Throwback Thursday – Releasing Rage
Releasing Rage was my first cyborg romance.
I wrote it for myself, because two of my favorite cyborg romance writers were taking a break from their series and I needed a new tale. I also wanted to know WHY cyborgs had rebelled against their manufacturers i.e. the humans.
Those reasons are dark. Releasing Rage IS a dark story.
But it also has humor and love and hope.

Rage, the Humanoid Alliance’s most primitive cyborg, has two goals—kill all of the humans on his battle station and escape to the Homeland. The warrior has seen the darkness in others and in himself. He believes that’s all he’s been programmed to experience.

Joan, the battle station’s first female engineer, has one goal—survive long enough to help the big sexy cyborg plotting to kill her. Rage might not trust her but he wants her. She sees the passion in his eyes, the caring in his battle-worn hands, the gruff emotion in his voice.
When Joan survives the unthinkable, Rage’s priorities are tested. Is there enough room in this cyborg’s heart for both love and revenge?

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – August 31
Moonbeam, the first collection of two previously published alien romances set in the very real town of Moonbeam, Ontario, has released! Woot! I love these stories. That’s why I rereleased them. And I hope you’ll love them also, my friends!
I continue to have massive amounts of fun with my special writing project.

I’m almost done the first novella in it.
But I plan to delay publishing until I have at least four novellas done.
That will give me more flexibility with the plot and with the character development. And it will allow me to set a fairly rapid release schedule.

I continue to get distracted by the new secret writing project. (sheepish grin). I know. I know. I should focus on the first Moonbeam Duet, get that finalized, and THEN play around with the new project.
But the Moonbeam stories have been written. I know what happens in them. I don’t know what will happen with the secret project. And that is so very exciting!

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Return

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Mercy
I love a great villain turned hero story. I also love surprises during the writing of my stories.
Warlord’s Mercy gives me both.
Because Tolui, the hero of Warlord’s Mercy, is the big baddie in the previous stories in the series. I was CERTAIN the Warlord brothers would defeat him…permanently.
I was surprised when Tolui not only survived but insisted on having his own romantic happy ever after.

Tolui has a very strong sense of honor. It is unique to him but it exists. He also had to do some terrible things to protect the beings he cares about.
But he is more like the Warlord brothers than any of them realize.
I love him. Lea, his heroine, (eventually) loves him.
I suspect you’ll love him also.

Other Chameles view him as the enemy.
She sees the warrior hero he never believed he could be.

Tolui is a Warlord in search of a planet to rule. He has been leading his fellow clones in a stealth battle, fighting for both control of the Chamele sector and the right to exist. The brave warriors he commands warrant respect, and they deserve the best.

Zeta doesn’t do forever. After a lifespan of chasing dangerous beings across galaxies, apprehending and trading them for credits, she doesn’t get involved emotionally…with anyone.
Khan might be fierce and sexy and the most dominant male she has ever encountered, but the barbarian is also her target, and once she sates herself with his body, she’ll betray him.
That’s her job.
