Flash Fiction: Kissing The Reaper
Here is my answer to this week’s Flash Fiction!
“You’re not supposed to be here.” A tall lean figure garbed in a long black cloak hovered at the foot of Matt’s bed. Moonlight reflected off the blade of his scythe.
“I couldn’t stay away.” An equally tall purple alien stood with his feet braced apart. “I know we have to take this human.”
They turned their heads toward Matt. The alien’s catlike eyes glowed. Under the grim reaper’s hood was a hole of endless nothingness. Matt slid deeper under the covers, his body shaking with fear.
“But we won’t take him tonight,” the grim reaper murmured, his words echoing in the small bedroom.
“Not tonight.” The alien surged forward, gripped the reaper’s shoulders and captured his nemesis’s mouth. The reaper pushed back, grasping purple muscle with his skeletal hands. They battled for sexual supremacy, two powerful beings intent on dominating the other.

St. Patrick’s Day Flash Fiction
Here is a St. Patrick’s Day piece of flash fiction!
***
Thrax swung through the doors of O’Leary’s, his favorite paranormal bar, and he scowled. Green streamers hung from the ceiling. Giant shamrocks covered the bar. Drunken green-clad patrons clicked together tankards of green beer, the alcohol sloshing onto the wooden floor.
It looked like a greed demon had exploded, green everywhere.
Thrax stomped toward the bar. Only for his green fairy would he attend a St. Patrick’s Day party. He’d need an entire keg of that green beer to get him through tonight.
“Wait a minute.” Shannon, fairy, bar owner, and his future mate, hovered before him, her green wings flapping. There wasn’t much of her, her curly head not even reaching his shoulder, but what little there was had been arranged nicely, her short flirty dress barely containing her curves.
“You knew the dress code, Thrax.” Her bottom lip curled, her emerald eyes reflecting her disappointment.
He would suck on that pouting lip before the night was through. “I’ll be wearing green when I leave, fairy.”
She frowned. “How do you–”
He grinned.
“Oh.” Her face flushed to a rich forest green.

A Writer’s Imagination
Here’s my answer to this week’s flash fiction challenge!
I’m hunched over my keyboard, furiously typing, rushing to finish the last two hundred words of the story I’m working on. The mysterious alien being is revealing his true selves to the heroine. She gapes at his multiple forms, reaches out, and—
“I’m home!” the hubby hollers. It’s Friday, which means his weekend has started.
“Ugh.” I grimace, my weekend remaining two hundred words away. “I’m in a story right now.”
Reiter the Unicorn Prince, prances past, laughing that annoying laugh of his, searching for the Bookdragon.
“This isn’t your story, hay burner,” I mumble, ignoring Reiter’s antics.
The human heroine runs her trembling fingers over her now-multiple heroes’ bare chests.
“Whoa,” a deep voice rumbles behind me.
I look over my shoulder. The hubby is staring up at a huge two-headed green dragon. I blink. “How did you get in here?”
“Where am I?” He taps a large green scale with one of his fingertips.
“My imagination.”

Flash Fiction: Claudia’s Cowboy
I wrote this flash fiction for Claudia’s birthday (one of my reading buddies). Happy birthday Claudia!
“I told that chirpy assistant of yours I wasn’t interested.” Travis Trent, owner of the Circle T, stood with his denim-clad legs braced apart and his black Stetson pulled low, the brim shadowing his sky-blue eyes. “This is a working ranch, not one of your fancy Hollywood sets.”
Beth tilted her head back and gazed up, up, up at the big cowboy. “I’m the chirpy assistant and, as I explained on the phone, Miss Claudia needs to experience a working ranch to research her role.”
“You’re the assistant,” Travis scoffed. “Yeah, right. I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck, lady. I know an actress when I see one.” He perused her slowly, his gaze skimming over her form, as intimate as any caress. “And you’re too purty to be anything other than an actress.” He paused at her scuffed cowboy boots and his jet-black eyebrows lifted. “Wearing borrowed boots.”
This big hulk of a man thinks I’m pretty? Beth blinked, accustomed to being overlooked and invisible. “These are my boots.” She stepped toward him. Heat rolled off his muscular body, enticing her even closer. “And they’re staying planted right here until you agree.”
