B Free And Super Fast Zombies
The Resurrected, the super fast zombie-like beings we first ‘met’ on page in Containing Malice, make an appearance in B Free, the standalone fourth story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in November).
These aren’t the exact same type of warriors as the ones we met in Containing Malice. There have been some advances in the 10 months. They don’t fall apart as quickly or easily. They are stronger, faster, scarier.
And they likely won’t be the final versions of the Resurrected. They are being tested in B Free and…well…you’ll see what happens. (grins)

B is the last remaining B Model cyborg. All of his brethren, the beings he trained with, fought with, cared deeply for, have perished.
Or so he believes.
When he intercepts a communication mentioning the existence of one of his kind, he has to investigate its source. The message could be a trap set by his enemies. He’ll take that risk if it secures him the companionship he requires to be fully functional.
What he finds is a daring brown-eyed female who activates all his systems. She proudly proclaims she’s a researcher, brandishing that information like a weapon before her. He wants to kiss the sass off her beautiful face, protect her from the dangers around them, claim her forever.
Quinn is on a quest to locate the mechanics of an early-version cyborg. She believes the information captured within that frame will give her valuable insights into the past.
When her mission goes zombie-like beings levels of wrong, she comes face-to-face with a living, breathing B Model. He has big hands, a primitive countenance, and stern hard lips crafted for kissing.
She doesn’t trust him. And she doesn’t have time to indulge her desires.
Their shared enemies are chasing them, would kill to get their precious specimens back. One minor mistake could reduce B and Quinn to a mere line in the databases of history.

B Free And B’s Name
Some reading buddies have commented about how it is miraculous that the (believed) last remaining B Model cyborg is named B.
B wasn’t his original name. He called himself Bellicose at first, which was fitting because B, being a cyborg, is always willing to fight. He was manufactured for that primary function.
Cyborgs, however, often refer to their model type when directly addressing others. For example, B might call Grudge C Model. Grudge would call him B Model.
Referring to warriors as their model type isn’t logical when speaking with others. If B called Grudge C Model while talking with Cadet, she wouldn’t know which C Model he was referring to. There are thousands of C Models.
This isn’t the case with B. He is the (believed) last remaining B Model. When anyone refers to a B Model, they are talking about him.
B Model got shortened to B and he gained a new name. B embraces that name, is well aware he now represents all of his model type.
Or so he believes.

B Free And B Models
B, the hero of B Free (releasing in November), is a B Model cyborg.
B Models are HUGE. They are more machine-like and less human-looking than the other cyborgs. Their processors are more primitive. Their communication systems aren’t very advanced. They have problems transmitting large amounts of data, which means very little of their experiences were relayed to their brethren.
Most beings believe no B Models exist. The commonly held view is they were all decommissioned, replaced by the more modern (at the time) C Models.
Only Cadet and the other Rebel Cyborgs know at least one of that model type survived. Power and the rest of the cyborg council aren’t aware B exists.
B believes he’s alone. He is the last of his kind…until he intercepts a communication that implies another B Model might have survived.

The Chronicles Of Riddick (Or My Love Of Vin Diesel )
I love beast heroes, SciFi, and villains turned hero so it should come as no surprise that The Chronicles Of Riddick, a flick combining all three of these, is one of my favorite movies.
We were first introduced to the mysterious super sexy Riddick in Pitch Black. Riddick, played by the yummy Vin Diesel, is a bad ass alien warrior with freaky eyes and a seemingly cold approach to his fellow beings.
He’s not the hero in Pitch Black. He isn’t completely bad but he certainly isn’t a good being (or even a good Furyan). I really enjoyed that The Chronicles of Riddick picks up that storyline, showing the characters years later.
There are two scenes in The Chronicles of Riddick that I absolutely adore.
The first is the scene in the prison on Crematoria. Gehenna 5, in Assassin Mine and Unleashed Menage, is a nod to Crematoria. The ‘Who’s the better killer’ game with Kyra is dang sexy (I’ll never look at tea cups the same way). When Riddick tamed the wild inmate-eating beasts, claiming “It’s an animal thing”, I needed a cold shower. Riddick is the perfect beast hero, primitive, yes, but also highly intelligent.
I also loved the scene when they’re escaping from Crematoria. Kyra is climbing the mountain. The sun is rising. We know she won’t make it, not without help.
Riddick claims to be uncaring yet we see his conflict. If he risks his life to save her, he’ll have to admit he cares and open himself to the possibility of being hurt. He’ll also have a weakness enemies can use against him (which, of course, they do).
It is a character defining moment and because Riddick hasn’t always done what is ‘right’, we’re not quite certain what his decision will be.
I recommend The Chronicles of Riddick to beast fans (if you love Laurann Dohner’s New Species series, this is a movie for you) and SciFi fans.

There WILL Be Spoilers – Please Pre-order Flashes Of Me
You’ll want to read Flashes Of Me on release day. I’ve never said this about any other story (not ONE of my sixty-seven titles). I debated saying this about Flashes of Me but I KNOW some of my reading buddies will be upset with me if I don’t warn them.
If you wait, there will be spoilers posted. It is this type of a story. There will likely be a rush of spoilers posted. Some reviewers will do this accidentally. Some reviewers will be proud of their spoilers, posting it in the first line of their reviews.
Flashes Of Me is approximately two hundred pages long. It is written by me so it is a fast two hundred pages. You won’t want to read reviews until you’ve read the story. When you see the hot pink cover, look away. (LOL – this sounds like a Monty Python skit – Look away! Look away!)
I’ll be promoting my little heart out, trying to ensure that every reading buddy pre-orders a copy (at 99 cents, it is a crazy good deal).
