The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I stayed at the Maison Du Nord when we recently visited Mauritius. It was an absolutely delightful boutique hotel with amazing customer service and a wonderful buffet breakfast featuring crepes and local fruits.
And Maison Du Nord had its own resident guard cat! This extremely skilled hunter is shown here protecting the lobby. (grins)
As you likely guessed it, the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I have been traveling. We’re seeing the world while I figure out which writing projects to work on next.
These writing projects will be pitched to agents, publishers, or other entities so they likely won’t be published in the immediate future. Big wheels turn slowly and all that. (smiles)

I am in the middle of completing corporate taxes. Yep. Ugh. It isn’t a fun task. But it has to be done. And I’m lucky to have a business (the romance writing business) to complete taxes for. I focus on that.
Once the taxes are completed, I’ll likely celebrate by reading some great romance novels. (smiles) That’s my favorite reward. Reading romance novels makes me SO happy.

I might be taking a break from publishing stories (how long this break will be depends on the political climate) but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped creating stories…in my mind. I’ve also been planning the 2025 gardens. And doing taxes. Ugh. (eyeroll) And spending time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby.

I’ve been sleeping in, reading a LOT, and spending time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby and other loved ones. (big happy sigh) It has been GLORIOUS.
This upcoming week should, hopefully, be as relaxing. I didn’t realize how much I needed to unwind until I did it. Isn’t that usually the way? (laughs)

I’m also reading. 100.0000 percent (as the cyborgs would say) for pleasure. It is GLORIOUS. There’s no analyzing, no mental tearing apart of sentence structure, etc. It is pure fun. And love. And relaxation.

Did you do that as a child? I did. Not with a flashlight. We didn’t have flashlight for kids type of money. I went with the eye strain, which I don’t recommend. (laughs) It was still fun.
