Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – April 28

By Cynthia Sax on April 28, 2024

This black and white cat was sleeping in the middle of a busy (and dirty) sidewalk in Casablanca, Morocco. Everyone was careful to step around her. Every so often she would roll onto her back and allow someone to give her a few belly rubs.

(grins)

Cats are the same the world over, aren’t they?

Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in July), has been sent to my awesome formatter (the Dear Wonderful Hubby)! Woot! I love this story and I think you’ll enjoy it also.

I’m now focused on writing the first draft of Claiming Cure, the third core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in November). As always, this first draft will be completed slowly. (sheepish grin) I’m such a slow writer but hey, I get stories written. That is the only thing that truly counts!

Have a wonderful week, my friends. (big hugs) Rub a cat’s belly if you’re granted that honor. Feel the softness against your fingertips. And revel in the realization that you’re one of the rare chosen ones!

Strike Zone

A cyborg devoted to duty…and to her.

***

While attending a party, Kesser, the daughter of her planet’s leader, witnesses the abduction of her best friend and her best friend’s mate.

She’s determined to rescue them. Preferably without fracturing the fragile peace agreement her mom has crafted with the abductors’ planet.

The only issue is…she has never participated in a retrieval mission.

Searching for assistance, she approaches the mate’s guard. The male, with his big broad shoulders and deep growly voice, affects her like no other being ever has.

Kesser wants him. She trusts him. And she requires his stealth combat skills.

Desperately.

Strike is no guard. The D Model cyborg has been sent to the sector to discreetly investigate a potential planet-destroying situation.

When a curvy human female with big brown eyes requests his help with a rescue, he doesn’t hesitate to say yes. She’s his genetic match, the one being he was manufactured to protect.

She’s also traveling to the next planet he has to search. He plans to claim his female while he fulfills his responsibilities to his kind.

Neither Strike nor Kesser realizes the dangers facing them are far greater than they imagine. Their enemies are converging, and one failed mission could doom the entire universe.

***

Strike Zone is a standalone, mistaken-identity, Cyborg SciFi Romance set in a dark, gritty, sometimes-violent universe.

It features a cyborg warrior with a finely honed sense of honor, a human support being taking on her first dangerous mission, and an evil that threatens everyone in existence.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – April 21

By Cynthia Sax on April 21, 2024

This cat was spotted in Casablanca, Morocco. He is protecting a scrap of paper. I don’t know what is written on it. He wouldn’t allow me to see it. It will remain one of his many secrets. (smiles)

Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in July), is almost ready to be sent to the formatter aka the Dear Wonderful Hubby. I love this story. It will tug at your heartstrings while getting your heart pumping. (grins)

Before I send Drift Would to the Dear Wonderful Hubby, I have to look at the unedited excerpt for Claiming Cure (releasing in November) a few more times.

Then I’ll add it to the end of Drift Would. And once the Dear Wonderful Hubby has made the story pretty, it will be loaded to booksellers.

Have a wonderful week, my friends. (big hugs) Enjoy an in-season vegetable or fruit. Inhale its scent. Let its taste linger on your tongue. We are so fortunate to have a variety of produce! Our planet is amazing!

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – April 14

By Cynthia Sax on April 14, 2024

The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this gorgeous cat in Casablanca, Morocco. Look at how fluffy he is!

I’m expecting the second round of edits for Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in July), this week!

My Awesome Editor called one of the scenes in this story ‘poignant.’ And that’s an appropriate description for that scene. The heroine feels she will soon die and takes on a save-the-world type of mission that, she assumes, will doom her and her entire team.

I think of Drift Would as my Rogue One story. Except with a romantic happy ever after for two of the participants. (grins)

Have a wonderful week, my friends. (big hugs) Dance in the rain if you have that opportunity. Save a worm. Listen to the birds sing. Inhale the fresh air.
