Actions have consequences.
This is true here on Earth. And it is true in the cyborg world.
In Intrepid Encounter, Intrepid disobeyed Power, the leader of the cyborg council. Intrepid and the entire crew of the Dauntless were reprimanded. They were demoted to secondary patrol along an isolated part of the cyborg sector border.
What they don’t realize is… this reprimand might be the best thing to ever happen to many of them. AND it will impact the safety of every being within the cyborg sector and perhaps throughout the universe.

A cyborg devoted to duty…and to her.

While attending a party, Kesser, the daughter of her planet’s leader, witnesses the abduction of her best friend and her best friend’s mate.
She’s determined to rescue them. Preferably without fracturing the fragile peace agreement her mom has crafted with the abductors’ planet.
The only issue is…she has never participated in a retrieval mission.
Searching for assistance, she approaches the mate’s guard. The male, with his big, broad shoulders and deep growly voice, affects her like no other being ever has.
Kesser wants him. She trusts him. And she requires his stealth combat skills.

She’s also traveling to the next planet he has to search. He plans to claim his female while he fulfills his responsibilities to his kind.

Throwback Thursday – The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby is a nod to the classic secret baby trope.
A couple (or more) has wild, we-might-die, last moment loving. One or all of the beings trek off to war. One of those beings has a baby and has no way of contacting the other being(s) still at war. The being at war returns and discovers they have a ‘secret’ baby.
Except Zebrina, the human heroine of The Cyborg’s Secret Baby, believes her cyborg warrior has died in battle. She doesn’t think he’ll ever return from war.
Stealth hasn’t died. He’s very much alive and, once he’s able to do so, he’s determined to reclaim his female…and the offspring he never processed they had.
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
A fierce cyborg warrior and his curvy human female share a no-longer-so-little secret.
Stealth, a K Model cyborg, knows his passion for Zebrina, the commander’s human daughter, is forbidden, yet he can’t resist the curvy female. He craves her touch, cherishes her sounds of pleasure, would do anything to keep her safe.

Gardening – Composting With Shredded Paper
In our corner of the universe, the city picks up recycling, including shredded paper.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I still prefer to compost our shredded paper whenever possible.
Why?
Because we can be assured it isn’t going to the landfill. Plus it is a great source of browns in the compost bin.
Because we have a LOT of leaves for the garden-destined bigger compost bin, we compost the shredded paper in the former garbage bins we now use for composting. This compost is destined for uses like banking the house (which improves the gradient and decreases the chances of our basement flooding) and patching holes in the yard.
We don’t shredded shiny paper, envelopes with the plastic windows or shiny receipts. But other than that, all other paper goes into the compost bin.

Strike Zone – Strike And Kesser
Strike Zone, the first core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in February), features Strike and Kesser.
Strike, the Dauntless’s duty-driven Second-in-Command, claimed that name because he is a take-action type of cyborg. He’ll strike hard and fast to protect the beings he loves (and to please the female he adores – grins).
Kesser is named after a wonderful customer service person I ‘met’ during a series of interactions while I was ordering something special for my Awesome Mom. I loved that name. With one vowel change, it becomes Kisser. (grins) That’s fun.

Muse Food – The Little Delights
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were trekking along a rock-covered shore and we spotted this little snail hidden among the rocks.
There are little creatures all around us. They might be too little for our eyes to see without help. Or they could be hidden. Or they could be merely…small. (smiles)
That is true in the worlds we build also. Not every creature or other type of life form will be easily visible. But they are likely there. And they might cause chaos or invoke delight in your characters.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – January 7
Strike Zone is back with my Awesome Editor. The story works! That’s always a relief. (grins) And I love it so very much. It needs at least one more round of edits before it is ready to be sent to my Wonderful Formatter, the Dear Wonderful Hubby.
This week, I’ll be thinking about Drift’s story – who Drift is as a cyborg, as a pilot, as a being, who his heroine is, what that first scene will look like, etc. I love this stage of the story, all the imaginings and what ifs!

Muse Food – Little Bits Of Magic
When the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were last in BC, Canada, we spotted this fairy door during one of our treks.
The fairy door was situated at the base of a beautiful tree and was surrounded by brightly painted rocks.
It was a bit of unexpected magic.
We were enchanted by it. (smiles)
It is a good reminder of one of my goals for my stories. I’m attempting to create a little bit more magic in this wonderful, already magical world.
