Muse Food – Brightly Colored Birds And What We Notice
There were a gazillion birds all around us when the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I last visited Curacao. It was magical. That was how many there were.
But, although he was hidden in the trees, we noticed this Venezuelan troupial right away.
Why?
Because of his brightly-colored chest. He stood out.
When I’m describing places or beings or other entities in my stories, I ask myself, “Why do they stand out? Why would another being notice them?” And THAT is what I ensure I include in my description.

Intrepid Encounter
Cyborg vs. Valkyrie

The male might…just might…have battle skills matching her own. And that excites the immortal fighter. She craves his rough handling, his punishing embrace, his stern words.
But Olrun’s desire for the cyborg won’t distract her from achieving her goal. She will shield her fellow Valkyries from danger, even if that means ending Intrepid’s lifespan in the process.

Muse Food – A House Of A Different Color

I love how the buildings are all different designs and all different colors.
If buildings can be this varied, our characters can be as unique.
For minor characters, especially those we only spend a page or two with, I usually focus on one major difference. That’s often enough to make them truly special.

This cyborg seeks to vanquish an ancient entity and save his curvy human female.
Euryale made a terrible mistake. She opened a container she shouldn’t have touched and released one of the oldest lifeforms in existence. That all-powerful entity is now utilizing her as its host and is slowly draining her energy.
Soon, she’ll die.
Euryale has accepted this fate and is determined to use her remaining moments in the universe to save as many lives as she can.
Her plans do NOT include a smoldering hot, poetry-wielding cyborg willing to decimate entire planets to save her.
While under the control of the Humanoid Alliance, Strive, a K Model cyborg, disobeyed direct orders and refused to kill on their behalf. If he hadn’t escaped their cruel clutches, his defiance would have led to his death.
The male knowingly risked that fate to save the lifespans of complete strangers.
There is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect Euryale. The curvy human female is his genetic match, the one being he is destined to defend.
And she is in danger.
Strive would break every vow, cross every boundary, risk absolutely everything to keep her from harm.
Including battle a deity no one has ever defeated.

Muse Food – Hearts And Love Locks
One of the (many) things I enjoy adding to my stories is symbolism.
Taytu, from Raw Desires, as an example, tends to touch her wrist decoration when she is thinking of her mother. The wrist decoration is a symbol of her mother and her culture.
The heart shape we currently attributed to romantic love is a symbol also. There are some heated (grins) discussions about the origin of the heart shape but we do KNOW it isn’t the shape of the heart in our chests. The heart shape has been used by so many people for so long, at this point of our existence, that it is viewed by many of us to represent love.
Love locks, as seen above on Punda Love Heart near the Queen Emma Bridge in Willemstad, Curaçao, also symbolize love. The lock conveys that this love is unbreakable. It is lasting.
Symbolism can really strengthen a story. I love using it!

Raw Desires
His human female is attempting to kill him.
This cyborg finds that adorable.
Raw, a K model cyborg, is one of the lucky warriors who has located his genetic match. He hears his human female’s voice over the communication lines and immediately processes she is his.
Winning her affections will be a greater challenge. Battle has always been Raw’s focus. The rough-and-tough warrior has no idea how to engage anyone’s tender emotions.
Fortunately, he isn’t alone in the universe. His unmatched male friends help him craft a plan.
All Raw has to do is relay a few unsettlingly sweet words to his female and give her the thoroughly unfunctional wall decoration he has obtained. He projects she will then jump into his big, strong arms and beg him to claim her.
Taytu isn’t jumping anywhere. She has one mission—kill every cyborg in existence.
The huge, handsome male traveling to meet with her is her first target. His rough hands, firm lips, and sparkling, energy-infused eyes won’t save him from her vengeance. She has trained vigorously for this moment, and she won’t fail at her assigned task.
The cyborg will die.

The Bikes Of The Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
The Consumer Electronics Show, being a boy’s paradise, also had pimped out cars and motorcycles.

This bike wins the award for cutest bike of the show. Look at that expression! “You want to WHAT with my engine?”
I picture Hawke’s bike in Sinful Rewards as looking something like this one. VERY sexy!

And, of course, not every bike was on the exhibit floor. Vegas’ finest was controlling traffic on the strip with their bikes.

This bike was snapped outside the Harley store in the O’Hare Airport in Chicago. I thought it was apt considering Sinful Rewards is set in Chicago.

Hawke's View
Here’s a snippet of a ride in Sinful Rewards 7.
“Get on the bike, Belinda.” He pats the seat behind him, the smack of skin against leather loud and arousing. “You need this ride.”
“Okay.” I obey him, swinging my leg over the huge machine. The only alternative is to return to the condo, and I don’t want to face Cyndi. Not yet.
“Trust me,” Hawke repeats. He pulls on my legs, sliding me closer to him, his body wedged between my thighs. I slip my hands under his leather jacket and wrap my arms around him, linking my fingers over his flat stomach.
As Hawke dons his sunglasses, his muscles ripple under his black cotton T-shirt. He’s bluntness and brute strength, a primitive beast, savage and unrepentant.
And today, this wild man is mine. I grip him tighter, thrilled by this thought.
Hawke revs the throttle, and the bike vibrates under my ass, all of me rubbing against all of him. I shudder with joy, resting my helmeted head against his back.
The damn man laughs as the machine shoots forward, its tires eating pavement. Hawke weaves in and out of Chicago traffic, avoiding bike couriers and tourists rubbernecking in rental cars, upgrade options dangling from their rearview mirrors. The wind plucks at my pants, whipping the fabric around my legs, and I cuddle closer to my big biker.
Hawke leans backward, silently communicating that he’s here, he has me. Heads turn as we ride, pedestrians gawking at us with open curiosity. My military man doesn’t need bright colors or designer fashions to garner attention. His mere presence attracts gazes. I splay my fingers over his stomach, and our speed accelerates.
Hawke turns the bike off Michigan Avenue, navigating the side streets. The neighborhoods deteriorate and the pavement becomes rougher. He navigates around deep potholes, man and machine moving as one.
The sun warms my shoulders and cool air brushes over my bare arms, the contrast thrilling me. I feel alive, free, happy. Laughter bubbles in my throat.
Hawke was right. This ride is exactly what I need, our speed blowing the worries from my mind. I hug my tattooed biker, trying to convey my joy, and he squeezes my right knee, the warmth of his palm permeating the fabric of my pants.
