In Drift Would, when Drift and Cure approach the debris field, they’re told they’ve entered space temporarily controlled by Syndiculous 5, the planet Strike’s female’s mom presides over.
Yes, someone has to take control of the security for the sector. But that entity isn’t Syndiculous 5. At least, not yet.
Syndiculous 5 has merely assumed responsibility for the removal of the debris field as it is situated (intentionally) on a major trade route for the planet.
Also because Strike processes more of his brethren will be navigating through that debris field on the way to completing the mission. (grins) He’s helping that mission.

Drift Would And Fated Mates
The Cancris, the humanoid inhabitants of Cancri B, in Drift Would believe in Fated Mates. They believe there is a being in the universe you are meant to be with, love, build a family with (a family of two is very much a family).
This belief is a logical extension of their faith in the three Fates, deities who guide beings in life. These Fates would also guide beings toward the being they were destined to love.
The Cancris’ belief in Fated Mates, of course, ties in very well with the cyborgs’ belief in genetic matches. (smiles)

Gardening, Climate Change And Bad Growing Years
This summer has been a VERY bad year for some gardeners in the Northern Hemisphere.
It is cold one day and extremely hot the next. There are hail storms, tornadoes, floods, drought, fires (sometimes several of these at once). The insects seem to either be missing or there are WAY too many of them. Animals like squirrels and groundhogs have been super aggressive.
It is challenging to have a productive garden.
I’ve been taking a few steps to try to increase my odds.
I grow plants as big as possible in the basement grow station. Sometimes I’ll keep ‘spares’ of plants in case the squirrels dig up and shred the ones I have recently transplanted.
I grow mini versions of some vegetables. Cherry tomatoes ripen much faster than those big beefsteak tomatoes. Mini bell peppers ripen faster than the full size bell peppers.
Growing vegetables in multiple locations sometimes also helps. The creatures are leaving the containers of eggplants situated on the deck alone, as one example. They are disturbing daily the containers of eggplants set on the grass.

Does Drift Would Have A Cliffhanger?
A reading buddy asked me if she should wait until Claiming Cure releases to read Drift Would. She’s worried Drift Would has a cliffhanger.
If you believe Strike Zone has a cliffhanger i.e. the mission wasn’t completed, then you likely believe Drift Would has a cliffhanger. The entire mission hasn’t yet been completed.
But there’s a resting spot. And there’s a solid romance ending for Drift and Roshini.
For me, as both a reader and a writer, that isn’t my definition of a cliffhanger.
But everyone’s definition is a bit different.

Muse Food – Different Types Of Packs And Containers
The Dear Wonderful Hubby spotted this super cool bird carrier backpack in a grocery store and got the person’s permission to photograph it.
We, humans, like our pets and our stuff. We like to bring our pets and our stuff with us. That means we need something to carry them in. And there are as many different types of packs and containers as there are things and beings/animals to carry.
Our book characters would likely have the same variety of packs/containers to choose from.

Drift Would And The Fates
Many of the beings in the sector neighboring the cyborg’s sector believe in the Fates. The Fates are three deities who help guide beings. They help beings find their fated mates and to fulfill their destinies.
In both Strike Zone and Drift Would, there’s a mysterious being who might or might not be one of the Fates. She is unlike any being the cyborgs have ever encountered.
And she has helped them connected with their genetic matches. I suspect she also helped them with their missions (their part of the greater mission).
Is she a Fate? We don’t know.
But I do know this isn’t the last we’ve seen of her. (grins)

Release Day For Drift Would
Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series, has released!
