Testing Truth And Drakons

By Cynthia Sax on September 28, 2020

In Testing Truth, Dissent discovers a drakon in a cage in the beverage outlet on Nereid Negative One. The creature-loving cyborg is immediately enchanted with the tiny, dark red mini-dragon. They communicate. He feeds the drakon pieces of raw meat. They bond.

Some reading buddies have asked, “What happened to the drakon? Did Dissent return him to his home planet?”

The drakon was born in captivity and doesn’t remember his home planet. He also has a tight bond with the Gegenee, the six-armed bartender. He considers the humanoid to be his family and he is very possessive and protective of his family.

The cage surrounding the drakon isn’t there to ensure he remains captured. It is there to prevent patrons from bothering him and to stop him from lighting them on fire. (grins) Drakons don’t have the easiest of tempers.

There is a drakon in Warlord’s Return, the sixth and final story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series (releasing in November). We’ll learn more about drakons and their touchy temperaments in that story. (This story can be read on its own.)

Testing Truth

A fun-loving cyborg gets serious about love.

***

Truth lives each moment as though it were his last. The cyborg warrior rushes into danger, teases beings he shouldn’t provoke, accepts every call of adventure he encounters.

When a prissy little human princess floats into the Rebel structure Truth is occupying, seeking a mercenary to assist her and her unusual entourage, he volunteers to be her warrior. She claims their assignment is dangerous, warns him he might not survive the task.

That is exactly the type of fun he has been seeking.

Princess Nanette of the planet Royaume must rescue her estranged brother from an enemy prison ship. That is her duty, and she has been trained to always place the needs of her planet and her subjects before her own. Nancy doesn’t have the freedom to indulge her passions for a certain dark-haired, gray-skinned cyborg. Not permanently and not publicly.

But she is unable to resist the warrior. Truth, with his laughing eyes, smiling lips, and rough hands, tempts her as no one else ever has. He could be her one fleeting act of rebellion before she’s matched with the powerful ruler her planet requires.

If they survive their current mission.

Their love is doomed. Their lifespans are at risk. This cyborg and his princess will need the help of every ally they have if they wish to see another sunrise.

Testing Truth – Royaume Relationship Constructs

By Cynthia Sax on September 21, 2020

Princess Nancy, the heroine of Testing Truth, originates from the planet Royaume.

Royaume isn’t a perfect civilization. They have issues like almost every civilization that has ever existed (Thus far! I have great hope for the future.).

But one of the many things they do right is express tolerance for different relationship constructs.

Nancy’s entourage, Claude, Valentin, and Marthe, are in an extremely happy M/M/F relationship. They hold high rankings at court. Nancy doesn’t think there’s anything unusual with their relationship, which tells us this relationship construct is fairly common on Royaume.

I’ve had some questions from reading buddies about M/M and F/F relationships. Are those accepted? Would a M/M or F/F relationship be accepted even if…say…a future Crown Prince or Crown Princess was part of one?

I believe it WOULD be accepted. There would be some initial concern about line of succession but once that was solidified and shared with subjects, I think those concerns would fade away.

Testing Truth And Princely Spoilers

By Cynthia Sax on September 18, 2020

If you have some questions about Testing Truth (or any of my other stories), I’m always happy to answer them. (grins)

I will also be posting answers here and on my Instagram account ( https://www.instagram.com/cynthiasax/?hl=en ).

They will be labelled as spoilers (as this post is). Please don’t read these posts until you’ve read Testing Truth!

This is a SPOILER. This is a final warning. (grins) Woe be all who have not read Testing Truth and reads past this line.

My buddy, Niki R, asked if the youngest Prince and his love interest made it to safety.

*

They DID escape successfully into a remote part of the planet, a place that the Prince once visited as a child and had created some magical memories while exploring. He is super excited to show the area to his love interest.

There is a tiny village nearby that they visit from time to time when they need supplies. Those villagers immediately recognized their beloved Prince. They have been respecting his wish for privacy.

Every so often, a visitor to the village spots the Prince. When they ask villagers about him, the villagers admit that they DO have a local who looks like the Prince but why would a Prince be living in such a remote location? And look at the simple way he dresses. Does he dress like a Prince?

The visitors come to the conclusion he can’t be their beloved Prince and leave him alone.

I suspect the Prince and his love interest won’t return to the castle for many solar cycles…if ever. They are gloriously happy where they currently are.

Testing Truth And Gegenees

By Cynthia Sax on September 17, 2020

In Testing Truth, my most recent cyborg romance release, we meet a ‘bartender’ in the beverage outlet on Nereid Negative One, the planet Truth and Dissent are exploring. He has six-arms, which comes in very handy (pun intended) when serving drinks to his many customers.

The bartender is a Gegenee.

I adhere to the Common Ancestor Theory, humans and humanoids all have a common ancestor, which is why they can reproduce. It is also why the ‘aliens’ in my stories use variations on Earth languages.

It makes sense to me that some of our Earth-based myths and stories are based on alien visitors also.

The Gegenees, for example, were six-armed giants who fought the Argonauts. They lived on an Island and were all killed. But they HAD to have originated from somewhere.

That somewhere could have been a different planet.
