Dare, the hero of Dark Fire, is a dragon…of sorts. His species can shift into a still humanoid form that has scales and can breathe smoke and fire. Oh, and he has retractable claws!

But it also means he requires a mate sturdy enough to handle him.
The mate he receives is Faylee, a small delicate-looking human.

Dare’s savage nature has made him an outcast among his kind. The silver-scaled Dracheon warrior can’t control his inner beast. It’s too strong. When his primitive instincts told him his destined mate was on Carinae E, he had no choice. He had to travel to the outlaw planet. There, he hoped to meet a female powerful enough to survive his Drache.
He finds Faylee, a delicate little human.
Faylee is the best thief on the planet. Everyone she encounters mistakes her for a young boy…except for a tall, shiny warrior from off-planet. When she gazes into Dare’s flame-filled eyes, he makes her feel, for the first time, like a desirable female. The fire-breathing male has her yearning for hot kisses, fierce embraces, and a future filled with love. She doesn’t realize mating with him might be the last thing she ever does.

Throwback Thursday – Defying Death
I think it is extremely fitting that the first story I’m featuring on this site in October, a month I associate with ghosts and spooky things, has a cyborg hero who named himself Death.

Death does view himself as a bringer of death. He was manufactured to kill and that is all he believes he can do.
Until he meets a curvaceous human medic. She is intent on healing everyone around her…including Death himself.
Defying Death
He’ll risk it all for one moment of happiness.
Cyborgs don’t show emotion. Death learned that lesson early in his long lifespan. To survive, he hides his fierce passions behind a stoic wall. He calls no warrior friend. He never admits to caring for any being.
Even the human female he’s destined to love.
Tifara is Death’s obsession, his sole opportunity for happiness, to express the all-consuming passion burning brightly inside him. He’ll do anything to obtain the curvaceous medic: defy a direct order, abduct Tifara from her battle station, and wage war on his fellow cyborgs.
To earn her love, he’ll have to risk much, much more.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Strength

Throwback Thursday – Dark Thoughts
Kralj, the hero of Dark Thoughts, first appeared in another story (Chasing Mayhem), as a very minor character.
He captured my attention and my heart and I knew I had to write his story.
He’s a self-professed monster. Created as a weapon in a laboratory, his creators almost immediately lost control of him and he was able to easily free himself and others. That’s how powerful Kralj is.
And how dangerous.
Dita looks human. But she will be the first being to admit she’s a monster also.
She recognizes who…what Kralj is. She knows provoking him will likely end in her death.
That doesn’t stop her.

Can love redeem a monster?
The Refuge is home to some of the most violent beings in the universe. Kralj, its leader, reigns over the remote outpost with terrifying ease, ruthlessly squashing any rumors of rebellion, killing anyone who breaks his rules. Primitive, deadly, powerful, he’s a monster, scarred both on his face and his soul. He has never met a being he couldn’t control.
Until he meets her.
Dita has one mission—to kill the three targets claiming sanctuary within the Refuge. Or so she claims. For the first time in his long lifespan, Kralj isn’t certain of another being’s intentions. Claiming Cure is the final story in the cyborg continuum…for now.
I definitely won’t be releasing any new stories in it this year. I don’t know about the future. But I hope to, some day, come back to it.

A proud cyborg medic meets his human match.
