This post has adult content. If you are under the age of eighteen years old or sensitive to adult language/situations, please do not read this post.

The third novella in my sizzling hot Sinful Rewards serial releases September 16th. Last week, I shared the first excerpt. (You can read it here http://tasteofcyn.com/2014/09/01/first-excerpt-for-sinful-rewards-3/ ) Today, I’m sharing the second excerpt!

***

A very large man separates from the pack, and my words fade. He’s backlit, his face and form in darkness, but I’d recognize that blunt buzz cut, square chin, broad shoulders, and confident swagger anywhere.

“Hawke,” I whisper, my toes wiggling in the practical flats I was forced to wear. My lack of heels makes him appear even larger, more dominant and manly.

“Sweetheart.” He cups my chin with his rough fingers and tilts my face upward. Our gazes meet and hold, time stopping, the noise and lights fading. There’s only the two of us.

I’ll have sex with this mountain of a man tonight. Decades-entrenched fear battles newly formed desire. The temptation to turn, to run from him, from this fate, increases with each heartbeat. I know of only one way to quiet my mind, to ensure passion wins. “Kiss me,” I whisper.

Hawke doesn’t hesitate. He swoops down and claims my lips, the strength of his embrace stealing my breath. I gasp. He surges inside me, his tongue tangling, tumbling with mine. He tastes of whiskey and chocolate, a burning sweetness I could quickly become addicted to.

My knees tremble, and he straps his arms around my body, holding me upright, pressing me to him. I forget everything, my doubts, our audience, my friend Cyndi, losing myself in him, in the rasp of his stubble-covered chin against my skin, the stroke of his tongue along mine, the hardness of his body.

Hawke lifts me higher, fitting me into his fit form. My curves flatten against his muscle. My feet dangle above the pavement. Never have I felt this delicate, this cherished.

I grip his shoulders, clinging to him, relishing his strength and size. This is right, this kiss, this night, this man. I’ll give him everything, expecting only pleasure in return, forgoing forever for one evening.

A man whistles, breaking the spell. Other men join him, hooting and hollering, their unruly behavior heating my cheeks. Hawke releases my lips and pushes my face into his cotton-covered chest, bending over my smaller form as though to shield me from them.

“I’m glad you came,” he murmurs, his voice low and deep and arousing. I wiggle closer to him, my nipples pressing against the red silk of my corset. He strokes my loose-flowing hair, his big hands gentle, almost reverent.

“I almost didn’t,” I share quietly, not wanting anyone else to hear us.

Shark Week At The Shedd

By Cynthia Sax on August 11, 2014

Sinful Rewards is set in Chicago, a city I absolutely love. One of the fun things about this story are the references to the local attractions and buildings.

When I wrote Sinful Rewards 2, I had NO idea when the story would be releasing. It could have released in May, December, April. I didn’t know.

So I was THRILLED when I found out it would be releasing tomorrow, right in the middle of shark week at the Shedd (Chicago’s aquarium and a beloved landmark).

Why? Because this scene in Sinful Rewards refers to this awesome event!

***

The bus arrives six minutes late. It’s crammed full of people. Painted faces are pressed against the steamed-up windows. I spot dorsal fin hats and giant foam fish, which can mean only one thing—it’s Shark Week at the Shedd.

The driver opens the door, looks at me, glances behind him at the masses of bodies wedged into the space. “You’re small. You might fit.” He flicks his fingers, ushering me onto the vehicle.

John Shedd Aquarium Dome

“Thank you.” I’m average size but I don’t argue. I pay my fare and slide between a broad woman proudly wearing an I Heart Hammerheads T-shirt and a bearded man in a suit. My hand sticks out of the suffocating human sandwich, my purse hanging over the fare box.

The bus jerks forward. I slam against the corporate lumberjack, my breasts smacking against his chest. “Sorry.” I widen my stance, better bracing myself, embarrassed by the contact.

He grunts, his response swallowed by his beard. Moisture beads on his forehead. His suit jacket smells like wet wool.

I stare at his lapels, trying to act as though I’m not pressed against him, as though I’m not sharing an intimate embrace with a stranger, our thighs, hips, chests touching. The floor vibrates under my shoes. I don’t know how fast we are moving, as I can’t see outside, my view blocked by bodies, my fellow passengers much taller than I am.

