Throwback Thursday – Ghost Of A Machine
If you’ve read Testing Truth, you likely know why today’s Throwback Thursday choice is Ghost Of A Machine. (grins) This story will give reading buddies more in-depth insights into the next section of the series (Containing Malice is releasing in February!).
I adore Ghost. This C Model is so very broken and he is key to…well…EVERY cyborg romance I’ve written. He is the cyborg who saved Joan, Rage’s female, the very first found cyborg female. I love him to bits and he was in my thoughts while writing many of the cyborg romances.
I think Lethe is the only female who could have put him back together again after the universe shattered him. He’ll never be a fully functional cyborg. There is a legitimate reason why he and Lethe and their family is isolated on their own planet. But Lethe accepts his damage. She loves him even more for having survived his traumatic past.
Fragile. Stubborn. His.

Throwback Thursday A Day Late – Dark Fire
I lost track of the days again. Having day-specific posts during a period when no one knows what day it is might have been a bad idea. (sheepish grin)
Anyhoo…
I LOVE dragons. My first published story as Cynthia Sax was a medieval dragon shifter romance (that story has been greatly expanded and will be re-released under C.S. Sax this month). Dragons are big, bad, primitive and they breathe FIRE. I find that to be so very awesome.
Dare, the Dracheon warrior hero in Dark Fire, is a nod to dragon shifters. He can’t shift into dragon form. I haven’t yet figured out a plausible scientific explanation for that. But he CAN breathe fire, he can cover his hunky body with scales, and he has talons. Plus he has the same primitive nature.
Faylee, his heroine, is one of the best thieves on Carinae E. She is tiny and quick and Dare’s inner beast definitely sees her as prey. There’s a bit of capture fantasy in Dark Fire. These two are HOT together.
Dark Fire
What the Beast wants, the Beast gets.
Dare’s savage nature has made him an outcast among his kind. The silver-scaled Dracheon warrior can’t control his inner beast. It’s too strong. When his primitive instincts told him his destined mate was on Carinae E, he had no choice. He had to travel to the outlaw planet. There, he hoped to meet a female powerful enough to survive his Drache.
He finds Faylee, a delicate little human.
Faylee is the best thief on the planet. Everyone she encounters mistakes her for a young boy…except for a tall, shiny warrior from off-planet. When she gazes into Dare’s flame-filled eyes, he makes her feel, for the first time, like a desirable female. The fire-breathing male has her yearning for hot kisses, fierce embraces, and a future filled with love. She doesn’t realize mating with him might be the last thing she ever does.
Dare’s beast isn’t the only danger on the planet. An enemy from the past has returned and he’s determined to stop Dare and Faylee…permanently. They’ll need luck and the assistance of every warrior in the Refuge to stay alive.

Throwback Thursday – Defying Death
Defying Death draws an emotional reaction from me as it is one of the first stories of mine to endure a troll attack. A group of so-called Amazon ‘reviewers’ bombarded the story with 1 star reviews, hoping to stop readers from picking it up and seeking to discourage me from writing more cyborg romances.

That attack didn’t stop me from continuing the series. I am extremely proud about that. It reaffirmed my love for writing and for cyborg romances, made me even more determined to tell my cyborgs’ stories.
I love this story also. I love that Death was willing to trade his life for one wonderful moment with his female, for one taste of love. I love Tifara’s passion around viruses. I’m equally passionate about cyborg romances and completely understood her feelings.
I love the two of them together. They are magical.
Defying Death

Throwback Thursday – Dark Strength
I remembered what day it is. (grins) I’m very proud of myself.
Today’s featured story – Dark Strength – is super timely as we were talking about puffkers yesterday. Balvan, the hero of Dark Strength, has a weakness for tiny creatures. When the Refuge’s giant green gatekeeper finds injured or under nourished creatures, he rescues and tends to them, nursing them back to full health.
Elyce, the heroine of Dark Strength, needs tending to. She has fled a life of abuse and is battered and wary of all beings.
Elyce and Balvan are magic together. They understand each other and both grow stronger once they meet.
There is a lot of love, fluffy little creatures and skull crushing in Dark Strength. I love this story.

