Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – June 25th
I didn’t start writing Intrepid Encounter, the fifth core story in the Cyborg Unity series (releasing in November), this week because I received final edits on Strive For Forever (releasing in July)! Woot!
Strive’s story has now been finalized and loaded at booksellers. We are good to go. (grins)
This week, I’ll be sharing the first scene from Strive For Forever. And I am starting to write Intrepid Encounter.

Strive For Forever
This cyborg seeks to vanquish an ancient entity and save his curvy human female.
Euryale made a terrible mistake. She opened a container she shouldn’t have touched and released one of the oldest lifeforms in existence. That all-powerful entity is now utilizing her as its host body and is slowly draining her energy.
Soon, she’ll die.

Pre-Order Blurbs
I’ve listed Intrepid Encounter, the fifth core story in the Cyborg Unity series (releasing in November), at booksellers.
The blurb, like all my early pre-order blurbs, is VERY rough. I’m not yet happy with it and it hasn’t been edited at all. (I can feel my editor wincing. – sheepish grin)
But it gives you a flavor for the story, that it features Intrepid and the Valkyrie and is very much an enemies-to-lovers romance.

Throwback Thursday – Choosing Chuckles
If you’re looking for a grumpy sunshine cyborg romance, my choice out of my published stories would be Choosing Chuckles.
Chuckles, a wounded warrior, is the grumpiest cyborg I’ve ever written. He has a good reason for that grumpiness. He is constantly in pain. And no medics and none of his nanocybotics can repair him.

Cyborgs And Language Skills
Raw, the cyborg hero of Raw Desires, struggles with expressing himself verbally. He is a take action type of warrior and that is how he prefers to communicate – with actions.
Strive, the cyborg hero of Strive For Forever, the upcoming fourth core story in the Cyborg Unity series, in contrast is likely the most adept at words cyborg I’ve written thus far. When he allows himself to communicate freely, he is quite poetic. He paints word pictures. He says the most romantic things.
Raw and Strive are the same model type. Yet they have vastly different skill levels with languages.
I find that intriguing.

Muse Food – Peacocks And Who Does The Courting
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this magnificent peacock in a community in Florida, USA.
This is a peacock, a male. We didn’t take many photos of the peahens, the females, because they are much, MUCH plainer.
We can tell, at a glance, who does the courting in that species. The males put on a grand show. The females sit back and evaluate.
I think about that when I build alien worlds. Who does the courting? Who has to impress their potential mates? How does that change the dynamic or their appearance or their behavior?

Scheduling Posts
I DO schedule posts here on Taste Of Cyn.
I do this for a number of reasons.
When I’m deep into writing a new story, often that’s all I want to work on. If I have a few posts already scheduled, I can skip posting for the day and focus on that delicious new story.
But the most common reason is…I can post about the story I’m currently working on without torturing you or posting spoilers. And these insights will be new and exciting for me.
For example, I’m currently working on the first draft of Intrepid Encounter, the fifth core story in the Cyborg Unity series. That story won’t release until November at the earliest.
If I posted today about all the AWESOME tidbits I’m learning about Valkyries, you would likely send me a message and ask me why the heck I’m talking about a story that won’t release for half a year. (grins)
Instead of doing that, I dump all that good stuff into a post I’ll schedule for closer to Intrepid Encounter’s release date. At that time, I’ll likely be working on Choice’s story.

This might seem to be an unusual decisions, especially as cyborgs are designed to operate best in groups and as cyborgs love to take action. (grins) They rarely want to miss a battle.
But the mission leaders also process how hard everyone fought to reach the cyborg-controlled sector. They process how special that place is for their brethren. And they process there is a very real possibility any cyborg situated outside the sector could be recaptured by the enemy, by the Humanoid Alliance. They could lose their freedom and, likely, their lives.
It is a BIG request to ask other cyborgs to leave the sector on a private mission.
If mission leaders can handle their assignment solo, they go alone, risking only their own lives and their own freedom.

This cyborg seeks to vanquish an ancient entity and save his curvy human female.
Euryale made a terrible mistake. She opened a container she shouldn’t have touched and released one of the oldest lifeforms in existence. That all-powerful entity is now utilizing her as its host and is slowly draining her energy.