John Shedd Aquarium From The Front

A lady grumbles loudly about great whites giving other sharks a bad name. “Everyone knows the great white is the only shark worth talking about,” a man snaps.

Passengers gasp, their reactions encouraging the combatants. The verbally dueling duo exchange increasingly shrill insults, drawing oohs and aahs from the shark-savvy crowd. I wince, my eardrums ringing. Shark fans make Black Friday shoppers appear civilized, and these adversaries are locked in a to-the-death standoff, their hostility spiraling my anxiety skyward.

The man finally calls her a seal lover, the ultimate insult. The woman shrieks. Foam slaps against foam. Bodies sway. The bus stops, and everyone groans.

“Is this an incident?” the driver asks. “Do I have to notify dispatch?”

Sizzling Summer Nights Blog Tour

By Cynthia Sax on August 1, 2014

Sinful Rewards, my 12 novella scorching hot contemporary erotic romance serial, is set in Chicago in the middle of summer. The temperatures are hot and so are the men.

Bee, the heroine, is torn between a handsome billionaire with a dark secret (and an adorable sweet tooth) and a tattooed bad boy biker. With every passing day, passions escalate and her decision becomes more and more difficult.

Here is a short sizzling excerpt.

***

I allow my gaze to travel up the stranger’s body, over his thighs, groin, stomach, chest. A thick scar slashes through his right nipple and four letters are tattooed over his left pec – USMC – United States Marine Corps. He’s a military man, trained to protect, to kill. This should dampen my unseemly fascination with him.

I want him even more.

A larger tattoo stretches over his collarbone, the design depicting a sun framed by a pair of wings, the ink black and gray and achingly beautiful. The feathers are finely detailed, the softness appearing out of place on such a hard body.

The stranger’s spine is straight, his shoulders squared and his arms raised. A third tattoo encircles one huge bicep, the barbed wire in black ink serving as a warning. Danger. Do not enter. A wise woman would heed this sign.

I should heed this sign. I should look away. I can’t, my gaze drawn to him. The man’s chin is square, brown stubble shadowing his golden skin. His nose is flattened, his nostrils are flared, his—

I step backward, my heart pounding. No, my luck can’t be that bad. I look into the telescope once more. It is that bad. Military-style binoculars cover the man’s eyes. These lenses are pointed directly at me.

He’s watching me. I move away from the window, retreating into the shadows. He saw me looking at him. He knows. Heat rushes over me, making the world spin. This stranger knows I’m a pervert. He knows I’m not the good girl I’ve allowed others to believe. If he tells Cyndi, Mr. Wynters, anyone…

I hold my breath, count to five, and release it, repeating the action until the fog surrounding me dissipates and my rational thought returns. He won’t tell anyone and if he does, who will believe him? He’s standing on his balcony naked. This fact alone disqualifies him as a credible source.

Not that gossip ever originates from credible sources. I twist my lips, disgusted with myself for making this error. This is why I shouldn’t take risks. I take one look through the telescope and I get caught. My mom has one wild night with a bad boy and she conceives me.

Sinful Rewards 1

Belinda “Bee” Carter is a good girl; at least, that’s what she tells herself. And a good girl deserves a nice guy—just like the gorgeous and moody billionaire Nicolas Rainer. He is everything she wants in a man.

Or so she thinks, until she takes a look through her telescope and sees a naked, tattooed man on the balcony across the courtyard. Hawke is mysterious, the bad boy she knows will bring only heartbreak. He has been watching her, and that makes him all the more enticing.

But when a mysterious and anonymous text message dares her to do something bad, she must decide if she is really the good girl she has always claimed to be, or if she’s willing to risk everything for her secret fantasy of being watched.

Is her mystery man the reclusive billionaire with a wild side or the darkly dangerous bad boy?

How To Feed A Romance Hero – Pizza

By Cynthia Sax on July 30, 2014

Sinful Rewards is set in Chicago and we can’t talk about Chicago without talking about deep dish pizza. My favorite pizza place in Chicago is Lou Malnati’s, my favorite pie being sausage with butter crust.

