Half Man. Half Machine. All Hers.
Rage, the Humanoid Alliance’s most primitive cyborg, has two goals—kill all of the humans on his battle station and escape to the Homeland. The warrior has seen the darkness in others and in himself. He believes that’s all he’s been programmed to experience.
Until he meets Joan.
Joan, the battle station’s first female engineer, has one goal—survive long enough to help the big sexy cyborg plotting to kill her. Rage might not trust her but he wants her. She sees the passion in his eyes, the caring in his battle-worn hands, the gruff emotion in his voice.
When Joan survives the unthinkable, Rage’s priorities are tested. Is there enough room in this cyborg’s heart for both love and revenge?

Cyborgs And Violence
Cyborgs were designed as weapons. Their number one reason for being is to kill the enemy (as decided by the Humanoid Alliance). The cyborgs’ machine side is programmed for dealing out death, their mechanics honed for battle. Their human side is bred to be hyper aggressive and not-at-all sensitive.
As Rage mentions in Releasing Rage, when cyborgs are fighting and breeding as they’re designed to do, they’re happy. It gives them satisfaction. (Rage is also good at fighting and that is a source of pride for him.)
Cyborgs have honor. They don’t kill simply to kill. They prefer to battle a being who is, in their eyes, ‘bad.’, either dishonorable or a threat to beings they care for. If the enemy is honorable, cyborgs try to limit their pain, ending their lifespans quickly. Rage’s view of the Homeland is a place where he decides whom he will battle.
Would A Cyborg Kill A Female?
One of the most common questions I’m asked is ‘Would Rage have killed Joan?’
Rage is many things but he’s not a sexist (unlike the Humanoid Alliance council members and the beings on his battle station). He has fought species that send their females into battle. He had to kill these females or he would have died. He saw how females could be as or even more competent and skilled in warfare as males. Rage respects their power and their strength.
If Joan had been a dishonorable human, mistreating Rage and his brethren, he would have ended her lifespan.
Exceptions
Cyborgs are half human and, as we all know, genetics isn’t perfect. There are cyborgs, like Crash, who don’t like to fight. They’re good at it. They’ve been manufactured that way. And while they are under Humanoid Alliance control, they have no choice. They have to kill the enemy or be decommissioned. But they don’t enjoy it.
This is challenging for them. Crash knows he’s different, not like the other cyborgs. He doesn’t quite fit in.

Star Trek And Snarktember
I’m talking about Star Trek and Cyborgs for Snarktember at Snarky Mom Reads.
http://www.snarkymomreads.com/
Here’s a snippet…
Let’s ‘boldly go where no man has gone before.” On this day in 1966 (long before I was born), Star Trek premiered on U.S. television.
Star Trek is an inspiration to those of us who never get things right on the first try. The original pilot was rejected by NBC. The second pilot was accepted but ratings were so poor for the show, NBC threatened to cancel it during the second season. A letter writing campaign saved it…temporarily. It was canceled after the third season.
Reruns, however, gradually built a cult following for Star Trek. Today, it is a multi-billion dollar industry. It has inspired many modern inventions including handheld mobile phones. Star Trek was also one of the first shows to feature a multicultural cast.
As a SciFi erotic romance writer, Star Trek has certainly changed my life.

Talking Cyborgs And Billionaires
I’m at Tina Donahue’s blog today, talking about why I love writing about both cyborgs AND billionaires.
http://www.tinadonahue.com/?p=14646
Here’s a snippet..
One of the many reasons I love Tina Donahue so much is because we both can’t seem to stick to one subgenre of romance. (grins) Tina’s previous release, Wicked Seduction, is a spicy contemporary. Her upcoming release, Surrendering To The Beast, which I’m super stoked about, is an exciting paranormal.
Releasing Rage is my most recent release. It is a sizzling hot, very dark SciFi erotic romance featuring a tortured cyborg hero and a determined curvaceous female engineer. My previous release, One Night With My Billionaire Master, is a delicious contemporary erotic romance.
Yes, Tina feels my pain. Or my joy.

