Muse Food – Maps
I LOVE maps. They not only give us a great snapshot of the layout of an area but they also reflect what the mapmaker felt was important.
(The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this replica of an old map on the Norwegian Getaway.)
Military folks want maps that show key military sites. Mountain climbers want maps that show elevations. Folks who are concerned about fresh water supplies want maps that show lakes and rivers and other bodies of water.
If the hero or heroine of the story you’re now writing or reading crafted a map, what would they show on it?

Raw Desires
His human female is attempting to kill him.
This cyborg finds that adorable.
Raw, a K model cyborg, is one of the lucky warriors who has located his genetic match. He hears his human female’s voice over the communication lines and immediately processes she is his.
Winning her affections will be a greater challenge. Battle has always been Raw’s focus. The rough-and-tough warrior has no idea how to engage anyone’s tender emotions.
Fortunately, he isn’t alone in the universe. His unmatched male friends help him craft a plan.
All Raw has to do is relay a few unsettlingly sweet words to his female and give her the thoroughly unfunctional wall decoration he has obtained. He projects she will then jump into his big, strong arms and beg him to claim her.
Taytu isn’t jumping anywhere. She has one mission—kill every cyborg in existence.
The huge, handsome male traveling to meet with her is her first target. His rough hands, firm lips, and sparkling, energy-infused eyes won’t save him from her vengeance. She has trained vigorously for this moment, and she won’t fail at her assigned task.
The cyborg will die.

Muse Food – Collections
I LOVE looking at other people’s collections. I find that super inspiring.
(This collection was displayed on the Norwegian Getaway.)
I like to hear what started them on collecting that particular thing. There’s usually a great character-telling story behind it. That story is unique to the person and it shows us what they value.
I also like to see the little differences in the items in the collection. That helps me remember to note the little details in objects appearing in my stories. Because those little details make them special. They make them worth ‘collecting.’

Muse Food – Portholes
In my stories, my characters refer to windows as portholes.
(This porthole was spotted in the Steampunk exhibit on the Norwegian Getaway.)
Spaceship terminology is often based on sailing ship terminology. And sailing ships had portholes, round highly secured waterproof windows.
The portholes in the cyborg world aren’t all round. That is often an impractical shape especially for planet-based structures.
But I DO often think of them as being round. (grins)