Throwback Thursday A Day Late – Crash And Burn
Yes, I’m a day late. I spent all yesterday thinking it was Wednesday. (sheepish grin) I would blame it on the Great Pause except I’ve worked at home for years. I merely lost track of the days. (grins) That happens.
In Crash and Burn, the cyborgs return to Tau Ceti. Tau Ceti was where Vapor from Breathing Vapor was manufactured. The hero of Crash and Burn is, of course, Crash, the E Model cyborg friend of Rage’s. We met him in Releasing Rage. Crash and Burn ties these two stories together.
Crash and Burn is one of the emotionally toughest stories I’ve ever written. It is a three-hanky read and the loss in it ripped me apart.
But it was necessary. It was necessary for the cyborgs to grow, to evolve, to take action, and it impacted almost every cyborg’s story occurring after it.
It is one of the most important stories in the series. And I love Crash. He’s a special cyborg. His relationship with Safyre is so very unique.
Crash was manufactured to be one of the best warriors in the universe. The cyborg has spent many human lifespans fighting the enemy. But, unlike his battle-loving brethren, he doesn’t enjoy killing. When he escapes the Humanoid Alliance, he vows to never end another life.
Then he meets Safyre, an infuriating human female, and he considers breaking his vow.
Safyre will do anything to save her friend, the being she loves like a sister. She’ll ravish a huge hunky cyborg, kiss his best friend, and invoke scorching hot desires the male never realized he could feel. Dark soulful eyes, a quick wit, and a tempestuous passion won’t divert her from her mission.
Love, and a planet-destroying weapon, however, might stop her permanently.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Flight
Dark Flight is the second story in the now completed Dark Thoughts/Refuge series. It features Orol, Kralj’s winged second-in-command and Rhea, a human female we first meet in Ghost Of A Machine (Ghost’s story in the Cyborg Sizzle series).
One of the many things I love about Dark Flight is it shows us a bit of Carinae E outside of the Refuge. This is one tough planet occupied by equally tough beings. Their entertainments are brutal and harsh and that suits the darkness inside Orol.
He might look like an angel with his handsome face and his beautiful wings but he IS a monster. He was manufactured to kill and he enjoys it a bit too much.
Dark Flight

Orol, the Refuge’s second-in-command, has been given what he believes is a simple mission—escort two human females to the settlement. The winged warrior arrives at the meeting site to find one of the females missing and the other aiming a gun at his head. To rescue the first, he must capture the second. Throwback Thursday – Breathing Vapor
As I’m crafting the first draft of Holding Hoarse, the December FREE cyborg romance short story, I often think about how the heroine would be a huge hit with the assorted offspring Vapor and Mira have adopted over the solar cycles.
I love Vapor and Mira. I loved them in Breathing Vapor and I love who they currently are, how they have evolved and grown. Their love is even stronger now than it was when they first met.
Breathing Vapor
Vapor is the most advanced cyborg the Humanoid Alliance has ever developed. He’s a finely honed weapon, a warrior without parallel, half man and half machine. No lock can contain him. No being can stop him. Whatever he wants, he takes.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Thoughts
Warlord’s Return (releasing in November) takes us back to the Refuge on Carinae E. That’s the outlaw settlement ruled by Kralj from Dark Thoughts. He and Dita and many of the other modified humanoids and their mates will be making an appearance in Warlord’s Return.
Kralj has changed as we all do over time. I won’t say he has mellowed. (grins) He’s still eating his enemies and is super protective of the beings he cares about (threatening Dita is now a leading cause of death in the Refuge). But he cares more about what happens both inside and outside of the Refuge. He’s taking a more active role in other activities.
Can love redeem a monster?
The Refuge is home to some of the most violent beings in the universe. Kralj, its leader, reigns over the remote outpost with terrifying ease, ruthlessly squashing any rumors of rebellion, killing anyone who breaks his rules. Primitive, deadly, powerful, he’s a monster, scarred both on his face and his soul. He has never met a being he couldn’t control.
Until he meets her.
Dita has one mission—to kill the three targets claiming sanctuary within the Refuge. Or so she claims. For the first time in his long lifespan, Kralj isn’t certain of another being’s intentions. The tiny assassin is immune to his powers, her thoughts unreadable. He can’t predict her movements, can’t control her, can’t stop wanting her.
Dita is rare, as unique as he is, and, to keep the residents of the Refuge safe, Kralj will have to kill her. But first, he’ll touch her, taste her, show her how passionate the beast inside him can be.

Throwback Thursday – Seeking Vector
Officially, the Cyborg Space Exploration starts with Choosing Chuckles. That is when the crew of the Reckless is assigned the task of exploring planets within the cyborg sector.
Unofficially, I view Seeking Vector as the first story. We first meet the crew of the Reckless in this story and it relays the romance of the ship’s Captain, Vector, and his human female, Kasia.
Seeking Vector adds depth to many of Captain’s decisions. We learn how important his crew is to him, how seriously he takes his duty to all on board his ship, explains why he respects Power but doesn’t like him very much.
It is a great story to re-read while you’re waiting for Testing Truth to release.
Seeking Vector
A cyborg with a secret… A female seeking the truth…
Vector, the C Model captain of the Freedom, is a cyborg many warriors wish to emulate. He fights fiercely, leads with honor, has earned the respect and loyalty of his crew.
