I wouldn’t be a writer today if it weren’t for libraries and libraries.
Heck, I might not be alive today if it weren’t for them.
My home life was ROUGH and we were very poor. Escaping into books helped me to cope with that.
Public Libraries, of course, have much more than books (though books are enough, aren’t they – smiles). There’s internet and computer access, movies, free workshops, tool rental and much more at my within-easy-walking-distance library.
And there’s community. There are always people in an open public library. Librarians are there to help us and answer questions. Other library patrons have at least one thing in common with us – they use the library (and often they love to learn).
Visiting our local public libraries also helps to ensure these wonderful resources stay open. You’re making a difference in the world simply by walking through the doors!
