Interview With A.M. Griffin, Lea Barrymire, Cara Carnes, and Cassandra Carr
I sat down (virtually) for a short interview with A.M. Griffin, Lea Barrymire, Cara Carnes, and Cassandra Carr. These four talented writers have contributed sexy humorous stories to Fondled and Gobbled: Back For More, an anthology from Ellora’s Cave.
Cynthia Sax: Where did you get the idea for your story?
Lea Barrymire: I love sci-fi and futuristic stories, but as with any sub-genre there seems to be over-exaggerations galore. I took on the idea of a cyborg/android becoming an emotional creature. I took it to the extreme but it was well worth it.
Cynthia Sax: What do you love about writing in your romance sub-genre?
Lea Barrymire: I’m a paranormal/sci-fi writer (mostly). I find writing shifters, aliens and other supernatural beings allows me to stretch my mind in any direction I want to go. A demon with a chocolate fetish? Sure, why not. Being able to expand beyond the everyday is so much fun!
Cynthia Sax: What excites you about your story?
Cara Carnes: One theme I’ve always chuckled over I see rather prevalently in erotic romance (particularly paranormals) are heroes with overly large appendages. It always makes me wonder what would happen if the opposite were true, so this story gave me the creative license to explore that. đ
Cynthia Sax: Why does your story start where it does?
Cara Carnes: Persiphone has been devoting a great deal of her precious time to learning her man’s wants, desires and needs. The scene begins on the most important day of his life–the Meaty Man contest. The first scene sets to tone to show exactly how devoted she is to her man.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from your story and why?
Cassandra Carr: This one needs a little bit of set-up. My favorite line is the second line. I think you’ll figure out why:
Then Cole stiffened and suddenly that same white, creamy stuff shot out of his cock, hitting Declan in the face.
âAggh! My eye! My eye!â Declan screamed. âIt burns!â
Cynthia Sax: Where is your story set?
Cassandra Carr: My story is set in a faraway land, with warriors who have taken human forms in order to invade Earth. The two main characters (both men) are in a ship, in invisible mode, waiting for the order to attack. I’m not sure I’d call the setting exciting or sexy, but it was certainly necessary to the story.
Cynthia Sax: How does your story start?
A.M. Griffin: My story starts with the heroine, Destiny, walking into âThe Shrineâ. I think it was important to start the story there because she is able to explain her journey as to why sheâs in New Orleans and why she is going to âThe Shrineâ and why it is so important to her.
A bit from the first scene:
I hesitate briefly outside the building Iâve visited almost every night for the past year. I donât know why I hesitate. This is something I want and have wanted for so long now.
With a firm hand I push open the doors leading into the bar and walk beneath the sign that reads, âWelcome to The Shrineâ and my breath hitches.
My jaw tightens and hands clench as the house heavy metal band starts up another round of ear screeching music. My first impulse is to storm across the room and yank all the plugs from the speakers, but instead I ignore them and make my way to one of the empty seats at the bar.
Settling in, I order my usual and use my enhanced vision to scan the bar.
Shifter bar, I correct myself.
The leopard shifter bar, owned by the Leporidae family or Leporidae pack, as Iâve begun to call them.
They really arenât trying to hide their shifter species with a last name like Leporidae.
I canât help but giggle, all but forgetting the noise coming from the stage.
Cynthia Sax: Where is your story set?
A.M. Griffin: My story is set in New Orleans. If youâre going to do any reputable shifter story it must be set in New Orleans. Just kidding. Itâs set in a bar âThe Shrineâ which is home for a family of shifters. My spoof was a take on one of my favorite series and follows the setting somewhat.
Thank you ladies for joining us today!

Interview With Lexi Post
I sat down (virtually) with Lexi Post for a short interview. Lexi Post writes hot erotic romances for Ellora’s Cave and her latest release is Masque, a very sexy paranormal.
Cynthia Sax: What makes your hero, Synn MacAlistair, sexy?