The Darkness In Releasing Rage
I’m at The Galaxy Express today, talking about Releasing Rage and dark erotic romance.
http://www.thegalaxyexpress.net/2015/09/guest-post-by-cynthia-sax-releasing.html
Here’s a snippet…
Releasing Rage is a dark story. It IS a romance. It has the expected romance ending. But it is also gritty and violent, which is unusual for me, but I couldn’t write a cyborg hero any other way.
Why?
Because cyborgs are (normally) designed by humans to be super soldiers. That’s their sole purpose. They don’t have hobbies or other interests. They can’t take different roles within the organizations they serve. They’re soldiers. They battle the enemy and that’s it.

Interview With Rage from Releasing Rage
Kate Hill has interviewed Rage from Releasing Rage on Compelling Beasts today.
He’s a primitive C model cyborg, not one for chatter, so it is a very short interview. (grins)
Here’s a snippet…
Do you have a love interest?
There is one human female, Joan, whom I might allow to live longer than the rest. She… interests me. When I see her, smell her, touch her, my human side says she is mine.
But when she betrays me, as all humans do, she’ll die.
If you wish to ask him any questions, he’ll answer them.
Note: Cyborgs don’t lie and words are not Rage’s forte. Expect brief and to-the-point answers.

Cyborgs And Nudity
When Joan first meets Rage in Releasing Rage, he’s completely naked. He feels no shame about this. He’s accustomed to being bare, to being poked and prodded. The humans who manufactured him treat him like a weapon to be used, like a machine.
Machines don’t feel modesty. They’re taken apart and put back together, without any thought about their feelings. Excess clothing is impractical and viewed as unnecessary. It slows repairs and inhibits movement.
Rage, being an older cyborg, is aware that Joan, being human, is embarrassed by his nudity. At first, he doesn’t care about her feelings. He hates all humans. It gives him pleasure to embarrass her.
It gives Rage even more pleasure to humiliate her by demanding that she strip naked also. He does want to see all of her (he IS male) and he likes that they’re on equal footing. But he also derives some joy from her discomfort.
The younger cyborgs aren’t as angry as Rage is. They’re simply clueless. They’ve spent most of their lifespans naked and have no idea that this might be wrong. They don’t even have regular clothing. They have battle armor, which is uncomfortable to wear all the time, and nothing else.
What does this mean? You can expect quite a bit of nudity in future stories. Human heroines will not only see their heroes in the buff but they’ll see all of his friends naked also.
And the heroes won’t view that as wrong.

Releasing Rage and Writing What We Want
I’m at Decadent Divas today, talking about cyborgs and writing what we want!
Here is a snippet…
“My advice to all writers is to write what you’re passionate about and not worry as much about what publishers want.
My advice to all readers is if a writer is super enthusiastic about one of her stories, there’s usually a reason why. That story is worth investigating.”

Releasing Rage – Glued To This New Series
Yay! We have another great review for Releasing Rage.
This review is even more special because it comes from a non-SciFi reader!
Allisia at Defying Tradition shares
“This is the first SciFi cyborg book I have ever read. Truth be told when I first read the description I laughed and said, “nope, not for me.””
“I was laughing at myself because here was a book I didn’t think I would ever be interested in and I couldn’t put it down.”

Here’s a snippet…
1. If a writer is passionate about a book, the book is more likely to sell well.
I’m super passionate about Releasing Rage, my latest release, a sizzling cyborg SciFi erotic romance. Because I’m excited about this story, I talk about it ALL THE TIME. I talk about it when I should be promoting other stories. My enthusiasm is contagious. Reading, reviewing and blogging buddies get excited too.
Readers, if you see a writer is super enthusiastic about a story she’s written, that story might be one to put on your to-be-read pile. There’s a reason why the writer thinks this story is special.
