Happy Halloween!

By Cynthia Sax on October 31, 2025

I LOVE Halloween!

I love the costumes. I love that it is a day of make-believe. I love the kiddies and furbabies and how happy and excited they are. I love the neighborhood bonding. I love the tiny chocolate bars that make you feel like a giant when you eat them. (grins) And I really love feeding people.

It is my favorite special day.

(smiles)

I hope you have a fantastical Halloween, my friends!

Throwback Thursday – Claiming Cure

By Cynthia Sax on October 30, 2025

Claiming Cure is the final story…for now…in the cyborg world.

And this continuum goes out with a bang. (grins) Yes, there are explosions.

And love. And some humor.

Claiming Cure

A proud cyborg medic meets his human match.

***

Cyra has tasks to complete before she dies.

There are patients to heal, a dangerous mission to undertake, and a world to save. She doesn’t have time to entertain uninvited guests.

Especially one coldhearted cyborg medic who thinks he’s better than her.

The male might be breathtakingly handsome. His sternly set lips might be extremely kissable. And his touch might draw out a passion she didn’t think she was capable of feeling.

But he’s also a distraction, one that might doom millions of innocent beings to a painful, horrible death.

Cure isn’t emotionless. He feels…greatly. Listening to that malfunction has caused other beings pain and suffering in the past.

He refuses to allow his desires to cloud his judgment now.

His resolve is tested when he’s forced to associate with the most provoking, alluring medic in the universe.

Cyra is his genetic match, the one being in the universe he is fated to protect, touch, claim. She’s clever and beautiful, and the need to hold her almost downs his systems.

But now is not the time to indulge his great wanting.

Cure has an assignment to complete.

If he fails to accomplish his goals, everyone he cares for, including his human female, will die.

***

Claiming Cure is a standalone Cyborg SciFi Romance set in a dark, gritty, sometimes-violent universe.

It features two skilled medics determined to ignore the toe-curling attraction between them, a perilous impossible mission, and foes seeking to ensure they never heal another being ever again.

Eggshells In The Garden

By Cynthia Sax on October 29, 2025

One of the (many) things I do to prepare garden beds for next year is…

I sprinkle crushed eggshells over the soil.

I usually do this before applying compost, leaves and/or coffee grounds. This prevents the wildlife from digging in the garden bed, trying to find the yummy eggs I’ve clearly hidden from them. (grins)

Eggshells are a source of calcium and other nutrients.

They also come from nature. I figure they can go back to nature.

It takes forever for eggshells to break down, however. I don’t expect to reap the benefits of adding them to our soil for years. But hey, hopefully, we have years.

And building great soil is ALWAYS a long term project.

I don’t plan to plant in these garden beds for at least four months. So I also don’t have to worry about any contamination of food I plan to eat.

Mostly I like that it reduces waste. We eat the eggs. We spread the eggshells over the garden beds. We compost the cardboard-like egg cartons. We send nothing egg-related in the landfill.

Llamas In Skjolden, Norway

By Cynthia Sax on October 28, 2025

One of the fun things to do in Skjolden, Norway is to visit a nearby Llama Farm.

Visitors, for a fee, can walk the llamas and feed them.

The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I watched this from outside the fence. It looked like a great experience. (smiles)

The farm is an easy and beautiful walk from the center of town.

Muse Food – The Size Of The Wake

By Cynthia Sax on October 27, 2025

The Dear Wonderful Hubby took this great photo at the bum of a ship.

The ship was huge. It left a huge wake.

If the ship was smaller, it would likely have left a smaller wake (things like speed are factors also, however).

That’s true of developments in our stories also. A big development in our story leads to a big reaction by our characters. A small development would lead to a smaller reaction.

Ensure you match the size of the reaction to the size of the development.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – October 26

By Cynthia Sax on October 26, 2025

I continue to work on the super secret writing project. Yes. (grins) That will be part of my updates for at least 6 months as this is a HUGE fun project.

Have a wonderful week, my friends. (big hugs) Revel in everything spooky (at the spooky level you can enjoy). Have a day where you dress all in black, embracing your inner goth. (laughs) Play Michael Jackson’s Thriller, a wayback playback, and sing along to it at the top of your lungs. Read a romance featuring a vampire. Have fun with this time of the year, my friends! We deserve fun!

Moonbeam: Two Alien Romances From The Vault

Moonbeam includes two sizzling alien romances from Cynthia Sax’s vault.

Lust By Moonbeam

Cathy arrives at Moonbeam, the Roswell of the North, with one goal—to prove the mysterious dead tree circles are not caused by UFOs. Meeting a devastatingly handsome lumberjack with unusual blue and green eyes is a bonus.

He thinks he’s an alien.

That doesn’t bother Cathy. She can tolerate a little strangeness in a one-night stand, especially since Rellec claims her body as no sane man ever has—with the hungry touch of forever.

