Throwback Thursday – Dark Arsenal
Dark Arsenal is a free short story, a thank you to regular readers. It assumes you’ve read some of the Dark Thoughts/Refuge series and some of the Cyborg Sizzle (first) series.
The heroine is Vicuska, the human rebel agent we first met in Dark Fire. The hero is Arsenal, the cyborg warrior we first met in Knowing Zip. Both of these warriors believe they will die on their mission.
They never projected they would find love.
A cyborg warrior and a Rebel female’s first mission together might be their last.
Arsenal considers himself to be a disposable cyborg. He drifts from assignment to assignment, forming no connections to anything or anyone. When the cyborg council requires a warrior for a high-risk mission, Arsenal volunteers. He believes no one will miss him if he dies.
He doesn’t realize he’s one female’s fantasy.
The moment Vicuska glimpses Arsenal’s image, she knows he’s the male she wants to spend her last moments in the universe caressing. The Rebel female craves the cyborg’s grim-lipped kisses, desires the touch of his hands, hears his deep voice in her dreams.
Their mission will end in explosions and death. That is certain if they fail or if they succeed. Whether or not they’ll find love during their dangerous assignment is the unknown.

Throwback Thursday – The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby is a nod to the very real life secret baby romances that occurred during WWI, WWII and other early before-communications-improved wars. Couples (or more) would have some fun (grins) right before one or more of them left for war and that fun would have cute little consequences.
I, of course, respect and admire the warriors who left home to fight for their countries. I have as much respect and admiration, however, for the (usually) women who raised their children on their own, not knowing if their warriors would return. They’re heroines and I was thinking of them when I wrote this story.
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
A fierce cyborg warrior and his curvy human female share a no-longer-so-little secret.
Stealth, a K Model cyborg, knows his passion for Zebrina, the commander’s human daughter, is forbidden, yet he can’t resist the curvy female. He craves her touch, cherishes her sounds of pleasure, would do anything to keep her safe.

Throwback Thursday – Taking Vengeance
Seizing Power, the fifth and final core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in February), will feature Power, the self-appointed leader of the Cyborg Council.
Vengeance is the C Model representative on the Cyborg Council. He will definitely make a brief appearance in Seizing Power. Vengeance’s story is Taking Vengeance. This is a true enemies-to-lovers romance. Astrid, his female, tries to blow Vengeance up…multiple times.

Taking Vengeance
The only force stronger than their hate is their love.

When the huge C Model cyborg is told he’s genetically compatible with the enemy, he makes it his mission to capture the female and use her to expel all humans from his home planet. That should be disappointingly easy. She’s a weak, fragile human.
Then she blows up his ship, blasting to bits his preconceived notions about the enemy.
Astrid, aka the Buoir Berserker, hates all cyborgs. They killed her entire clan, including her baby sister. The warrior female has vowed to hunt down and destroy the enemy. When a savage cyborg arrogantly puts his hard, sexy body within her reach, she does the only thing a female can do—she peppers his muscular physique with projectiles.
The more passionately they fight, the stronger their attraction becomes. Neither of them will relent on their missions, yet they can’t keep their hands off each other. Their battle will either end in love to last an eternity or in death.

Throwback Thursday – Seeking Vector

Ghost is one of my all time favorite cyborgs. He has been through so much. He tried to save beings and failed to do so and that broke him emotionally. This cyborg warrior is dealing with tremendous trauma and stars, that pulls on my heart.
Lethe knows about being broken. She has dealt with harshness and is strong enough to stand toe-to-toe with Ghost’s inner demons.
The two of them are magical together.

Cyborgs have genetic matches. These ‘fated mates’ can be male or female or a wide range of other (there are many species in the cyborg universe and many types of other). It is very rare that cyborgs have more than one destined being.
Ace and Thrasher, the heroes of Hers To Command, are two of these special warriors.

