Throwback Thursday – Containing Malice
Containing Malice is, IMHO, the story most similar to Releasing Rage.
Malice is angry. He doesn’t have hope. He hates all humans, including the female medic forced to experiment on him. He also has a best friend he’d do anything for. And the two of them are desperate to escape the Humanoid Alliance.
It is truly an enemies-to-lovers romance. Malice plans to kill Illona. And Illona fears she’ll be forced to kill Malice.

Malice, a C Model cyborg, has spent his long lifespan enslaved by the Humanoid Alliance. His cruel manufacturers have hurt him in all the ways a male could be hurt.
His enemy has now added a new weapon to their arsenal—a tiny human medic with soft hands and a delectable scent. She experiments on him multiple times a shift, delivering pain…and frustration.
He wants her. He also seeks retribution.
Once Malice frees himself, he plans to achieve both of his goals, taking Medic Illona captive and ending her research…permanently.
Illona is as much a prisoner as the cyborgs she experiments on. Since her arrival at the Human Alliance’s secret laboratory, she has carefully, stealthily, crafted a plot to free her test subjects. To conceal her covert activities, the medic has been forced to harm beings rather than heal them.
The being she has damaged the most is also the cyborg she fiercely desires— Malice, a huge, gray-skinned, blue-eyed C Model with massive hands and a voice deeper than space. He hates her, has good reason to do so, and, when he’s freed, there’s a high probability he’ll kill her.
Illona will take that risk to ensure he survives.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Cure
I write quite a few stories with warrior heroes and heroines. Warriors tend to get injured.
Which means I also write quite a few stories with medic heroes and heroines. (grins)
Dark Cure is one such story. The heroine is a human medic, who believes she’s having a wild one rest cycle (night) stand with a hunky stranger. The hero is an alien warrior (a Chamele), who is determined to claim her. Forever.
A warrior seeking forever faces a medic living in the moment.
Gisella, the Refuge’s medic, is dedicated to her role. She doesn’t have the space in her lifespan for love, a mate, or children. Healing is her entire focus.
But she’s also a female in her prime. She has needs, wants, cravings…especially for a scarred, long-haired barbarian warrior temporarily residing in the settlement. One fierce, soul-blasting, passion-filled encounter is all she is willing to give him before she returns to her duties.
Oghul, a Chamele Warlord’s Second-In-Command, has waited his entire lifespan to find his gerel, the being fated to be his. He’s thrilled to discover she wants him as savagely as he yearns for her.
His little human medic appeals to his primitive possessive side. Greatly. He wants to stamp his ownership all over her bountiful curves, take her back to his home planet, claim his fiery female permanently.

Throwback Thursday – Containing Malice
Malice, the hero of Containing Malice, has been imprisoned in an underground laboratory and has unable to hear the transmissions from his cyborg brethren. He doesn’t realize they are all now free.
For him, time has stopped. The mass cyborg rebellion hasn’t happened.
This is, of course, a nod to the POWs here on Earth who were released long after their wars had ended. The rest of the world had returned to ‘normal’ life. But for them, their wars had continued.

Dark Cure is the final story in the Refuge (Dark Thoughts) series. I think of it as a bridge story to the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series.
Because the hero is a Chamele warrior. Oghul has claws and has a barbarian feel to him. And he is destined to have one genetic match.

If I was to choose a newer cyborg romance release that was most similar to Releasing Rage, I’d pick Containing Malice.
Malice was transferred to an underground laboratory many human lifespans ago. He doesn’t know about the mass cyborg rebellion. He doesn’t know cyborg have genetic matches. He doesn’t know they can manufacture offspring with these genetic matches.
He doesn’t have hope.
Malice merely wants to free himself and his best buddy, Valor, from the torture they’ve been enduring.
At the hands of Illona, the human female he has confusing feelings around. She is another victim of the Humanoid Alliance but he doesn’t yet realize that.
All he knows is he wants to kill her.
He also wants to kiss her.

Dark Cure could have easily resided in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. The hero, Oghul, is a Chamele warrior. He is one of the Warlords’ second-in-command.

I often think of Dark Cure as the final story in the Refuge/Dark Thoughts series and the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. The story officially resides with Dark Thoughts as it starts in the Refuge but it ends in the Chamele Sector.

World Health Day And Medics In Space
There are many medics in my stories and there are reasons for that.
It takes a special type of personality to dedicate one’s lifespan to helping and saving others. Most beings in the medical field are heroes and heroines whether they appear in stories or not.
Cyborgs are also warriors and warriors become wounded or damaged as the cyborgs call it. They require beings who can put their big bodies back together. A medic would be a necessary role on any team. They are, speaking in today’s pandemic terms, essential workers.
In the Rebel Cyborgs series, we meet three medics in Containing Malice, the first story alone.
The heroine, Illona, is a human medic forced to perform horrific experiments on Malice, the cyborg hero. She became a medic to heal others. Instead, she has to hurt them.
Medic Febris, Illona’s friend in the Humanoid Alliance laboratory, is in a similar situation. She is assigned to the terrifying resurrection experiment.
Both Febris and Illona are being experimented on themselves and, being medics, they know what is happening to their bodies and what their fates might be.
The cyborgs have their own versions of medics. We meet Patch, the cyborg retrieval team’s medic, in Containing Malice. He is savvy with repairing cyborgs. The J Model has less experience with healing humans and humanoids and he is willing and eager to learn from Illona.
I’m working on the second draft of Baring Grudge, the third story in the Rebel Cyborgs series, this week and there is a medic minor character in that story also.
Today, I am thinking of all the humans, humanoids and cyborgs (grins), real or literary, in the medical field. (big hugs) I’m grateful for your service.
