Throwback Thursday – North Bound
Every time I think about North Bound, I smile. It is such a fun story.
Sure, North, the cyborg hero, is a bit serious. But his heroine, Myrina the Magnificent, is over the top in all the best ways. And Steve, the male-eating plant ruler of Myrina’s home planet, is absolutely amazing.
I love this story and I think you’ll love it also. (smiles)

Steve, the male-eating plant ruler of Balazoid Minor in North Bound, is one of my favorite characters I’ve ever had the good fortunate to write about. He doesn’t speak but he expresses himself VERY clearly and he is so fraggin’ arrogant. I love him.
North and Myrina the Magnificent are awesome also. They are wonderful apart and they are even better when they join forces and fall in love.
North Bound is a fun story and a complete escape from everything around us. (smiles)

North Bound features one of my all time favorite secondary characters – Steve, the male-eating plant ruler of Balazoid Minor.
Steve respects Myrina the Magnificent, the heroine of the story. He eventually grows to respect North, the cyborg hero, though he never truly likes him. (grins) The two of them are too similar for that.
This is an enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of action and explosions and, of course, hot passion.

It is summer in my corner of the world. I’ve put in a vegetable garden this year and every time I tend to it, I think of Steve, the male-eating plant ruler of Balazoid Minor. He appears in North Bound and has a love-hate relationship with North, the cyborg hero.
Myrina the Magnificent has a love-hate relationship with North also. She tries to capture him. Multiple times.

The Battle Against Earth Steve
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spent most of yesterday trying to reduce the spread of a super aggressive vine over our back and front yard. I love vines but this particular one is strangling every bit of vegetation in its path. It is even killing the dandelions and I didn’t think anything could do that.
We jokingly call this vine Steve, naming it after Steve, the all-powerful sentient plant on Balazoid Minor (he appears in North Bound). Thankfully Earth Steve isn’t as bloodthirsty or as arrogant as the original. He IS as dominant, however. (grins)
Will we win the battle against Earth Steve? No. Not a chance. He is everywhere. We’re merely trying to give the other plants a chance to live.

North Bound makes me smile so wide. Myrina the Magnificent is an absolute hoot. She is so over the top, intentionally so, is the WWF wrestling-like star on her planet.
It is a planet ruled by Steve, an equally dramatic male-eating plant. He doesn’t speak yet communicates his feelings and wishes clearly.
North, the Captain’s extremely honorable second-in-command, is dropped into the chaos. This cyborg not only manages the anarchy he finds there surprisingly well but he seems to thrive on it.
