Nicolas And His Ultimatum
Nicolas issues an ultimatum to Bee in Sinful Rewards 7. Your first impression might be “What a controlling a$$hole” but Nicolas DOES have his reasons. He’s thinking of Bee and wants to protect her. Why doesn’t he tell her this? Well, if he voices his suspicions of what or whom he thinks he’s protecting her from, he might hurt her even more.
Mack And The Other Motorcycle Club Members
In Sinful Rewards 7, we meet some of the men Hawke hangs out with in the Organization and at The Road Gator. We’ve already met Dawg (in Sinful Rewards 3) and Eighty Proof, the bartender (though we didn’t find out his name in that installment). In Sinful Rewards 7, we meet Mack and Prick.
I love these two men, especially Mack. They will play increasingly large roles in the story. In this installment, that Prick is clueless about women hints to Bee that Hawke’s men might need her, something that’s very important to our heroine.
Speaking of Hawke’s buddies, we find out more about Rock, the buddy he lost in the war. Sinful Rewards 7 is very much about friendship, the good, the bad, and the silly. Can a friendship survive a betrayal? Can we be truly happy if a good friend is unhappy (or, in Rock’s case, dead)?

Nicolas And His Tree
Nicolas isn’t taking the loss of his tree well. It may seem strange, a billionaire grieving a tree, but this shows us how deeply Nicolas feels, how he hides these feelings, how when he creates a bond, even with a plant, it lasts.
Bee is given the opportunity to care for him during Sinful Rewards 6. This means a lot, both to Bee (who needs to be needed) and to Nicolas (who isn’t accustomed to be cared for and equates this with love).
How Far Do We Go For Loved Ones?
In Sinful Rewards 1, Nicolas tells Bee “When I see something, someone I want, I’ll do anything, even destroy long-lasting friendships, to stake my claim.”
In Sinful Rewards 6, Hawke tells Bee “I killed for my country. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”
These seem like very similar declarations. Both men will stop at nothing to claim Bee. But the phrasing is key, indicative of their thinking.
Bee loves her mom dearly. There’s no question about that. But she has always focused on how her mom’s actions (both past and present) have messed up her life.
As Bee’s own life comes crashing down around her ears, she better understands her mom’s situation, how easily a reputation can be ruined, how much sh*t her mom had to deal with. She also realizes, in Sinful Rewards 6, that her actions have the ability to hurt her mom. Although this is a tiny scene, it completely changes Bee’s view of the world.

The Meaning Of Hawke’s Tattoos
Hawke has three tattoos.
He has a barbed wire tattoo encircling his right bicep. He rubs this image whenever he’s thinking of his best friend, Rock.
He has USMC printed on his left pec (over his heart) which stands for United States Marine Corps. All four men in his fireteam, including Hawke and Rock, got the same tattoo.
Hawke’s largest tattoo, wings with a center sun etched across his collarbone, has a more complicated story, which he shares in Sinful Rewards 5. Bee interprets this story one way. Hawke interprets it another way.
Nicolas Opens Up
Nicolas finally shares why he doesn’t like Cyndi’s father (why he won’t allow Cyndi in his club) in Sinful Rewards 5. This is also one of the reasons why he deliberately acts like an asshole, pushing everyone away. Our billionaire isn’t perfect, which makes him, IMHO, more interesting.
That Cyndi’s father can mess up a confident, intelligent man like Nicolas also hints why Cyndi is so broken.
Why Hawke Became A Marine
Hawke shares why he became a Marine.
“You’re bored.” I pat pressed powder over my shiny nose. “You don’t have to stay.” I force the words, wanting him to stay, to keep me company.
“There’s nowhere on earth I’d rather be than right here.” Hawke’s low rumble rolls over me, lighting fires we have no time to tend. “There are many reasons to go to war. Some men fight for their children. Some men fight for the glory. Some men fight because their fathers fought and their grandfathers fought. I fought to protect moments like these, the quiet moments everyone takes for granted.”
I meet his gaze in the mirror, not expecting poetry from my rough, tough military man. “You don’t take them for granted.”
“No, I don’t.” Sadness flits across Hawke’s face. “I’ve seen too much to do that.”