So I asked a pizza expert which Lou Malnati’s pie she’d recommend for four different romance heroes. (this expert preferred not to be named)

*******************************************************************************

The Sophisticated Executive

(think Nicolas from Sinful Rewards)

This billionaire hero wears expensive dark suits, white shirts, silk ties. He travels in a limousine, eats at the best restaurants, is seen at Chicago high society events. He has a private jet and divides his time between Chicago, New York and LA.

Recommendation

Pizza Recommended :
Deluxe (a little bit of everything)

Why you’d recommend this pizza: The Deluxe is the heartiest (and most expensive) of pizzas because it is loaded with toppings.

*******************************************************************************

The Bad Boy Biker

(think Mack, Hawke’s biker friend, from Sinful Rewards)

This hero dresses in leather and denim, has tattoos and rides a Harley. He thumbs his nose at the rules. He rarely dons a suit but when he does, it certainly isn’t traditional. He will do anything once and thinks the guys on Duck Dynasty are wimps.

Recommendation

Pizza Recommended :
Deep Dish Sausage with giardiniera

Why you’d recommend this pizza: This is not a pizza for wimps! Our unique sausage blend is bursting with flavor, but giardiniera kicks things up a notch.

*******************************************************************************

The Marine

(think Hawke from Sinful Rewards)

He’s proudly patriotic, willing to die for his country. He supports the All American dream, was likely the quarterback of his high school football team, likes apple pie and his mom. He calls the people he respects Sir or Ma’am, is very clean, organized, and always on time.

Recommendation

Pizza Recommended :
The Classic

Why you’d recommend this pizza: The Classic is the most popular pizza sold at Lou Malnati’s. While pepperoni may be the most popular topping elsewhere, in Chicago sausage is the traditional go-to topping.

*******************************************************************************

The Movie Star

(think Cole from Sinful Rewards)

He’s always in the spotlight, wears the latest trends, is seen in the latest social hot spots. He’s concerned about how he’s depicted and is constantly on for the cameras. His clothes, cars, attitude all scream ‘look at me.’

Recommendation

Pizza Recommended :
The Lou. (one of the signature pies)

Why you’d recommend this pizza: The Lou is a special pizza, it has to be to bear the name! It was Lou’s signature pizza.

*******************************************************************************

Thank you, mysterious pizza expert, for sharing your expertise with us today!

How To Dress Like A Romance Hero – Cuff Links

By Cynthia Sax on July 9, 2014

I LOVE cuff links. My dear wonderful hubby has a huge collection. He uses them to add some personality to his classic business suits. Cuff links reveal so much about a man.

Eugene “Gene” Klompus from Just Cuff Links ( http://www.justcufflinks.com/ ) has more than 25 years experience in the cuff link business. He’s helped many, many men and women with their cuff link selections.

I asked Gene to recommend the perfect cuff links for four different romance heroes.

*******************************************************************************

The Sophisticated Executive

(think Nicolas from Sinful Rewards)

This billionaire hero wears expensive dark suits, white shirts, silk ties. He travels in a limousine, eats at the best restaurants, is seen at Chicago high society events. He has a private jet and divides his time between Chicago, New York and LA.

Recommendation

Gene – This is an 18KT gold and sterling silver pair with a faceted and genuine Lapis center stone.

Our website’s item number is: EX-CL-47D.

I chose this pair because of its simplicity of design, and obvious good taste appearance. This pair matches the Sophisticated Executive’s conservative taste and follows his appreciation for quality.

Cynthia:
Nicolas, the billionaire hero from Sinful Rewards, would definitely want this pair. I’m drooling over these.

Gene – This is a nicely enameled and classic pair of cuff links depicting a skull and crossbones.

Our website’s item number is: SK-CL-Cufflink.

I chose this pair because it matches the macho mindset of this biker. And, I know from experience that it is a favorite pair among bikers

Cynthia:
I can see every biker at The Road Gator (the biker bar in Sinful Rewards) wanting a pair of these cuff links!

*******************************************************************************

The Marine

(think Hawke from Sinful Rewards)

He’s proudly patriotic, willing to die for his country. He supports the All American dream, was likely the quarterback of his high school football team, likes apple pie and his mom. He calls the people he respects Sir or Ma’am, is very clean, organized, and always on time.