Lexi Post: Synn MacAlistair is a tall, dark, handsome hunk with long brown hair and grey eyes with shards of blue in them. That is what makes him physically sexy, but he has other traits that make him sexy. For one, he takes the heroine through 7 different sex rooms to discover what she likes and doesnât like. The fact that he encourages her to try new experiences without pushing her, is sexy, and he is always there as a participant and guide. Another trait that makes him sexy, one that I just love about him, is that after each experience, he picks her up in his arms, strides through the old Abbey completely naked, and puts her to bed. I mean, be still my heart.
Cynthia Sax: Where did you get the idea for Masque?
Lexi Post: I write erotic romances inspired by the classics. So this story was inspired by Edgar Allan Poeâs âThe Masque of the Red Death.â I donât rewrite the story which is why I say âinspired.â For example, in Poeâs story, a black hooded figure arrives at the masque of the Prince wearing a mask in the likeness of a victim of the Red Death. This figure is the Red Death and everyone in the story dies. My thought waswhat if the figure was a friend of the Prince who just wanted to jolt him out of his revelry and remind him of his dying population outside the walls of the Abbey and the Princeâs responsibility to them? But it all goes wrong when everyone in the Abbey dies. To make it worse, many never get to cross over. Just think of the guilt that friend, Synn, would feel, and what he would do to make it all right.
Cynthia Sax: Why does Masque start where it does?
Lexi Post: I loved writing the first scene because it was full of hope for both Synn and the heroine, Rena. From the roof, Synn witnesses the unlocking of the old Abbey after 150 years. The possibility of finally being able to help the ghosts cross over by taking a live person through the masque is heart-stopping. At first, he isnât happy that there are two women, but as he experiences desire for the first time in all those years, he begins to form plans. For Rena, who has just purchased the Abbey, it is a chance to open a haunted bed-and-breakfast and prove to her ex and herself that she can be successful without the crutch of her family. When she opens those giant doors and they creak, she is filled with hope.
Cynthia Sax: What creates conflict between Rena and Synn?
Lexi Post: Ah, now that is the killer. Rena needs a haunted bed-and-breakfast and Synn needs to help the ghosts cross over. If Synn succeeds, Rena loses her dream and her self-confidence. There is also the small issue of what exactly Synn is. Even he is not sure. He can disappear, and if he steps beyond the walls of the Abbey he will cease to exist, yet he is not a ghost. Rena thinks he has deceived her the first time he is forced to disappear in front of her. Oh, did I mention there is a ghost who is in no hurry to cross over. Yeah, he causes some conflicts too
Thank you, Lexi Post, for joining us today!

Interview With A. M. Griffin
I sat down (virtually) with A. M. Griffin for a short interview. A. M. Griffin writes hot SciFi romances for Ellora’s Cave and her latest release is Dangerously Yours, the sequel to Dangerously Mine.
Cynthia Sax: What do you find most exciting about Dangerously Yours?
A. M. Griffin: I like seeing the progression from one story to another. I hate seeing a really good story end. Thatâs why I love series! For me, it feels like the first story didnât end. I also love SaâMya and Kane. Both of these characters have a lot of growing up to do. It was important for me to redeem SaâMya from Dangerously Mine and in doing so, let the readers know and love her like I do. I couldnât pair SaâMya with just anyone, she needed someone just as head strong and stubborn as she is. I do believe they make one great couple.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Dangerously Yours?
A. M. Griffin: He thumbed toward his bed. âWhat is that and why is it in my bed?â
I love this quote because it personifies how Kane feels about aliens in a nutshell. Although SaâMya is very humanoid looking, Kane still refers to her as an âitâ. SaâMya can understand Kane, unbeknownst to him at the time, and believe me, she isnât too happy with hearing him refer to her as an âitâ.
Cynthia Sax: What creates conflict between Kane and SaâMya?
A. M. Griffin: The major conflict which drives Dangerously Yours is that Kane hates all things alien. He blames aliens for his wifeâs death and aliens at large for not stepping in to help Earth during the hostile invasion. Even though heâs attracted to SaâMya, he fights the feeling. SaâMya on the other hand, has no problem with her attraction to Kane. Luckily for her, Kane can’t resist her for long, especially since heâs got her trapped in his cabin.
