Throwback Thursday – Dark Thoughts
If you’re in a Halloween-type of mood as I am and you’re looking for a Halloween-themed romance to read, Dark Thoughts would be my pick of all my stories.
Kralj is a modified humanoid and unique but he DOES have a vampire vibe to him. He drinks blood (well…he eats his enemies and blood IS part of that). He can read most minds. He believes he’s a monster.
His human heroine, Dita, believes she’s a monster also. The pint-sized assassin isn’t scared of anyone, including Kralj. She is the sunshine to his darkness and very much his equal.
Can love redeem a monster?
The Refuge is home to some of the most violent beings in the universe. Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Mercy
The Chamele Barbarian Warlords series was originally supposed to be only 3 books long. It would tell the stories of the 3 Warlord brothers. In the final story, they would defeat the big baddie – Tolui – and there would be peace in the Chamele sector (or it would be as peaceful as a sector filled with warriors could be).
The problem was…Tolui wouldn’t die. The d*mn warrior stubbornly and cleverly escaped death again and again. And he showed mercy to his perceived foes during the confrontations. His cause was just.
He was a hero disguised as a villain and he deserved love, a future, a chance at a happy ever after.
I HAD to tell his story and I’m happy I did. It was a story worth sharing.
Other Chameles view him as the enemy.

Tolui is a Warlord in search of a planet to rule. He has been leading his fellow clones in a stealth battle, fighting for both control of the Chamele sector and the right to exist. The brave warriors he commands warrant respect, and they deserve the best.
That best isn’t the barren, dangerous terrain on Chamele 4. When Tolui crashes on that planet’s surface, he’s determined to leave it as soon as possible. The tiny human female rescuing him might be as beautiful and as wild as the land she inhabits, but her flowing words, trusting gaze, and enthralling submission won’t stop him from rejoining the war.
After many solar cycles of living alone, Lea is overjoyed when a tall, scarred, muscular warrior falls from the sky. Her savage stranger is strong and severe, and he makes her feel safe, an emotion she hasn’t experienced in a long, long time.
He also insists they must part. Before they do, she’ll show him the splendor of her home, and she’ll enjoy his big form, collecting passionate moments she can revisit when she’s solitary once more.
Every additional moment Lea and Tolui spend together increases the chance they’ll both die. Lea is being chased by female-hating fiends. Tolui is being hunted by the best bounty hunters in the universe. War will soon arrive on their threshold, and the blood spilled might be their own.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord Reunited
Berke and Elle from Warlord Reunited remind me a bit of Cadet/Eirene Ours and Power. Both of these couples have a lengthy, emotionally-challenging history. Berke and Elle met solar cycles ago. They had a whirlwind relationship, were wildly in love.
Then Berke sent Elle away. He didn’t give her any explanation. She was too proud to ask him for one.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord Unarmed
Warlord Unarmed is one of my sweeter novel-length stories and is a favorite Cynthia Sax book for some of my reading buddies. There’s violence in the story and there are, of course, some extremely steamy scenes but the relationship between Murad and Gale is gentle.
Murad is the most tech savvy Warlord and he prefers to think before he acts. Gale has been hurt in the past and is super cautious. Together, they are magical. They fit.

Then he hears the voice of its sole occupant and his orders and his priorities immediately shift. The captain of the ship is his gerel, the one female he’s genetically compatible with—the light to his darkness, his future, his everything.

Bounty hunter Gale doesn’t want or need protection. She has entered Chamele space on a rescue mission. A tall, muscular, half-naked barbarian with humor-lit eyes and gentle hands won’t distract her from that purpose, no matter what he tries.
A broken ship and an enemy focused on revenge do interfere with her plans. Gale’s goal changes from saving a friend to saving herself. The only being who can increase her chances of survival is the one Warlord she can’t resist.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Bounty
Each of the three Warlord brothers ruling the Chamele sector has their own specialty. Khan, the hero of Warlord’s Bounty, is the warrior. He prefers to take action and he really enjoys killing. Any relationship he has will be extremely physical.
Which suits Zeta, his gerel, as she is also a take action type of being. She’s a bounty hunter determined to capture Khan. What she doesn’t realize is… he WANTS to be captured.

The bigger the bounty, the more dangerous the target.
Khan, a Chamele Warlord, has a huge bounty on his head. His enemy wants him captured and is offering any being in the universe an outrageous number of credits to accomplish that.
Khan wants to be captured, but only if the being apprehending him is a tiny, brown-eyed female with wickedly sharp daggers and an even sharper tongue. His passion for the feisty human can’t be inhibited by restraints. He’ll allow her to subdue him…in a variety of enticing ways.
When she finally collects her credits, he’ll collect his revenge, killing his enemy and claiming his little bounty hunter forever.
Zeta doesn’t do forever. After a lifespan of chasing dangerous beings across galaxies, apprehending and trading them for credits, she doesn’t get involved emotionally…with anyone.
Khan might be fierce and sexy and the most dominant male she has ever encountered, but the barbarian is also her target, and once she sates herself with his body, she’ll betray him.
That’s her job.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord Sky
Warlord Sky is a special story for a number of reasons.
It is the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series.
Warlord Sky features a pilot hero. Many of the heroes in my stories are warriors. Qulpa can fight but he prefers flying.
This story also features a non-human heroine. Nayan, the head of Ship and Weapons Design for Khan, is a Chamele but due to her…challenges, she is extremely human-like.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Cure
I often think of Dark Cure as the final story in the Refuge/Dark Thoughts series and the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. The story officially resides with Dark Thoughts as it starts in the Refuge but it ends in the Chamele Sector.
Gisella, the heroine, is the Refuge’s Medic. She scares the sh*t out of many of the modified humanoids. (grins) They don’t mess with her.
Oghul, the heroine, however, can’t resist messing with her. She is his gerel, his fated mate. And he is determined to talk with her, touch her, claim her.
That doesn’t exactly go smoothly. (grins) But Oghul kind of likes that. He loves a challenge and Gisella is definitely that.

Gisella, the Refuge’s medic, is dedicated to her role. She doesn’t have the space in her lifespan for love, a mate, or children. Healing is her entire focus.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord Unarmed
Warlord Unarmed has the distinction of being the favorite Cynthia Sax story for some beloved reading buddies. (big hugs) It is the sweetest story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series (and perhaps of all my stories).
At the beginning of the story, the Chamele Sector is ruled by three Warlord brothers.
Murad, the hero of Warlord Unarmed, is the tech-savvy middle brother of the three. He is a Warlord in his own right but he doesn’t rely solely on his muscles and his fighting skills. Murad uses gadgets and high-tech weapons to supplement his other strengths.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Bounty
Warlord’s Bounty was originally the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. Khan, the battle-loving Warlord brother, was the first character I ‘met.’ All the other heroes in the series are named after Mongolian Khans. Khan is named after the role.