Recommendation

Gene – Red, white and Blue “waving flag” in a gold setting.

Our website’s item number is: FL-JJ-3572.

I chose this pair because The Marine is highly patriotic. He would be very proud to wear this pair!

Cynthia: These would be the only cuff links Hawke would wear. These are a must for every proud American!

*******************************************************************************

The Movie Star

(think Cole from Sinful Rewards)

He’s always in the spotlight, wears the latest trends, is seen in the latest social hot spots. He’s concerned about how he’s depicted and is constantly on for the cameras. His clothes, cars, attitude all scream ‘look at me.’

Recommendation

Gene – This is a highly sparkling pair of Cherry Red Swarovski crystal cuff links with a clear crystal surround.

Our website’s item number is; MIS-AU-SW27

I chose this pair because of The Movie Star’s strong desire to be noticed. This pair has great “bling” and he would love the attention it commands.

Cynthia:
Not only would these cuff links appeal to Cole, but they would appeal to color loving Cyndi also. If they ever met, she’d happily buy him a pair!

*******************************************************************************

Thank you, Gene, for sharing your expertise with us today!

For fellow cuff link lovers, Just Cuff Links has the largest selection of antique and vintage cuff links on the net. Be careful though. If you’re an addict like I am, you’ll have a wish list several pages long!

Sinful Rewards 1 – Fourth Excerpt

By Cynthia Sax on July 7, 2014

This post has adult content. If you are under the age of eighteen years old or sensitive to adult language/situations, please do not read this post.

I’ve shared the first three scenes from Sinful Rewards 1.

Read the first scene here

Read the second scene here

Read the third scene here

Today, I’m sharing the fourth scene.

***

I hastily don my purse, wearing the strap across my body. Leather smacks against my thigh, the fashion accessory designed for tall supermodels, not for my slighter proportions. If I leave the condo now, I can pretend I was never here.

I march out of the unit and into the hallway. The door closes behind me and the state-of-the-art lock buzzes, electronically clicking into place. My heels sink into rich red carpet. Gold light fixtures illuminate the common areas. Vanilla fills the air, the scent appealingly light. I’m surrounded by opulence and beauty. It feels good and right, as though I belong here, and no one, certainly not some tattooed stranger, will take my new home away from me.

I press the button for the elevator and study my reflection in the metal doors. My shirt is an impeccable white, the cuffs neatly folded at my elbows, the style copied from one of this month’s fashion magazines. The designer shirts in that spread had been expensive silk. My shirt is cotton, purchased at a discount department store. I’ve raised the hem of my black formfitting skirt so it skims my bare knees. My shoes match my skirt, the Louboutin knockoffs sporting the distinct shiny red-lacquered soles, the heel height and toe shape perfectly duplicated.

I brush a stray strand of hair behind my right ear. Even my hairstyle is borrowed from the pages of a magazine, my straight brown tendrils swept upward and contained by a plain clip. I might not be able to afford the real designs, but I can look damn close.

The doors open. Lona LaMarre, the notorious occupant of five oh one south, stands in one corner of the elevator. I hesitate, silently questioning if sharing space with her is wise. The aging beauty is rumored to be a high-class escort, a character no decent woman would ever associate with, a woman who makes my perversions appear normal.

She’s profited well from her perversions. Lona is clad in a gorgeous black Chanel suit, the detailing on the buttons and collar exquisite. She clutches a gold phone in one hand and a red Alexander McQueen bag in the other, the leather in mint condition.

Her flawless fashion sense lures me closer. I step inside the elevator car and press the button for the lobby.

The doors close and Lona raises her gaze from her phone. Her blue eyes are cold and assessing, not missing a single aspect of my appearance. I shift my weight from my right foot to my left, uncomfortable with her perusal, suspecting she’s determining my net worth down to the penny.

My measly net worth must amuse her. Lona’s lips twitch, her peach-colored lipstick immaculate. “Good morning, Belinda.” Her voice is husky, hinting of smoke and sex. Her floral perfume teases my nostrils, the scent expensive and refined.

Lona would never wear fake anything.

“Good morning,” I mutter as I claim the far corner. Our images reflect in the mirrored walls, and I wince. Standing next to her, I resemble a girl playing dress-up, short, slender, and insignificant, a cheap imitation of the real thing.

