Holding Hoarse, this year’s thank you gift, is releasing next week. This cyborg romance short story features Hoarse, an ulu-fabricating C Model who keenly wishes to find his female.
Hoarse first appears in Passion Surge, last year’s free short story. Passion Surge is short and sweet and might be a great story to re-read during this busy last weekend in November. This cyborg never expected to become an instant father.

Surge is fascinated with newly manufactured offspring. He has studied them extensively, was one of the few medics present when the very first freeborn cyborg entered the universe.
He’s currently assigned to a battle station with an all-male crew. The probability of tending to an offspring is a dismal 0.0000 percent.
That changes when an unknown ship ventures into the sector they’re protecting.
Nu is an extremely exhausted single mom with a fussy newborn daughter. She has no time or energy for anyone or anything else. That includes a cyborg medic with gentle hands, brilliant blue eyes, and a voice deeper than space.
He claims she’s his female, the one being genetically designed for him. She has heard those types of declarations in the past.
Only a warrior without equal—and some much-needed rest—would prompt this universe-weary mom to believe in romantic love again.

Passion Surge – Father’s Day Pick
Becoming a Father is a dream many of the cyborg’s have and Surge is no exception to this. He helped Rage and Joan’s offspring enter the universe, has been fascinated with babies of all kinds since then.
When Surge meet his female and discovers she has a newborn, he is thrilled…as are many of the warriors on the battle station he has been assigned to. Surge happily claims the offspring as his own.
I think that says so much about the cyborgs. They want to love. When they are given that opportunity, they often don’t hesitate to grasp it. They love that being or beings with all of their huge hearts.

Passion Surge – Weilai’s Sleeping Support
When I saw this bassinet (designed by 4moms) at the CES, I thought of Passion Surge and the sleeping support Surge and his brethren crafted for Weilai, the newest addition to their crew.
This 4moms bassinet has five motions (car ride, wave, kangaroo, tree swing and rock-a-bye), five speeds and four white noises (rain, ocean, fan and a shush). It was an honoree in the CES Innovation Awards.
As per their sign, “4moms has made the ‘4th trimester’ transition from womb to bassinet easier with the introduction of its proprietary motion during sleeping periods. Constant motion is familiar and comforting to newborns, which helps them not only to fall asleep, but also stay asleep longer – giving you and your baby the sleep you both need.”
Nu, our heroine, can attest to that. (grins)

Warlord Reunited
This barbarian warrior’s cold demeanor hides the warmest of hearts.

Cynthia Sax: The thing I fear most as a writer is disappointing readers. I fear this so much I often have trouble writing the next story.
How I work around this is ensuring I have the next story already written before the current story releases. There’s always one story between the most recent story, the one I’m currently receiving reader feedback on, and the story I’m currently writing. That distance allows the words to flow.”

Being A Single Mom To A Cyborg Baby And The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
In most secret baby romances I’ve read, the ‘baby’ is usually a toddler, a 2 or 3 year old child, when the secret of his/her existence is uncovered.
That’s the duration of the couple’s separation.
It is also the duration of Stealth and Zebrina’s separation in The Cyborg’s Secret Baby.
One key difference, however, is… cyborgs mature physically within 1 solar cycle (within 1 year).
This means Zebrina was a single (human) mom the entire time their baby was the physical equivalent of a toddler.
Cyborgs don’t sleep and they are faster than most humans, even when they are babies.
This, alone, makes Zebrina a heroine in my eyes.
