Today, New Year’s Eve, is often a day to set and talk about New Year’s Resolutions, goals and aspirations we have for the new year.
Many resolutions will be semi serious. For writers, it might be to write X number of stories. For readers, it might be to read X number of stories.
But ensure you make one of your New Year’s Resolutions having fun.
Having fun seems trivial. But it is very much NOT. Moments of fun are rewards for hard work. They are reasons TO work hard. Joy keeps us going. And it makes everyone around us happy also.
So set a resolution to tell one bad joke a week or have a silly dance party once a month or wear a goofy hat or explore a new-to-you neighborhood or…
Plan to have fun in 2026. You deserve this!

New Year’s Eve’s Eve

I had to go there.
Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2025.
2025 has been….a lot. The world always changes but the difference between December 30, 2024 and December 30, 2025 is one for the record books. It is almost like we jumped timelines.
(Which gives me a gazillion story ideas – smiles)
Be kind to yourself today and tomorrow and…always. Know that you accomplished the only true goal any of us has – you survived. And that’s enough, more than enough. You ROCK for having done this. Never doubt that.
And know also, that just as you had some laughs and hugs and love in 2025, you’ll have some laughs and hugs and love in 2026. There will be challenges, yes, but there will be moments of exquisite joy, of startling beauty, of warmth and caring.
You have that and much, much more to look forward to, my friends.

Cyborg Sizzle Escape Omnibus
Half Man. Half Machine. All Theirs.

While these cyborg warriors battle to escape their cruel manufacturers, they find the human females they are destined to love for all eternity.
This omnibus includes the first seven stories in the Cyborg Sizzle series: Releasing Rage, Breathing Vapor, Being Green, Crash And Burn, Defying Death, Chasing Mayhem and Jumping Barrel.
All of these Cyborg Romances are set in a dark, gritty, often violent universe.
Releasing Rage
Rage, the Humanoid Alliance’s most primitive cyborg, has two goals–kill all of the humans on his battle station and escape to the Homeland. The warrior has seen the darkness in others and in himself. He believes that’s all he’s been programmed to experience.

Breathing Vapor
Vapor is the most advanced cyborg the Humanoid Alliance has ever developed. He’s a finely honed weapon, a warrior without parallel, half man and half machine. No lock can contain him. No being can stop him. Whatever he wants, he takes.
He wants Mira Breazeal, the Designer’s daughter.
Being Green
Green, a cyborg warrior, cares for one being—his plant Windy. When Windy becomes sick, he’ll do anything to heal her, even venture across the universe to visit a worlds-renowned plant doctor.
He doesn’t expect to find love.
Crash And Burn
Crash was manufactured to be one of the best warriors in the universe. The cyborg has spent many human lifespans fighting the enemy. But, unlike his battle-loving brethren, he doesn’t enjoy killing. When he escapes the Humanoid Alliance, he vows to never end another life.
Then he meets Safyre, an infuriating human female, and he considers breaking his vow.
Defying Death
Cyborgs don’t show emotion. Death learned that lesson early in his long lifespan. To survive, he hides his fierce passions behind a stoic wall. He calls no warrior friend. He never admits to caring for any being.
Even the human female he’s destined to love.
Chasing Mayhem
Mayhem has spent his lengthy lifespan obeying the Humanoid Alliance’s rules. Finally free from their cruel control, the cyborg warrior plans to cause chaos. He infiltrates a remote settlement, provokes the savage locals until they want him dead, and allows himself to be captured by the sexiest little Retriever he has ever laid his mechanically-enhanced eyes on.
Jumping Barrel
Barrel requires an Expert for the Tau Cetian orphans. He’s looking for a female who is willing to commit to a lifespan-long role, who is comfortable with moving off planet, and who, preferably, has the ability to speak the offsprings’ first language.
His female, however, is looking for a hero.

Plans For 2026
2026 is just around the corner.
That’s wild, isn’t it? (shakes head and grins) Time whizzes along.
2026, writing-wise, will be all about my Super Secret Project, which will be published under a different pen name. This will be my new writing. And it is all about having fun.
I might also republish a few more past Cynthia Sax stories, like the second Moonbeam 2 story collection and maybe some of my short stories.
But, mostly, my focus will be on non-writing projects.
There’s a lot happening in the world right now. And a lot of people need help.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I want to do more, especially regarding feeding people. We plan to volunteer at food banks, volunteer in community gardens, and take other actions.

Boxing Day
December 26th is Boxing Day here in Canada.
For many, Boxing Day is a shopping day. Stores are clearing out holiday merchandise and there are often great sales.
In my family, it has traditionally been a stay at home and read day. We always receive books as gifts over the holidays and today is a day to enjoy them.
Which is exactly what I’ll be doing.

I plan to snuggle under the covers with the Dear Wonderful Hubby and read a new-to-me romance novel.
It will be glorious!

Imperfection Is A HUGE Component Of Greatness
A loved one always worries she will ‘mess up’ her children’s holidays.
She will forget a much-desired gift or dry out the turkey or put a tree ornament in the wrong spot or…or…
She wants the holidays to be perfect.
I have to remind her that perfect should NEVER be the goal.
Perfect is boring.
No one tells stories about perfect. No one remembers perfect.
Perfect is never part of greatness.
Never.
Greatness always has flaws. It has cracks and chips in it, challenges and things that go humorously wrong.
Our greatest memories are a bit messy.
Because love is messy. Happiness is messy. WE are messy.
We don’t want perfect holidays.
We want holidays filled with love and joy and laughter.
Cherish the imperfections.

Muse Food – The Presents We Give
Tis the season for giving and receiving presents or gifts.
(smiles)
The presents we give often say more about us than the presents we receive.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby, for example, loves to give food as presents because he loves feeding people. He loves taking care of his loved ones, ensuring they are okay at least food-wise. And he sees meals as a social event.
A protective hero, as another example, might give gifts that allow him to safeguard his loved ones. He’d give the car-free heroine limo vouchers so she never has to walk home in the dark. Or he’d give his warrior heroine a state-of-the-art shield to defend herself. Or he’d give his scientist heroine the best protective eyewear available.