What Is In Hawke’s Pockets?
In every novella, we’ve received more hints about the object Hawke carries with him everywhere.
Sinful Rewards 1 – The bike creaks as he shifts his weight, bringing my attention to his powerful thighs. Denim stretches across two oval-shaped objects hidden in his front right pocket.
Sinful Rewards 3 – I close my eyes, savoring his petting, conscious of his body under mine, solid and hard and unyielding. A small oval-shaped object is hidden in his front right pocket. I trace the shape with my fingertips round and round, the action calming me.
Sinful Rewards 3 – Hawke strides toward the back of the building, his hands stuffed in the front pocket of his jeans, his gait loose, his tread soundless. He turns into an alley and disappears, his big body sucked into the shadows.
We know this object is important to him. In Sinful Rewards 4, we find out what the object is and why he values it.
Bee’s Hometown Of Happydale
In Sinful Rewards 4, Bee returns home to Happydale. Happydale is a fictional town. However, it is based on the very real town of Monee. I changed the name because the people living in Monee are wonderful and the people living in Happydale… well… not-so-much. I didn’t want anyone to mistake one of Bee’s arch enemies for a kind, gentle Monee soul.
Bee’s Issue With Being Vertically Challenged
Bee is short. She claims to be average-sized and is offended if anyone calls her tiny.
In Sinful Rewards 4, we finally get a hint WHY she wants to be average-sized.
Hawke chuckles. “You’re tiny, sweetheart.” He fastens the straps under my chin. “There’s nothing average about you.”
“You say that like it’s a good thing,” I mumble, having no wish to be less, wanting to be more, to become all the woman a man could ever desire.
“It’s a very good thing.” Hawke cups my chin, raising my gaze to meet his. My breath hitches, the emotion in his broad blunt face enthralling me, pulling me under.

Bee receives some crushing news in Sinful Rewards 3. Nicolas, Hawke, Lona, and Cyndi respond to this news in very different ways. We’ll talk about what this says about them and their relationship with Bee.
Biker Bars
The street is reassuringly well lit, the streetlights supplemented by the headlights on hundreds of very pretty motorcycles. No, not pretty, I mentally correct myself, remembering how upset Hawke had been when I called his bike pretty. They’re manly. . .and beautiful. Handsome? I frown, searching for the right word.
“Come on, slowpoke.” Cyndi grabs my wrist, pulls me forward, toward the entrance to the Road Gator. The sign is lit in neon green. Leather-clad men lounge around their bikes. They turn their heads and then straighten, their perusal escalating my anxiety.
Hawke’s favorite biker bar is called The Road Gator. A road gator is a dangerous scrap of tire left on the pavement. It can cause a serious accident if bikers aren’t aware of it.
Why is this an appropriate name for the bar? Are there road gators in Bee’s life that she should be aware of? And, of course, we’ll be sharing funny bar and restaurant names. (grins)

Pretty Bikes
Hawke rides a customized chopper. Bee makes the mistake of calling his bike pretty in Sinful Rewards 2.
This is his response
“Pretty?” He scowls, appearing deeply offended, lines grooved around his mouth. “Paintings are pretty. You’re pretty.”
He thinks I’m pretty. My soul fills with happiness.
“Bikes aren’t pretty, sweetheart. They’re powerful machines.” Hawke turns the key in the ignition, clutches the throttle and revs the engine, the sound vibrating through my chest. “One thousand CCs, like having a beast between your legs,” he shouts, quieting the machine once more.
One of the many things I love about Hawke is he’s big and he’s bad and he doesn’t feel the need to prove himself to anyone. He rides a ‘pretty’ bike, not caring if other men (or women) think less of him for doing so. In my opinion, this makes him even more of a bada$$ than if he had ridden the classic black Harley.
How To Train A Billionaire
Nicolas and Bee got off to a rocky start in Sinful Rewards 1. Their first meeting didn’t progress as she’d fantasized.
This scene indicates there might be hope for their relationship.
“Hello, Nicolas,” I purr, attempting to duplicate Lona LaMarre’s husky tones.
“This is Nicolas Rainer,” the billionaire barks, his voice curt. “Meet me in five minutes. Outside your office.” The phone clicks and there’s silence.
Nicolas introduced himself this time. I grin. Billionaire bachelors can be trained.
Nicolas is a successful, driven man. When Bee suggests he introduce himself when he calls and not assume everyone recognizes his voice/number, he implements this suggestion immediately.
Would he do this with someone he didn’t trust, he didn’t care for? If he’s willing to make this change, what else is he willing to do for Bee?
