Throwback Thursday – Warlord Unarmed
Warlord Unarmed has the distinction of being the favorite Cynthia Sax story for some beloved reading buddies. (big hugs) It is the sweetest story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series (and perhaps of all my stories).
At the beginning of the story, the Chamele Sector is ruled by three Warlord brothers.
Murad, the hero of Warlord Unarmed, is the tech-savvy middle brother of the three. He is a Warlord in his own right but he doesn’t rely solely on his muscles and his fighting skills. Murad uses gadgets and high-tech weapons to supplement his other strengths.
This barbarian warrior thinks before he acts.
Which is good because his fated female, Gale, is as cautious as he is. Gale is a collector. Some people might call her a hoarder. She surrounds herself with objects, reminders of the people she cares about. She rescues things that were once loved but have become damaged and are thrown away.
Murad and Gale are two very special beings and their story is magical. I’ve never written about anyone like them.

Murad, a technology-loving Chamele Warlord, has to track down and eliminate a rogue warrior before that male ends Murad’s reign. Permanently.
When a pieced-together wreck of a ship enters the sector without authorization, Murad assumes it is piloted by an ally of his enemy and decides to blow the battered vessel out of open space.
Then he hears the voice of its sole occupant and his orders and his priorities immediately shift. The captain of the ship is his gerel, the one female he’s genetically compatible with—the light to his darkness, his future, his everything.
He will protect her…even if it costs him his life.
Bounty hunter Gale doesn’t want or need protection. She has entered Chamele space on a rescue mission. A tall, muscular, half-naked barbarian with humor-lit eyes and gentle hands won’t distract her from that purpose, no matter what he tries.
A broken ship and an enemy focused on revenge do interfere with her plans. Gale’s goal changes from saving a friend to saving herself. The only being who can increase her chances of survival is the one Warlord she can’t resist.

Throwback Thursday – North Bound
North Bound makes me smile so wide. Myrina the Magnificent is an absolute hoot. She is so over the top, intentionally so, is the WWF wrestling-like star on her planet.
It is a planet ruled by Steve, an equally dramatic male-eating plant. He doesn’t speak yet communicates his feelings and wishes clearly.
North, the Captain’s extremely honorable second-in-command, is dropped into the chaos. This cyborg not only manages the anarchy he finds there surprisingly well but he seems to thrive on it.

North, the second-in-command of a cyborg crew, has two priorities—he has to explore and collect data on Balazoid Minor, a small planet in their sector, and he must bring his three-being team back to the ship alive and fully functional.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Bounty
Warlord’s Bounty was originally the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. Khan, the battle-loving Warlord brother, was the first character I ‘met.’ All the other heroes in the series are named after Mongolian Khans. Khan is named after the role.
Zeta, the heroine, is Khan’s match. She is officially a bounty hunter but her heart is that of a warrior. She’s a little rough around the edges, brusque, brave, quick-thinking, honorable.
We spend a bit of time with all the Warlords in this story and we also meet three of heroines. I think you’ll enjoy this story.
Warlord’s Bounty
Wanted: One Barbarian Warrior.
The bigger the bounty, the more dangerous the target.
Khan, a Chamele Warlord, has a huge bounty on his head. His enemy wants him captured and is offering any being in the universe an outrageous number of credits to accomplish that.
Khan wants to be captured, but only if the being apprehending him is a tiny, brown-eyed female with wickedly sharp daggers and an even sharper tongue. His passion for the feisty human can’t be inhibited by restraints. He’ll allow her to subdue him…in a variety of enticing ways.
When she finally collects her credits, he’ll collect his revenge, killing his enemy and claiming his little bounty hunter forever.
Zeta doesn’t do forever. After a lifespan of chasing dangerous beings across galaxies, apprehending and trading them for credits, she doesn’t get involved emotionally…with anyone.
Khan might be fierce and sexy and the most dominant male she has ever encountered, but the barbarian is also her target, and once she sates herself with his body, she’ll betray him.
That’s her job.

Throwback Thursday – Dominance And Dissent
We first meet Dissent, the hero of Dominance And Dissent, in Seeking Vector. In the beginning of that story, he is on the verge of losing control. He plans to strike back at his cruel manufacturers, an act that has a 100.0000 percent probability of getting him killed.
Kasia, Vector’s female, tells him he can’t do that. He has to stay strong for his female, whoever and wherever she is. He has to live, has to protect her.
Since that moment, he has been searching for his female. His primary goal is to find her and safeguard her.
In Dominance And Dissent, Dissent finally locates her. His female is strong but she DOES need his protection. Kasia’s words end up being the absolute truth.

To earn the love of his curvy human, this cyborg will have to set her free.

Dissent has one primary mission—to find his female and protect her.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Flight
The migratory birds have returned to my corner of the universe. They chirp happily all day and it is such a merry sound. They’re likely arguing or something like that. (grins) I don’t understand bird but I think they’re happy and I smile when I hear them.
Orol is the being I think of when the birds return. He’s the winged hero of Dark Flight, the second story in the Refuge/Dark Thoughts Series. This modified humanoid loves to fly.
Which means there are some steamy scenes with Rhea, his mate, in the air. Those were fun to write and I find them fun to read.

