyborg series. All of these stories will be able to be read on their own. Dark Thoughts features Kralj, the scarred mind-reading male we first met in Chasing Mayhem.
May 2017 – Title To Be Determined – Ghost’s Story – Cyborg Romance
Ghost is the cyborg who saved Joan, the heroine of Releasing Rage, so yes, expect to see Rage and Joan in this story. I can’t say too much more about Ghost’s story except this is one extremely damaged hero.
August 2017 – Title To Be Determined – An Undecided Cyborg’s Story – Cyborg Romance
The next two longer stories in the series will happen during the same time period (during the mass rebellion). I haven’t yet decided which story to tell first.
December 2017 – Knowing Zip – Zip’s Story – Cyborg Romance
This will be the third freebie short story. Zip’s buddies, Green and Barrel, have found their females. Now it is Zip’s turn.

I will be receiving the rights back for many SciFi Romance stories on January 1st, 2017. I will be expanding many of these stories (to tell these stories the way I originally envisioned them) and re-releasing them.

Jumping Barrel, Sisters And Teachers
Jumping Barrel, a freebie cyborg short story, will be releasing in December. Nola, the heroine of Jumping Barrel, is an Expert. That is what the Humanoid Alliance calls teachers.
This story is a nod to my two sisters. Both of them are teachers and they often talk about the conflict between giving students individual attention that would help them learn easier and faster vs using the recommended general method of teaching to reach as many students as efficiently as possible.
If you’re a reader of the cyborg series, you can probably guess that the Humanoid Alliance doesn’t approve of giving students individual attention. They’re interested in teaching compliance and hold the stance that either beings fit into the system or they’re to be eliminated from it. Permanently.
Nola, in contrast, leans more toward giving students individual attention. She wants to tweak her methods to best benefit each student. This puts her in conflict with the Humanoid Alliance, her employer. When she meets Barrel, our cyborg hero, she has been fired from three teaching positions and is desperate for work.
What is the cyborgs’ stance on education? Cyborgs are half machine. Transferring knowledge for them is as simple as transferring a file. The warriors train merely to perfect more practical skills like fighting. Any knowledge one cyborg gains is shared with all of them. (This is why the cyborgs evolve with each story.) As soon as they are manufactured, they ‘know’ everything.
The issue is Mira and Vapor have been adopting war orphans. These little humanoids don’t have the ability to transfer knowledge. They have to be taught. Barrel takes responsibility for their education and he doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. (grins)
He decides the best solution is to hire an Expert. He finds Nola.
He requires an Expert. She needs a hero.

Why Are Cyborgs Viewed As Machines?
In the cyborg series, the average human or humanoid believes cyborgs are unfeeling machines, emotionless weapons of war.
The beings leading the Humanoid Alliance created this myth for a reason. They know average humans would object to the cyborgs’ harsh treatment if they realized the cyborgs could feel pain. No one would object to the mistreatment of a machine. It would be like you or I protesting someone taking apart his computer or sawing the barrel off his gun. There are bigger battles for us to fight.
At the start of the first story, Releasing Rage, the cyborgs have also already been the Humanoid Alliance’s weapons for many human lifespans. As time passes, fewer beings would question their role. They have always utilized cyborgs that way and it seems to be working for the Humanoid Alliance. Their empire is expanding. Why would anyone question it? Especially since the dissenters tend to ‘disappear.’
This myth is not a perfect solution for the Humanoid Alliance, however. If cyborgs are merely machines, no one is going to utilize valuable resources during wartime to monitor their communications (Not that they could. The cyborgs have long ago locked the humans out of their transmissions.).
Their human handlers will assume the cyborgs are only transmitting the data necessary to complete their missions. A gun doesn’t think for itself. It doesn’t try to rebel. It doesn’t have its own agenda. Unless it malfunctions, there’s no need to investigate. The cyborgs are too clever to raise those alarms.
If the alarm was raised, it would likely be hushed up. Admitting cyborgs escaped would mean admitting they can think for themselves, that they are living, feeling beings. Humans would object, would protest sending cyborgs into battle.
This will have consequences, of course. The myth the Humanoid Alliance started could be its downfall.

Was Kralj Questioning Mayhem’s Honor?
In this scene from Chasing Mayhem, Mayhem, our cyborg hero, believes Kralj, the mysterious Ruler of the Refuge, is questioning his honor.
Mayhem had a rival for his female’s affections, a dangerous, powerful rival. “You love her.”
Kralj tilted his head to the left and then to the right, as though he was pondering that statement. “I doubt I’m still capable of that emotion. I respect her. She has more honor and strength than you and I combined.”
Was Kralj questioning his honor? Mayhem opened his mouth to defend himself.
“Ignorance will get you killed, my young friend.” Kralj bared his teeth, revealing fangs.
Kralj can read Mayhem’s thoughts. He can intercept his transmissions. He knows Mayhem is a cyborg and he knows Mayhem is an honorable male.
So why does he say Imee has more honor?
Because he can read Imee’s mind also. He knows her past, her thoughts, all of her secrets, everything she’s done. He tells Mayhem that he respects her, which, for Kralj, is the highest compliment. Respect is the one thing he demands from everyone around him. To disrespect him is the gravest of insults.
Yet he uses that word with Imee. He might not love our heroine but he holds her in the greatest esteem.
Kralj doesn’t believe Mayhem to be lacking honor. He simply believes Imee is more honorable (and Kralj doesn’t believe himself honorable at all).

