Throwback Thursday – Choosing Chuckles
Most cyborgs gave themselves names that represent who they are. Chuckles, the cyborg hero of Choosing Chuckles, did the exact opposite. He gave himself a name that represents who he is NOT.
His nanocybotics and the best medics in the universe can’t repair the damage he suffered and he is in constant pain. He’s also quite disgusted with the universe. That makes him grumpy.
He is NOT a being who chuckles.
Until he meets Bettina, the rarely serious human female determined to capture him.

Choosing Chuckles
A Cynical Cyborg Meets A Bad, Bad Female.
Chuckles hates all humans. In the past, humans betrayed him. That treachery caused permanent damage to his muscular form, resulting in a lifespan of pain.
When the primitive D Model cyborg answers a distress call sent by a pink-and-blue haired, sparkly human female, he knows it’s a trap. He still has to respond to her fake cry for help. Bettina, aka Bait, works with a team of females, snaring sexual predators in space, seizing their ships and transporting them to primitive planets. As soon as she speaks with Chuckles, she knows he’s not like the others. He has honor, is a being worthy of respect, of caring.
But she can’t let him go. She has to trap him. His dominance thrills her. His deep voice evokes desires she’d never experienced in the past. She’ll risk it all, breaking every rule for one wild encounter with the male she calls Sir.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – June 15
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I witnessed this cat paying respects to the dead in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Reading buddies have been asking me when I’ll next publish a story.
My friends, I’ll be open with you. With the US Government’s push to abandon copyright laws, I don’t know what the future of publishing will be. No writer currently knows this.
Without copyright laws, anyone could make a copy of our stories and sell them. Stars. Baddies could put all of our stories on their websites and give them away for free.
And that would result in writers and publishers not earning ANYTHING on the stories.
It costs money to produce stories. Editing, covers, formatting all cost money. Writers also like to eat every day. We’re strange like that. (grins)
So I’ll be writing stories for myself for a while and finding alternative means of earning food money until everything is settled.
When will everything be settled?
Likely not until a leader comes forward and says the copyright laws are safe and will continue to exist.
My already published stories are still available, however, at many booksellers. (smiles) I have over 70 of them (if the bookseller lists them all).
And there are other stories by awesome writers to read.
We won’t run out of great SciFi Romances to escape into! And isn’t that amazing?!

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – June 8

Wheeling and dealing in the publishing world slows down during the Summer. People go on vacations and have barbeques and enjoy the great outdoors. I don’t expect to hear much from projects until the Fall/Autumn at the earliest.
And that’s okay. I’m spending time in the garden. And I’m having fun on writing projects I’m engaging in just for me.
Releasing Rage was a writing project I undertook just for me. And that story turned out pretty well. (smiles)

When a savage cyborg arrogantly puts his hard, sexy body within her reach, she does the only thing a female can do—she peppers his muscular physique with projectiles.

Welcome to June, my friends! This is one of my favorite months mainly because it lands close to half way in the year. 2025 is almost 50% over and we’re creeping closer to 2026. I find that very exciting.

I didn’t write much this week. I was spending time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby and in the garden. Everything is growing, growing. The birds sing every morning. The Mafia Squirrels throw peanuts at me and criticize my gardening. (laughs) It is a sliver of paradise in the city.

Throwback Thursday – Seeking Vector
We all have secrets.
Trusting someone else with one of our secrets is an act of trust AND an act of love. We want that someone to know more about us, more than the average person knows. And we believe they will NEVER hurt us with that knowledge.

I love gardening. And I love writing.
One of the wonderful things about loving both of these things and living in the Northern Hemisphere is…
Publishers, agents and other people/entities often slow down during the summer. They don’t look at proposals as quickly. They often don’t sign contracts. At all.
And the summer is when gardening is, for me, the busiest time. I can distract myself from the lack of responses.

The garden is growing. I’m working on writing projects. I hope one of them will find a home soon. And I’m enjoying the warming weather. That warmth doesn’t last very long in my corner of the universe and I cherish every moment of it!
