I loved Seeking Vector so much I crafted an entire sub-series around his crew (the Cyborg Space Exploration series). (grins)
Vector, the cyborg captain, has a secret no one, including his crew, knows.
Kasia, a female human hacker, is VERY good at uncovering secrets.
They are destined to clash and wowsers, does that collision set off sparks!

A cyborg with a secret… A female seeking the truth…
Vector, the C Model captain of the Freedom, is a cyborg many warriors wish to emulate. He fights fiercely, leads with honor, has earned the respect and loyalty of his crew. But no being, not even a cyborg, is perfect. Since arriving at the Homeland, Vector has been hiding a dark truth about his past. Kasia excels at uncovering secrets. Half a lifespan ago, her curiosity placed her on the Humanoid Alliance’s kill list. Now she has accessed information the cyborg council would prefer remain hidden. Their warriors are hunting her and won’t rest until she’s dead.

Bringing Seedlings Outside
I’m looking at the weather forecasts for the next two weeks and I see NO frost. Yay!
The plants are going outside.
The marigolds will be the first seedlings transplanted. I use them as a border around the vegetable garden. I’m told they ward off the bad bugs like slugs and snails (we have SO many snails – I love them but not in the garden).
I will also be sowing zinnia seeds. I sowed some last month but then we got cold temperatures and none of them sprouted. I’ll try again this week. (I harvested the zinnia seeds from last year’s blooms and have a gazillion of them. So losing a few wasn’t THAT painful.)
The tomatoes and the bell peppers will be likely go out en masse next week.

Intrepid Encounter Cover Reveal!

I DO know it will feature Intrepid. We first met the battle station captain in Releasing Rage.
His genetic match will be the Valkyrie. She has been looking for her stolen dagger and she’ll find much more than that weapon when she meets Intrepid. (grins)

Muse Food – Footprints In The Sand
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were wandering along a beach in Florida when we spotted these footprints in the sand.
The person wasn’t nearby. We don’t know who left these indents on the beach. And I doubt they realized their footprints would last long enough for someone else to see them.
But we all leave tracks, don’t we? We change the world around us merely by existing.
This is true for our characters also.
When Grin, a K model cyborg, met Adam, an all-powerful immortal being, in Grin And Bare Him, he set the deity’s expectation of who and what cyborgs are.
When Strive first meets Adam in Strive For Forever (releasing in July), he has to deal with that expectation. Grin had inadvertently impacted his relationship with the being inhabiting his female’s form.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – May 7
I sent the submission draft of Strive For Forever, the fourth core story in the Cyborg Unity series (releasing in July), to my Awesome Editor on Sunday. Woot! I hope she loves it. (I can’t judge my own writing.)
Then I slept like the dead for almost the entire week. (grins) I also completed some dreaded administrative tasks. And I spent time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby. Plus puttered around the garden.
I’m almost ready to start writing Intrepid Encounter, the fifth and final core story in the Cyborg Unity series. (The next series will likely feature the next generation of cyborgs. YES!) I love Intrepid (We first met him in Releasing Rage.) And I’m excited he’ll be finding his genetic match.

Writing Vs Publishing That Writing
Before delving into this topic, I would like to share that, thanks to reading buddies who pre-order my stories, I consistently cover my publishing costs long before a story is released. T
That removes a major worry for me (and almost all writers). It also gives me an awesome emotional push to start and complete the next story!

The question ‘Would you still write if you weren’t earning income from it?’ regularly makes the rounds on social media.
It is often asked by a writer who is struggling with low or no sales. (Big hugs to them – I’ve been there, my friends.)
It is important to know that writing and publishing that writing are two VERY different things.
Writing can be a hobby. We can do it merely for funsies.
Publishing is almost always a business. As a business, publishing a book has a cost component.
Unless we have money to donate to publishing, we HAVE to make sales from it to cover these costs.
That is an unfortunate requirement.
Writers can, however, continue to write if we don’t earn income from it. Readers just wouldn’t have access to that writing. (Because publishing a story for free still has a cost component to it.)
So…most writers will continue to write even if we don’t earn money from that writing. It is dang hard to deny the muse. (grins) And writing brings many of us tremendous joy.
But we are unlikely to publish that writing. To do that, we have to, at least, cover our costs because…well…we like to eat.

Planet Names
I often use existing planet names for the names of planets in my cyborg romances.
I do this because…well…this information doesn’t get much attention. Many of us, myself included, know the planets in our solar system and that’s it. We don’t realize there are thousands of other named-by-humans planets in our universe. Heck, we are naming planets all the time and very few media outlets cover these amazing developments!
So I use existing planet names, knowing some of my reading buddies will likely do a search on them and uncover their fascinating backgrounds. (smiles)

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Bounty
Warlord’s Bounty was originally the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. It inspired the entire series.
Of the three Warlord brothers, Khan is the most battle-happy. He is skilled at fighting and he loves the physical nature and the challenge of it.
Zeta is the most action-loving bounty hunter in her group. She is daring and brave and a skilled survivor.
When these two warriors meet, it is magical!
Warlord’s Bounty
Wanted: One Barbarian Warrior.
The bigger the bounty, the more dangerous the target.
Khan, a Chamele Warlord, has a huge bounty on his head. His enemy wants him captured and is offering any being in the universe an outrageous number of credits to accomplish that.
Khan wants to be captured, but only if the being apprehending him is a tiny, brown-eyed female with wickedly sharp daggers and an even sharper tongue. His passion for the feisty human can’t be inhibited by restraints. He’ll allow her to subdue him…in a variety of enticing ways.
When she finally collects her credits, he’ll collect his revenge, killing his enemy and claiming his little bounty hunter forever.
Zeta doesn’t do forever. After a lifespan of chasing dangerous beings across galaxies, apprehending and trading them for credits, she doesn’t get involved emotionally…with anyone.
Khan might be fierce and sexy and the most dominant male she has ever encountered, but the barbarian is also her target, and once she sates herself with his body, she’ll betray him.
That’s her job.

Transferring The Seedlings
According to the 14 day forecast, the fear of frost appears to be gone in our corner of the universe. Climate change is advancing the seasons significantly.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby wants to transfer the tomato seedlings from our basement grow station to the backyard garden.
I’m a bit nervous to do this now. Forecasts have been wrong in the past. Our usual last frost date is a week to two weeks away.
So we’re hedging our bets and only transferring a few of the seedlings. (grins) We will still have plenty more if those don’t make it. And this frees up a bit of space in the grow station.