The Battle Against Earth Steve
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spent most of yesterday trying to reduce the spread of a super aggressive vine over our back and front yard. I love vines but this particular one is strangling every bit of vegetation in its path. It is even killing the dandelions and I didn’t think anything could do that.
We jokingly call this vine Steve, naming it after Steve, the all-powerful sentient plant on Balazoid Minor (he appears in North Bound). Thankfully Earth Steve isn’t as bloodthirsty or as arrogant as the original. He IS as dominant, however. (grins)
Will we win the battle against Earth Steve? No. Not a chance. He is everywhere. We’re merely trying to give the other plants a chance to live.

Bonding Ceremonies – Chasing Mayhem
The celebration of marriages and other unions during this wonderful month of June wouldn’t be complete without the bonding ceremony found in Chasing Mayhem. The exchange of armlets and words play an important role in Imee’s culture and in her story.
Here is a snippet from Chasing Mayhem…

“I’m never releasing you.” He reached under the pile of body armor. “I’ve decided to bind you to me for all eternity.”
“No more games.” She pulled on the restraints. “I—”
He held out two silver-colored armlets, one small, one large, and she stopped talking, stunned. The gear-and-cog design was unique, intricate, beautiful.
But it was his words paired with his choice of gift that caused tears to prick her eyes and a ball of emotion to form in her throat. He wanted to bind their souls forever.
It was one of her secret wishes, a dream she held close to her heart.
“Don’t you dare joke about this, Mayhem.” She wouldn’t survive it.
“I’m serious.” And he did appear that way, his lips flat. “They’re manufactured from my mechanics, some of the most durable substances in the galaxy.”
He’d put a piece of himself in the armlets. Her vision clouded. “You fool. You shouldn’t have done that.” It must have hurt him.
“My nanocybotics replaced them.” He shrugged. “Our lifespans will be long. My mechanics were the logical choice.”
She suspected his decision had involved more than logic. “If we do this, our souls will be entwined until time ends.”
“They already are, my female.” He snapped the smaller armlet around her left biceps. “I give to you my soul for safekeeping. It is yours. In this lifespan and the next. Guard it well for I have no other.”
He had studied and learned the binding words. Imee stared at the armlet, unable to speak. His nanocybotics bubbled inside her. She wore his armlet, a symbol of his soul.
He’d always be with her. She would never be solitary.

Hers To Command And Wedding Anniversaries
June is the month I most associate with weddings so I thought it would be fun this month to revisit some of the wedding-like scenes from my stories.
In Hers To Command, two of Carys’ crew members are celebrating the 5th anniversary of their bonding ceremony. Carys, Ace and Thrasher make a brief appearance at the party.
Here’s a snippet from that scene…

“Commander.” One of those Ungarian males depicted rushed forward, the other male following him. “We’re so glad you could come.” He reached out his hand.
Ace and Thrasher stepped closer to their female.
The male’s gaze flicked to them and his hand lowered.
“I…” Their Carys paused, “We only have a moment, but we wanted to convey our congratulations on this special planet rotation.”
She used the word we, including them in her plans. Thrasher grinned at Ace.
“The five moons have smiled on you and your mate.” She switched to Ungarian, her growls painfully stiff. “We wish you many more moons of happiness.”
Thrasher searched his databases. That was the formal felicitations for an Ungarian pair who were celebrating five solar cycles of togetherness, an important milestone in the culture.
He glanced at the beaming males. Ungarian pairs consisted of one male and one female. These were two males.
They are defective also, Ace transmitted what Thrasher was processing.
Yet our female accepts their bond. Thrasher read the genuine happiness on their female’s face. She celebrates it.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without you, Commander,” the more verbal Ungarian male gushed, hugging the other officer. “If we were on Ungaria, our bonding wouldn’t have been recognized at all.”
“But you’re not on Ungaria. You’re on my battle station and I recognize your bonding.” Their Carys’ tone bordered on arrogance. “Your crew members recognize it also. They wish to celebrate with you.”