Throwback Thursday – The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
Tomorrow is Vimy Ridge Day. Many Canadians believe the Battle of Vimy Ridge during WWI is Canada’s most celebrated military victory. It was the largest advance of any Allied force at that point in the war.
Unfortunately, 10,600 Canadians were killed and wounded during the battle. I think the story of mine that most reflects that terrible sacrifices made during war is The Cyborg’s Secret Baby.
Zebrina, the heroine, believes Stealth, the love of her lifespan, might have died in battle. Shortly after they parted, she finds out she’s pregnant. She faces raising their child alone…as many women did during WWI.
Stealth is dealing with the emotional damage that comes from battle and from losing so many of his brothers-in-arms…as almost all military personnel did during WWI.
Together, they semi-heal. They find happiness and laughter and love…as I hope the survivors of WWI and Vimy Ridge did.
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
A fierce cyborg warrior and his curvy human female share a no-longer-so-little secret.
Stealth, a K Model cyborg, knows his passion for Zebrina, the commander’s human daughter, is forbidden, yet he can’t resist the curvy female. He craves her touch, cherishes her sounds of pleasure, would do anything to keep her safe.
When he’s faced with the choice of protecting his fragile human or living to see the next sunrise, he chooses her, always her, sending Zebrina halfway across the universe to safety. He doesn’t realize their stolen moments had consequences neither of them believed possible.

Throwback Thursday – Knowing Zip
Today is April Fool’s Day. I’m not a big fan of tricks or pranks (I have a few trust issues – grins) but this day is still very special to me.
When I was a teenager, I babysat two little boys. I loved those boys. We would spend all summer and one day at the very least a week together, running through fields, talking about science and the world, their issues and joys.
The youngest was born on April 1st. He would introduce himself as “I’m T and I’m a fool.” And then he’d laugh. LOL That never failed to make me smile.
I’m thinking of them today and yes, I’m smiling as I do that.
I think Zip, the hero of my free short story Knowing Zip, would really enjoy April Fool’s Day. He loved the idea of making his female’s fantasies come true by abducting her. I believe he’d add some more fun to their lifespans by ‘tricking’ her in other sexy ways. (grins)
Knowing Zip
Abducted by the warrior of her dreams.
Zip is the last of his friends to find his female, the one being meant for him. He isn’t certain she exists until he hears her voice over a transmission. Throwback Thursday – Warlord Sky
Warlord Sky is the first standalone story in the new complete Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. Ironically, it is the only one of two stories that DON’T have a Warlord hero. The hero of Warlord Sky is Qulpa, a Chamele pilot. He has been injured, worries he’ll never fly again.
The one being who could make that happen is Nayan, the head of Ship and Weapons Design. She is brilliant yet doesn’t trust anyone. Nayan deliberately isolates herself from other Chameles.
When the two of them meet, it is explosive. Literally. (grins)

Throwback Thursday – Releasing Rage
Releasing Rage was the first cyborg romance I ever wrote.
I wrote it for myself. Two of my favorite cyborg romance writers were taking a break from their series at the same time. I was craving my cyborg romance hit, was bellyaching about it to the Dear Wonderful Hubby. He pointed out that I was a writer. I should write my own cyborg romances.

Throwback Thursday – Doc’s Orders
Doc’s Orders is a nod to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Doc, the cyborg hero, has two very distinct sides to him—the cool, unemotional, machine-like medic and the emotional beast warrior. There is no moderation for him. He is either one or the other.
Allinen, the heroine, is enthralled by his dual nature. She has given up on finding her fated mate when she meets Doc, a mysterious stranger from space.
Note: Doc’s Orders features a planet-wide pandemic. I wrote this romance long before our own Earth-based pandemic happened and, while it is based on science, it IS an alien world pandemic.
Doc’s Orders
She wants both sides of her cyborg—the medic AND the beast.
A fully functional cyborg is balanced. His machine half and his organic half work together to produce the perfect warrior.
Doc isn’t fully functional.
The G Model operates at the two extremes. When his machine is in complete control, he’s the logic-driven medic, saving lifespans. Once his organics take charge, he becomes the savage beast…and beings die.
Both sides of Doc want to be the first to claim his female.
Allinen is one of the few beings in her small settlement who wasn’t born with a fated mate. Determined to belong somewhere, she has crafted a plan to leave the planet.
That plan doesn’t involve a huge stormy-eyed male who alternates between cool seduction and out-of-control ravishment. Doc isn’t her fated mate. Allinen knows that. But his dual nature and forbidden embraces tempt her to forget forever and indulge in more immediate delights.
Neither side of Doc views their relationship as being temporary. Her conflicted cyborg is prepared to battle her family, her planet and death itself to keep her.
