Throwback Thursday – Chasing Mayhem
Mayhem, the hero of Chasing Mayhem, is one of the wildest cyborgs I have ever written.
When he was under the control of the cruel Humanoid Alliance, everything in his lifespan was dictated to him. He was forced to follow orders.
Now that he is free, he plans to do whatever he likes.
And one of the things he likes to do, upon meeting our heroine, Imee, is pursue her to the ends of the universe.
Imee, a human bounty hunter of sorts, knows all about pursuing beings. (grins)

Mayhem has spent his lengthy lifespan obeying the Humanoid Alliance’s rules. Finally free from their cruel control, the cyborg warrior plans to cause chaos. He infiltrates a remote settlement, provokes the savage locals until they want him dead, and allows himself to be captured by the sexiest little Retriever he has ever laid his mechanically-enhanced eyes on.
Imee’s sole mission in life is to keep her family alive. To do this, she must hunt rebels, returning them to the Humanoid Alliance’s evil clutches where they will be executed. She doesn’t allow herself to feel anything for her targets…until she meets a tall, muscular cyborg with wild hair and even wilder eyes.
With his sure hands, laughing lips and erotic holds, Mayhem makes Imee’s body sizzle and her resistance melt. Their love is doomed. She must deliver the warrior to his death or she’ll place her family’s safety at risk. But she can’t resist him.
Imee soon discovers that Mayhem, life, and love are never predictable.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Fire
I LOVE dragons. A story featuring a dragon shifter was the very first Cynthia Sax story published. (grins)
So, of course, I would grasp onto any opportunity to write about a dragon-like alien warrior.
Dare is that warrior. He is big, bad, scaled and primitive. When he gets excited, he smokes. In a sexy way.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Strength
Balvan, the hero of Dark Strength, is the BIGGEST hero I’ve ever written about. He is part giant and all protector. He is also the Refuge’s gatekeeper and he takes that role VERY seriously.
As he takes safeguarding the little human female who arrived half dead at those gates VERY seriously. Elyce is his genetic match, the one being he was designed to care for.
And the beings who are abused her are dead. They merely don’t know that yet. (grins)

Throwback Thursday – Dark Thoughts
When Kralj, the rather scary the modified humanoid Ruler of the Refuge, appeared in Chasing Mayhem, I KNEW I had to tell his extremely violent and so very heart-shattering story.
He, like the cyborgs, was designed to kill. Yet, unlike the cyborgs, he couldn’t be controlled.
Because his powers were too tremendous and because his cruel designers isolated him. He had no brethren to protect.
THEN.
He has brethren to protect now. And he does that by killing anyone with his settlement who breaks his rules.
Kralj doesn’t plan to move from that stance.
Even if that means killing the only being who can touch his heavily guarded heart.

The always awesome Veronica Scott crafted a fun article for the Roswell Daily Record. She asked SciFi Romance Writers which stories of theirs didn’t get enough love.
I chose Dark Thoughts, which might surprise lovers of this darker alien-like romance.
But, as I share,
“It wasn’t a cyborg romance, which is what many readers expect from me. And it didn’t fit into the alien romance category as the hero is a modified humanoid. It is also darker in tone because the hero kills frequently and enthusiastically. But it doesn’t fall into dark romance.”

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Return
I originally thought Ariq, the hero of Warlord’s Return, would fall in love with a very different being, a medic who practiced in the Refuge, the settlement featured in the Dark Thoughts/Refuge series.
Ariq wasn’t having any of that. (grins) His attention was immediately snagged by Xareni.
Because…of course, it was. SHE IS AWESOME. Frag. A mini dragon has adopted her. That’s how amazing she is.
Warlord’s Return
Ariq is a barbarian warrior seeking a war.
He locates that battle when he meets Xareni.

Ariq is one of Chamele’s top warriors. A genetic predisposition to fighting, paired with intensive training and experience, has honed the scarred male into an effective killing machine. He loves war, can’t live without combat.
The Succession Wars, however, have finally ended and the Chamele sector is now at peace. Seeking excitement and purpose, the barbarian warrior accompanies his Second to the Refuge, an outlaw settlement on Carinae E. He hopes to locate the battle he’s been craving there.
Ariq finds that conflict and more when he meets his fated mate.
Xareni owes the Ruler of the Refuge a favor. That’s the only reason she has returned to the settlement. She doesn’t like crowds or structures or a certain barbarian warrior who insists on following her everywhere. It doesn’t matter that there’s a connection between them, that he makes her burn with desire, that he looks at her with heat in his dark eyes.
She’s a monster and monsters don’t need anyone.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Mercy
When I started writing The Chamele Barbarian Warlords series, I thought it would end after the third brother found romantic happiness. I thought they would defeat Tolui, the big baddie…permanently. He was slated to die.
I’m SO glad he wasn’t killed because he’s one of my favorite heroes I’ve ever written. He has valid reasons for doing what he’s doing. And he has his own sense of honor.
I love him. And I suspect you might love him also. (smiles)
Other Chameles view him as the enemy.
She sees the warrior hero he never believed he could be.

Tolui is a Warlord in search of a planet to rule. He has been leading his fellow clones in a stealth battle, fighting for both control of the Chamele sector and the right to exist. The brave warriors he commands warrant respect, and they deserve the best.
That best isn’t the barren, dangerous terrain on Chamele 4. When Tolui crashes on that planet’s surface, he’s determined to leave it as soon as possible. The tiny human female rescuing him might be as beautiful and as wild as the land she inhabits, but her flowing words, trusting gaze, and enthralling submission won’t stop him from rejoining the war.
After many solar cycles of living alone, Lea is overjoyed when a tall, scarred, muscular warrior falls from the sky. Her savage stranger is strong and severe, and he makes her feel safe, an emotion she hasn’t experienced in a long, long time.
He also insists they must part. Before they do, she’ll show him the splendor of her home, and she’ll enjoy his big form, collecting passionate moments she can revisit when she’s solitary once more.

Fated mates, couples (or more) destined to be together, rarely part after they meet. They are compelled to be together. They’re happiest when they’re situated near each other. They have no interest in being with other beings.
It would take an extreme situation for them to go their separate ways.
