The Seen Trilogy – L.A.
He Watches Me is set in Los Angeles.
I love L.A. I’ve visited the city quite a few times as I have friends living there. As with any large city, the neighborhoods in L.A. are quite diverse. There are wealthy neighborhoods and not-so-wealthy neighborhoods.
He Watches Me is set in the L.A. we often see on TV. Yes, we explore areas such as the posh shopping mecca of Rodeo Drive and the equally ritzy Beverly Hills. This makes sense as Blaine, the hero, is a billionaire and Anna, the much less affluent heroine, is house-sitting the mansion next door.
L.A. is also noted for having great weather, weather conducive to getting naked and swimming in the neighbor’s pool. This happens… often, much to Blaine’s enjoyment.

I’m like a ghost. I drift aimlessly through the Leigh’s empty Beverly Hills mansion, my bare feet slapping against the painted gray concrete floor, shoes not allowed in the sprawling modern bungalow.
I’m not dead. I move the oversized, never-been-opened book staged on the chrome coffee table an inch to the right. I’m breathing. I flick one light on and turn another light off, maintaining the minimum required amount of illumination. I have a physical form. I rearrange some of the catalogues, creating the illusion that they have been recently placed on the modern glass table, all of the stores featured priced out of a new graduate’s budget. But I’m not living, not truly, and no one sees me … which is how I like it.