Even my good-girl reputation is a lie, as the tattooed man uncovered this morning. I gaze morosely at the red digital numbers, willing them to change faster. My telekinetic abilities are weak. The elevator descends agonizingly slowly.

“Your purse won’t last the day,” the escort murmurs, breaking the silence. “You should replace it before it falls apart.”

“It’s not that easy.” Her assumption that everyone has money irritates me. This week’s paycheck is already spent, the money needed to pay my mom’s rent.

“It could be that easy.” Lona smiles, her teeth straight and white and perfect. “You’re a beautiful young woman.”

I’m beautiful? I snort softly. Is she looking at the same reflection as I am?

“I have principles.” I want security and safety, a man who won’t leave me as my dad left my mom.

“Principles don’t buy designer purses or pay the rent, hon.” Lona’s brilliant eyes flash. “What happens when your bubbly little friend finds a man and settles down? She’ll want the condo to herself. What will you do then? Go back to that sleepy little one-stoplight town, work at the diner with your mom, taking orders from snotty teenage girls? Will you be content with that life?”

I jerk my chin upward and meet her gaze. “How do you know where I grew up?” How does she know about my mom, about the diner, about the teenage girls who made my high school days a living hell, forcing my mom to wait on them, to pander to their every need?

“Oh, baby.” Lona chuckles. “My sources might have given me the details, but I knew who you were the day you moved into the building.”

Don’t ask. Don’t ask. Don’t ask. I curl my fingers around the strap of my purse and dig my fingernails into the faux leather. Shit. This sensory distraction isn’t enough. I need to know. “Who am I?”

“You’re me, twenty-seven years ago,” Lona informs me triumphantly.

“I’m not you. I’ll never be you.” I’ll resist my unnatural urges, hide my perversions. No one will ever know. . .except for the tattooed stranger.

Fireworks In Chicago

By Cynthia Sax on July 4, 2014

Since today is July 4th, a celebration in the US, and Tuesday was Canada Day, I thought I’d share some of my fireworks photos from one of my July 4ths spent in Chicago.

(You can click on the photos to enlarge them.)

We stood near Buckingham Fountain, yes, the same fountain featured in Married With Children. There were SO many people.

Unfortunately, there were also lights and bit of rain.

The dear wonderful hubby and I had a wonderful time though. As my grandma used to say “I’m not made of sugar. I won’t melt.” And I didn’t (grins).

Bee, Nicolas and Hawke from Sinful Rewards will, of course, be spending July 4th in Chicago. Hawke will be watching the fireworks from his balcony. Our bad boy doesn’t intend to wear clothes. Nicolas will be sitting in his tiny park, a phone pressed against one ear. Bee and her best friend Cyndi will be taking turns using the new telescope Cyndi purchased. Cyndi has stocked up on jellybeans from her family’s plant. Bee will make some snacks.

Sinful Rewards 1 – Third Excerpt

By Cynthia Sax on June 30, 2014

This post has adult content. If you are under the age of eighteen years old or sensitive to adult language/situations, please do not read this post.

I’ve shared the first two scenes from Sinful Rewards 1.

Read the first scene here

Read the second scene here

Today, I’m sharing the third scene.

***

I gaze through the eyepiece. The view consists of rippling golden planes, almost like. . .

Tanned skin pulled over defined abs.

I blink. It can’t be. I take another look. A perfect pearl of perspiration clings to a puckered scar. The drop elongates more and more, stretching, snapping. It trickles downward, navigating the swells and valleys of a man’s honed torso.

No. I straighten. This is wrong. I shouldn’t watch our sexy neighbor as he stands on his balcony. If anyone catches me. . .

I glance behind me. There’s no one here to catch me. Cyndi won’t know I looked. The hunk in three eleven north won’t know I looked. I’m not harming anyone.

I bend over and take another peek.

The sunlight casts interesting shadows across his stomach, accentuating the ridges of muscle, the dip of his navel. I dart my tongue over my suddenly dry lips. His skin is marred with silver scars, some round, some slashes, this proof of hard living, of survival, arousing me, tightening my nipples and moistening my pussy.

