Holding Hoarse And Being Worthy Of Love
I believe EVERYONE is worthy of love. (big hugs) We don’t have to change or achieve our definitions of success or do something special to be deserving of caring.
Not everyone BELIEVES they are worthy of love, however. That’s a normal feeling and it is very different from genuinely not being deserving of love.
Hoarse, the C Model hero of Holding Hoarse, doesn’t believe he warrants caring…yet. He is working toward that goal when he meets his female. But that goal is one he has set himself. You and I both know he was already deserving of love during Passion Surge, the previous story. He merely didn’t believe that.
As many of us don’t believe it. That’s natural and okay but it isn’t reality. We DO deserve love.
Many people also aren’t ready for lasting, permanent relationships. They might not be in that emotional space or they might have other goals they are focused on.
This is often the case of the characters in my stories. They are worthy of love (though they might not believe that) but they aren’t yet ready for love. They might get to that point…eventually or (if they’re minor characters) they might be super happy on their own.
You ARE worthy of love, my friend. Don’t ever doubt that. You don’t have to craft perfect dolls, as Hoarse believes, to warrant caring. You already deserve it!

Holding Hoarse And Harvest
In Holding Hoarse, the children are participating in a joyous end of harvest celebration. End of harvest is a common celebration in my stories.
Why?
Because end of harvest is celebrated in almost all cultures, all religions right here on Earth. (Thanksgiving is the primary North American celebration of the harvest.) We all need to eat. Much of our food comes from crops.
Being a former farmgal, I understand how much hard work harvest is and what a relief, what a source of happiness a solid harvest is. Many factors influence crop yields. A good harvest feels like a blessing and is certainly a reason for celebration.
I doubt this would change on other inhabitable planets. Alien species need some sort of energy inputs or nourishment. I suspect much of that would come from plants and, if the planet has seasons/temperature changes, there would likely be an ideal time to harvest those plants.
Then it would be party time. (laughs) It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a being benefiting from a good harvest, would be in want of a celebration.

Holding Hoarse – Friends To Lovers AND Instalove/Fated To Mate
Holding Hoarse, my gift this year to you, is both a friends to lovers romance AND an instalove/fated to mate/love at first sight romance.
How is that possible?
Cyborgs recognize their genetic matches through their voices, their scents, their touch. They usually know within moments that a female (or male or other) is theirs.
Hoarse, however, doesn’t hear Arlicia’s voice, smell her scent, touch her right away. He originally reaches out to her through text communications and interacts with her thousands of times via solely the written word before speaking with her.
During that time, they become friends…of sorts. There’s a fascination, a mutual admiration, an interest between them but it doesn’t become lust until they speak.
Before that first conversation occurs, Hoarse, as a friend does, relays some of his…inadequacies to Arlicia. This complicates the leap from friends to lovers.