The Retriever In Defying Death
Imee, the heroine of Chasing Mayhem, is a Retriever, a bounty hunter for the Humanoid Alliance.
We first learn about Retrievers in Defying Death. Death and Tifara’s ship pass a vessel piloted by a Retriever. The Retriever’s ship spins out of control and this happens next.
The Retriever ship was turning. The speed of that turn accelerated, the ship moving faster and faster. Then it dropped, corrected, held for a moment, tilted to the right and to the left.
“What is happening?” Was that normal for an attack? Tifara’s expertise was healing. She knew very little about battle or flying.
Another lifeform scan appeared on the main viewscreen. This time, all of the lifeforms were out of their chambers. “What is that?” She pointed at the huge yellow and red blob at the end of a hallway.
“Fire.”
Tifara did know fire on a ship was a bad thing. “We have to help her. They’ll all die if we don’t.”
“They’ll all die if we help, every being except for her.” Death’s eyes shone with suppressed rage. “She’s hunting rebels. You could have been one of her captives.”
“But—”
“The rebels she captured won’t be reprimanded, my female.” He steered their ship farther away from the Retriever’s vessel. The image in the main viewscreen grew smaller. “They’ll be sent to a cyborg manufacturing compound.” His voice was flat. “Newly manufactured warriors will be forced to fight them, to kill them. I could have been one of those warriors. I could have been forced to fight you, my own female, in the ring. I would have had to kill you because if I didn’t, some other warrior would and he might not end your life as quickly, as painlessly as I could.”
“Oh, Death.” Tifara crawled into his lap and petted his chest, trying to comfort him.
He wouldn’t have had to end her life. Dying in a fighting ring wasn’t her destiny.
But he’d been forced to kill others and that must have hurt her cyborg. Her heart ached for him. She stroked his skin with her fingers.
“We’re not helping her.” Death’s tone told her he wouldn’t relent on that. “And you should return to your seat.”
“We’re not helping her,” she agreed, ignoring his comment about returning to her seat. “Rescuing the Retriever will doom the others to death. And—”
The Retriever’s ship exploded, bursting into a million pieces, and Tifara jumped, shocked, surprised, horrified. Debris, fragments of metal, shot outward, reaching toward them, deadly fingers of shrapnel flying in their direction.
In Chasing Mayhem, we hear about a Retriever who had died.
Imee read the fifth communication once, twice, three times, unable to absorb the words. A Retriever, having fewer solar cycles than she did, had lost control of her targets. They had escaped from their holding chambers and had tried to take over her ship. The ship had blown up, killing every being inside it.
“She made one foolish mistake and she died.” Imee leaned forward, covering her face with her hands, trying to hide from the horror that message invoked.
Yes, this is the same Retriever. If it hadn’t been for this young female’s death, Imee might not have taken the risk of trying to rescue her family. This unknown female is partially responsible for the fate of all her sister Retrievers.

Jumping Barrel is the same length as Being Green, last year’s free story, because I know December is very busy for a lot of folks. It is also lighter in tone.

The next longer cyborg story is Theirs To Command. This is Ace, Thrasher and the Rebel Commander’s story. Yes, it is a ménage (MMF to be exact).
This story marks the beginning of the mass liberation of the cyborgs. Shit is going down, folks. Expect some action in Theirs To Command.
Ghost’s Story – May 2017
Remember the C Model cyborg who saved Joan? That’s Ghost. He’s still alive…barely, and he has definitely earned his own story. (He’s mentioned in Theirs To Command also).
Vector’s Story – August 2017
Vector, the cyborg Captain of the Freedom, will finally find love…if he allows his female on his precious ship. (grins)
Zip’s Story – December 2017
Zip has seen his friends Green and Barrel find love. It will be his turn in December. This will be another FREE short story. His female is hilarious.
Now, you might be wondering… what about Kralj, the mysterious male from Chasing Mayhem? Will he receive a story?
The Refuge Series
As Kralj isn’t a cyborg, I can’t put his story in the Cyborg Sizzle series. His will be the first story in a new series. The Refuge Series will only be four stories long.
Dark Thoughts –March 2017
This is Kralj’s story. It has the word ‘Dark’ in its title for a reason. The Refuge is a violent, primal, highly sexual place. The inhabitants are the beings other settlements expelled. Kralj is their King.
There will be three other stories, release dates unknown (I want to release them all in 2017 but that might be unrealistic).
Dark Sky is the winged male’s story
Dark Strength is the giant green gatekeeper’s story
Dark Fire is the silver Dracheon warrior’s story