I shouldn’t lust after him. He’s the wrong kind of man, the leaving kind, too virile and feral to stay in one place for long. I can tell this from his stance, from his brazen exhibitionism. He wants me to look at him, to care for him. I tilt the telescope downward. His hips are slim. More scars are etched along the bones. Fine brown hair trails from his navel to. . .

My mouth drops open. He’s completely naked. And he’s erect. The biggest, thickest cock I’ve ever seen juts from brown curls. I adjust the zoom. A dab of precum glistens on his tip. Veins lift on his shaft. His balls hug his base.

He’s proud and strong and defiantly free, everything I’ve ever secretly yearned to be, the type of man the women in my family have always been attracted to, the type of man I should never have. I want him, need him, my body shaking with desire.

I can’t have him. I won’t make my mom’s mistakes, won’t settle for less than forever. My resolve doesn’t stop me from looking, from perusing him slowly, thoroughly, memorizing every inch of his glorious form, committing his fit physique to memory. I lower the telescope. His muscles are defined, his knees striped with silver and his feet braced apart as though he is preparing for an attack.

I’ll dream of his legs between my thighs, of his hips slamming against mine, his massive cock filling me, stretching me to the point of pain. He’ll drive into me hard and fast, and I’ll grip his back, digging my fingernails into his skin, holding on with everything I have as he ravishes me.

I tremble, my arousal uncomfortable and unnerving. I’ve seen naked men. I’m not a virgin. But I’ve never had such an instant reaction to a man, not even to Nicolas.

Because I haven’t seen Nicolas naked. Ignoring my feelings of guilt, of disloyalty, I allow my gaze to travel up the stranger’s body, over his thighs, groin, stomach, chest. A thick scar slashes through his right nipple and four letters are tattooed over his left pec—USMC—United States Marine Corps.

I can’t; my gaze is drawn to him.

Wynters, anyone. . .

I hold my breath, count to five, and release it, repeating the action until the fog surrounding me dissipates and my rational thought returns. He won’t tell anyone, and if he does, who will believe him? He’s standing on his balcony naked. This fact alone disqualifies him as a credible source.

Not that gossip ever originates from credible sources. I twist my lips, disgusted with myself for making this error. This is why I shouldn’t take risks. I take one look through the telescope and I get caught. My mom has one wild night with a bad boy and she conceives me.

Can A Bike Be Pretty?

By Cynthia Sax on June 26, 2014

(Click on the photos to enlarge them)

Many biker heroes in Romanceland tend to ride a bike that looks like this black bike I spotted at a show.

Often this bike is a Harley. It’s normally new and rarely modified.

This isn’t the type of bike Hawke, the hero in Sinful Rewards, rides. He’s a one of a kind guy and he rides a one of a kind bike. He’s also big and tough and he doesn’t have to prove his manliness by riding a black bike.

He can ride a pretty bike, as Bee, our heroine, describes Hawke’s chopper in this scene.

***

I stand on the sidewalk and watch as the limo is sucked into the constant stream of traffic. Does he realize I’m gone? I scowl.

“Do you want me to have him killed?” a man rumbles.

I squeak, startled, and I pivot on my high heels. A man in a black leather jacket and faded blue jeans sits on the shiniest, prettiest motorcycle I’ve ever seen. Silver talons grab the metal axles. Finely drawn birds decorate the blue gas tank.

***

Can a bike be described as pretty?

I wouldn’t recommend calling a bike pretty to the rider’s weathered face (grins). But yes, bikes can be pretty, especially choppers. According to Wikipedia, a “chopper is a type of motorcycle that is either modified from an original motorcycle design (“chopped”) or built from scratch to have a unique hand-crafted appearance.”

One of the prettiest choppers I’ve ever seen is the Sirens Of TI bike customized by Metropolitan Choppers. It is a work of art. Every inch of this bike is lovingly crafted. It is as designer as the purses Bee loves.

The Azure, crafted by Orange County Choppers, has details like shell-shaped mirrors and one-of-a-kind etchings.

Then there’s the fish bike. (grins). This crazy bike designed for Bass Pro Shops combines a guy’s two loves—bikes and fishing. It isn’t my style but that’s the point. It can only belong to its owner.

Do you think bikes can be pretty?
