Cyborgs And Expanding Worlds
I’ve been looking at my writing schedule for 2018 and I’m super excited. We’ll, of course, continue the Cyborg series. The warriors might have escaped from the Humanoid Alliance but now, they have different challenges. The Cyborg Homeland is crowded and the Cyborg Council wants to claim more planets. Finding viable planets is the assignment Vector and his crew are given in Choosing Chuckles, our April (at the latest) release.
We will also complete the Dark series in 2018 and we’ll start the expansion and re-release of the Warlord series. These two series, like all of my current SciFi/Cyborg romance series, will be connected. Hulagu, the warrior Kralj is training, is a Chamele, a Warlord in training. The Warlord series is also connected to the Cyborg series. In Seeking Vector, the Humanoid Alliance officers retreat to the Chamele border.
All stories will be written so reading buddies can read their favorite series in isolation (just the Cyborg series or just the Dark series or just the Warlord series) but for reading buddies who read all of my series, there will be characters and storylines crossing series.
Why?
Because all of these characters live in the same universe at the same time. I shared a tiny bit of the universe in Releasing Rage and have been slowly expanding our view of it. There are some exciting worlds and beings we haven’t yet met.
2018 will ROCK! I can’t wait to write these stories and share them with you!

EMPs Vs Being Stunned
Some reading buddies have asked me why EMPs are a huge concern for cyborgs and being stunned isn’t. Cyborgs have always known they were susceptible to being stunned. Why weren’t they worried about that weakness?
Being Stunned
The stun function on guns affects the organic side of cyborgs. They can’t move but they can still transmit, still communicate with their brethren, still monitor their surroundings. To stun a cyborg, the enemy has to shoot the warrior. Cyborgs move quickly, too quickly for many humans to shoot.
Could the Humanoid Alliance design a weapon that stuns all beings situated in a space? Sure. But, as humans and humanoids are organic, they would likely stun themselves also. That’s not optimal. (grins)
EMPs
An EMP (electromagnetic pulse) affects the machine side of cyborgs. They can’t move and they also can’t transmit or monitor their surroundings (other than with their mostly organic auditory system). As an EMP is a pulse, it can cover a large area and it won’t affect humans or humanoids (though it could knock out their weapons or ships).
A couple of reading buddies questioned if it would be possible to extend an EMP’s range to cover the entire universe. I don’t know if that is possible or what the affects would be, but the Humanoid Alliance has ships positioned throughout the universe. All they would need to do is have a coordinated EMP blast for coverage.

This will be Balvan’s story. Yes, the giant green gatekeeper of the Refuge will get his own story. Paloma is NOT his heroine (she’s too young). I am starting this story today and I already love the female destined to be his.

I LOVE secrets. I’m terrible at keeping my own secrets (as I consider almost everyone to be my friend) but I will take the secrets of others to the grave. The sharing of secrets is an act of trust and I would never knowingly betray someone else’s trust.
That’s why I love it, in romances, when couples (or more) finally reveal their secrets to each other. It signals a huge step in their relationship. They are being vulnerable, giving the other person (or being) a possible weapon against them, trusting that other person not to hurt them.
