Gardening – Indoor Geranium Update
Before our first frost, I dug out my geraniums, put them in pots, and brought them inside the house.
They all survived that stressful process and are now thriving. There are so many flowers and they are growing quite vigorously.
A couple months before our last frost, I plan to take cuttings of these plants and put those in pots. I hope to have an entire section of one of the flower beds filled with geraniums! I think they’ll look pretty.
I’ve heard that butterflies and hummingbirds like geraniums.

Intrepid Encounter And Feeding Cyborgs
Cyborgs have efficient systems.
They don’t require liquids. All their liquids recirculate in their forms.
And they can survive on very little food.
They can SURVIVE on that. They thrive on A LOT of food. And the bigger they are the more they can eat. The huge C Models like Choice can eat an amazing quantity of food.
They eat so much that others know to grab their food before the C Models start eating.

Muse Food – Clocks And Making Things Up
I told a new-to-me person I was a writer.
His lips twisted. And he said, “Oh. You just make sh*t up.”
Yes. That’s what I do. I make sh*t up.
But almost everything in our modern lives is made up sh*t.
Sunsets and sunrises, for example, are real. We see those happen. Animals and birds and other living beings experience them also.
8:00 am or 7:00 pm? That’s made up sh*t. Those time references were created to make life easier for us humans. We can tell friends, “Meet at the pub at 5:00 pm.” And they’ll know when they’re expected to be there. We don’t have to look at the placement of the sun or stars to figure that out.
Cars, money, our jobs, what our homes look like, the clothes we wear, our governments and almost everything around us is made up sh*t.
It is all world building in real time. Millions of people over thousands of years built our worlds here on Earth by making sh*t up.
My reply to the person who told me I just made sh*t up?
“Everyone makes sh*t up. They merely don’t realize it.”

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 17
Strike Zone, the first core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in February), is with my Awesome Editor. I love this story so fraggin’ much.
You might be thinking…if the editing process has started, why will Strike Zone release in February and not in January?
It will release in February due to the holidays. Editors like to take holidays also. (grins) As do writers. Our families kind of expect to see us. Plus there’s holiday baking. Who doesn’t like holiday baking?
Everything takes a bit longer over the holidays. And that’s okay.
This week, I’ll be relaxing and I’ll start to think about the next story. I haven’t yet decided if it will center around Drift, the Dauntless’s pilot, or Cure, the Dauntless’s medic. These two stories happen over the same timeline so either one could be next.
Have a wonderful week, my friends. (tackle hugs) Indulge in some of that yummy holiday baking (either the eating of it or the baking of it). Consider treating a few birds to some birdseed, their version of holiday baking. (grins) If the squirrels indulge in some of that birdseed, hey, that’s okay. Not all gifts end up with the beings we intended to give them to. That’s one of the quirks of this wonderful life!

Intrepid, Power And Doing The Right Thing
Intrepid, the hero of Intrepid Encounter and the captain of the Dauntless, and Power, the hero of Seizing Power and the leader of the Cyborg Council, often don’t agree on decisions.
They both believe their stance is the ‘right’ solution.
And it often IS the right solution…for different groups of beings.
Intrepid tends to focus on the individual. What is the right thing to do for that being? That often means putting other beings, sometimes a LOT of other beings, in danger.
Power almost always focuses on the group. What is the right thing to do to ensure most of the cyborgs, genetic matches, offspring, under his leadership are protected? That sometimes means destroying an individual cyborg’s happiness.
Power usually ‘wins’ in the end. Because he has the backing of the group he defends. That doesn’t mean his decision is always the right one.

Gardening Indoors – Snake Plant Reproduction
The ground outside is frozen. It is too early to start seeds indoors.
So I’m focusing on my indoor plants right now.
One of my favorite indoor plants is the snake plant officially known as the Dracaena trifasciata. It is GREAT at cleaning the air. It only has to be watered about once a month. And it grows okay in all types of light, including corners of rooms.
The above photo shows my attempt to reproduce a snake plant by cutting one strand into pieces. YouTube snake plant experts claim this works. As you can see, it didn’t work for me.
I plan to now wait until they reproduce naturally and overfill their pots and then I’ll split them. This takes in our home about ten years to do.
I’m not in a big rush. (grins)

Why Strike’s Story Is Next
In Intrepid Encounter, we met the crew of the Dauntless, Intrepid’s battle station. Every being on and off the bridge is unique. Grid is the jokester. Drift has a need for speed. Cure is focused on curing beings. Choice is the youngest. Strike is the loyal, responsible one.
So why is Strike’s story next?
Strike’s story is next because he’s second-in-command. Similar to how he was the first to volunteer to fight the Valkyrie, he would also be the first warrior Intrepid considers to lead a mission.
And there IS a mission coming up for the crew of the Dauntless. It is important as in save-the-universe levels of importance. (grins)