Rellec arrives at Moonbeam with one goal—to retrieve his destined mate, ensuring the continuation of his species. Having trained long and hard for his passion-filled mission, he is determined to claim his tiny human.

Failure is not an option.

Ravished By Moonbeam

When Officer Danielle smacks a hunky alien with her police cruiser, she suspects her black-and-green perp is up to no good.

She shoots him. He grins.

She hunts him down. He captures her, seducing her on a bed of pine needles.

And she’s never felt so alive.

Krol is Sila’s best warrior. He’s rough and tough and he knows a fragile human female can’t handle his true nature.

To win his mate and ensure the continuation of his species, he attempts to be the gentle male he believes she needs.

Then his Danielle tries to terminate him, and he discovers Earth women aren’t as dainty as they appear.

In Ravished By Moonbeam, the heroine harbors VERY dark suspicions regarding the hero.

Leave A Legacy

By Cynthia Sax on October 25, 2025

The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I safeguarded a Momma Hornet building a series of individual nests along the edges of our interlock driveway. We installed a ‘fence’ of sorts around these nests so she remained undisturbed.

It was the kind thing to do. She wasn’t bothering us. We didn’t want her to be bothered.

And we are well aware that the bees AND the hornets are in trouble population-wise.

This Momma Hornet’s babies and grandbabies and great-grandbabies, etc. could be the difference between having hornets in the future and not having hornets.

(Hornets are VERY beneficial. They, as one small example, keep populations of other creatures like caterpillars in balance.)

Protecting this Momma Hornet could be our legacy.

Picking up a piece of plastic so a bird or an earthworm doesn’t eat it could be our legacy.

Holding a door open for someone, making their day a bit happier so they go home to their families happier and more supportive could be our legacy.

We don’t need a gazillion dollars or grand gestures to leave a legacy.

Little actions and kindnesses change the world also.

Leave a legacy today.

Morning After The Rain

By Cynthia Sax on October 24, 2025

One of my favorite times is a sunny morning after a thorough overnight rain (a deep water as the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I call it).

There is a burst of green. The blue sky seems bluer. The sun seems brighter. The birds sing. The bees buzz. And the Mafia Squirrels roll around on the wet grass, playing.

It is glorious.

(smiles)

I remember that on dark days. The darkness doesn’t last. Soon, there will be sun and those rays will seem brighter, warmer, because we have experienced the dark.

Throwback Thursday – Drift Would

By Cynthia Sax on October 23, 2025

Love and trust go together. It is very challenging to love someone we can’t trust.

But that is the situation Drift finds himself in. His genetic match, Roshini, is a spy and a liar and almost everything about her is manufactured to deceive. He doesn’t even process if Roshini is her real name.

Can love endure without trust?

***

Drift Would

A cyborg and a spy fly into danger.

***

Drift is one of the best pilots in existence, and he has been assigned a perilous mission.

The G Model cyborg must fly to a distant planet, locate the sector-destroying superweapon the enemy is projected to be developing there, and obliterate that threat to the universe.

When Drift arrives at his destination and meets with an informant, he’s distracted by a mysterious human female seated in the shadows. She’s Drift’s genetic match, and she is the one being he’s destined to care for, claim, and protect.

She’s also a liar and a thief. And she might be working with the enemy.

Trusting her could kill him and everyone he cares about.

Liar. Thief. Seductress. Saboteur. Roshini has been called all of those things. And she has earned each label. She’s done some terrible things to safeguard the beings she loves.

A gray-eyed cyborg warrior with nimble hands and a shared need for speed won’t stop her high-risk activities.

She’ll sacrifice everything, including her lifespan, to complete her self-appointed top-secret assignment.

***

Drift Would is a standalone, enemies-to-lovers, Cyborg SciFi Romance set in a dark, gritty, sometimes-violent universe.

It features a cyborg who loves to break speed records, a human spy with a talent for changing her appearance, and a foe intent on killing them both.

2025 Gardening Lessons – Warm The Soil More For Warmth-Loving Plants

By Cynthia Sax on October 22, 2025

Some plants like squash/courgettes, zucchini, and eggplant love the warmth.

In 2025, I put black plastic bags on the ground around the butternut squash plants and the zucchini plants when I moved them from the basement grow station to the great outdoors.

These plants did EXTREMELY well (for our garden).

I didn’t do this for the eggplant. And they did EXTREMELY poorly. They dropped leaves. They stopped growing. And that made them a target for insects.

The eggplants only started to flourish when the hot weather came. And in our neighborhood in 2025, that was way too late in the growing season.

In 2026, I plan to put the black plastic bags around the base of the eggplants also. This will heat up the soil, keeping the plants nice and toasty.

And I will remove the black plastic bags once the weather warms.

The black plastic bags will be put away and reused the next Spring.

I’m certain there are many more environmentally-savvy ways to heat the ground around plants, ways that don’t include plastic. And once I’ve researched that, I’ll likely switch to one of those ways.
