Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 26th

I received a gazillion romance novels as gifts from my eldest brother. Reading those books and spending time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby are the only two items on my to-do list this upcoming week. (grins) Yep, life is good.

This past week, I wrote a few more chapters in the first draft of Provoking Odium, the first story in the upcoming Cyborg Unity series (releasing in June). I’m excited about this story. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Cyborg Unity

I’ve decided upon a series name for the next part of the cyborg saga (starting with Provoking Odium in June).

The name of the new series will be Cyborg Unity. (grins)

Yes, that’s a hint as to what will happen in Seizing Power (releasing in February) between the two cyborg factions.

Amanda Kelsey, my amazing cover artist, has designed the above symbol for this series. I love it. It has a balanced, yin and yang feel to it, yet is very much SciFi. This symbol will appear on the covers of the books in this series.

Cynthia Sax Upcoming Releases

I have a tentative release schedule for 2022. It is tentative because that alien romance idea is still floating around my brain and I might write it between two of the cyborg romances. That means release dates might change but the order of the new series will remain the same.

I am SUPER excited about these upcoming releases. I can’t wait for you to read Seizing Power in February. I love this story and I think you’ll enjoy it also.

I’m getting excited about Odium’s story also. I suspected Odium had some hidden damage but I didn’t realize the depth of this cyborg warrior. He constantly surprises me…in a good way.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 19th

I’m still working on the first draft of Provoking Odium, the first story in the new cyborg series (releasing in May). I’ll be writing this first draft for a while. (grins) It will take longer than usual due to the holidays. I plan to spend some focused time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby at the tail end of December.

I received the first round of revisions for Seizing Power, the fifth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in February), from my Awesome Editor. She likes the story! Woot! There is work to be done, of course. There always is. But it is on track for its release date.

Bergdorf Goodman Window Inspiration

The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were in New York City recently and I found the windows at Bergdorf Goodman so very inspirational. (grins)

I thought they might serve as inspiration for my writing and reading buddies!

This ‘world’ is dominated by birds and insects. Look at the exciting diversity!

This ‘world’ is blue and sparkly and has a hint of space with the planets, the moon, the astrological signs.

Look at this wonderful cat ‘world’! The expressions on their cute little faces are wonderful.

Of course, we can’t have a cat world without a dog world. I like how the monochrome color scheme emphasizes the different shapes and forms of the doggies.

I love how the artist didn’t go for the obvious blue for the fish world. The purples give the impression of great depth.

And finally, we have this swirly psychedelic red and white world with a music theme.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 12th

I have finally decided which story I’ll write next! Woot! This week, I started writing Provoking Odium, the first cyborg romance in the next grouping of cyborg stories (releasing in May 2022). I’m super excited about this story. It grabbed me by the muse and wouldn’t let go.

Seizing Power, the fifth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in February), remains with my Awesome Editor. I expect to get it back sometime this week. I suspect there will be some DEEP revisions on it. It is such an important story and I want to ensure I do it justice.

Quinn, the heroine of B Free, is a researcher, a variation on an archeologist. She excavates the terrain inhabited by older civilizations, looking at what those beings left behind for clues as to how they lived.

While writing B Free, I spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I’d leave behind. My stories might exist for a while. That would be wonderful. But I’d be pleased if my legacy was merely making a few reading buddies happy and maybe inspiring someone to write their own cyborg romances.

More Containers

These containers, displayed in the Altos de Chavon Regional Museum of Archaeology in La Romana, Dominican Republic, were likely brought to the area on ships from Spain.

I think Quinn, the heroine from B Free, would love them. She couldn’t read them as they aren’t metal but she’d find them interesting.

I loved the color of this container. It was large. I would have to use both arms to hold it.

This container was much smaller…is the size of a large beer stein. I could envision the cyborgs drinking fermented beverage out of it.

This container is about the same size as the first one. I liked the warping of it.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 5th

Seizing Power, the fifth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series, remains with my Awesome Editor. I hope she loves it as much as I do. (crosses fingers)

I did a whole lot of nothing this past week and it was glorious. (grins) I slept in. I spent time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby and other loved ones. I completed some light writing business tasks but nothing too intense.

And I dreamed. Quite a bit. I dreamed of future stories, of cyborgs and brave, daring heroines and yes, I dreamed a bit about aliens.

I still haven’t decided whether to write Odium’s story or the standalone alien romance that has been haunting me next. If I write the alien romance, Odium’s story will likely release in June instead of in May.

Have an absolutely wonderful week, my friends. (snuggly hugs) Sleep in if you can. Sip on a favorite beverage. Browse your virtual or physical bookshelves. Revisit your favorite book characters. Remember how you felt when you met them for the first time—that joy, that happiness, that love.

2022 Upcoming Releases

But I also have a great idea for a truly standalone alien romance. And that idea won’t let me rest. So I MIGHT write it before I write Provoking Odium.

I have exciting stories to write but no release dates yet. I will know those release dates in January…hopefully. (grins)