Cynthia Sax: Will you be writing more stories in the Loving Dangerously series?
A. M. Griffin: Dangerously Yours is the second book in the Loving Dangerously Series. The first book in the series is Dangerously Mine, the third (on the way) is Dangerously Hers which tells Jess and Rashaâs story, the fourth is Dangerously His tells JB and Saiaâs story and the fifth Dangerously Forever tells Allysan and Kiehleâs story. Readers can visit my website under the âWorks in Progressâ page to track where I am with story completions!
Cynthia Sax: What one piece of advice would you give new writers?
A. M. Griffin: Believe in yourself! I could give a ton of advice such as finding great critique partners, take writing classes, join author groupsâŠetc, but all that won’t do a thing if you donât believe in yourself first.
Thank you, A. M. Griffin, for joining us today!

The steamy standalone sequel to Dangerously Mine.
Kane Epps divides his life into two distinct partsâbefore the alien invasion and after. Before the invasion, he had a pregnant wife and a high-powered job. After the invasion, heâs left with only himself and his hatred for all things alien. He channels his bitterness by captaining a vessel of renegade humansâspace pirates who donât think twice about taking what they need.
Princess SaâMya is on the run. She and a few trusted advisers fled her home planet, only to be captured by the sexy, dangerous Captain Epps. He claims to hate aliens but canât seem to resist touching her or kissing herâŠeverywhere. As Kane introduces SaâMya to ever-increasing, unimaginable realms of pleasure, the princess becomes determined to earn his trust. Sheâs used to getting what she wants. And this time, what she wants is Kane Epps.
Inside Scoop: This space-opera romance contains male/male sex scenes, girl-on-girl action, group sex and some good old-fashioned voyeurism.

Interview With B.J. McCall
I sat down (virtually) with B.J. McCall for a short interview. B.J. McCall writes hot erotic romances for Changeling Press and her latest release is Night Sins, the second book in her wonderful Forever series.
Cynthia Sax: Where does Night Sins begin?
B.J. McCall: Night Sins begins appropriately on the city streets near the windowless, high rise complex for vampires called the Cemetery. My hero, Egan, is a Cemetery vampire and my heroine, Harper, is a Dead Souls Agency officer. Itâs illegal for vampires to leave the Cemetery, but no matter how many laws are passed and precautions taken, vampires are drawn to the living. Itâs Harperâs job to patrol the streets and deal with law-breaking vampires.
The book begins with a confrontation between Harper and several bloodsuckers. The scene defines the relationship between vampires and humans and why humans donât walk the streets at night. This clash sets the stage for an unlikely romance.
Cynthia Sax: What creates conflict between Egan and Harper?
B.J. McCall: Egan and Harper were enemies before they ever laid eyes on one another. Heâs a vampire and sheâs DSA. When two enemies interact things happen. When a Deal Souls Agent and a vampire come face-to-face things usually go bad for the vampire.
After the death of a young vampire at Harperâs hand, Egan swears revenge. He stalks her and takes her as his prisoner. Harper has a history with bloodsuckers. Sheâs burned them, arrested them and destroyed them. Sheâs at his mercy, but she wonât beg for her life.
Admiration and attraction add to the conflict that makes their interaction intimate and sensual on a level neither of them wanted or expected.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Night Sins?
B.J. McCall: âRemember me, Agent Croix?â
This line is at the point of the story where Egan and Harper meet again. Sheâs alone, outside her reinforced vehicle and has just been grabbed from behind. His silky voice gives him away. The vampire now has the upper hand and sheâs in big trouble.
Egan knows Agent Croix would prefer a quick death instead of becoming a vampireâs source of nourishment. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but Croix is hot. Revenge can take many forms and Eganâs choice surprises him. Sheâll hate every touch, every climax and every sip, but eventually he will be satisfied.
Cynthia Sax: Will you be writing more stories in your Forever series?
B.J. McCall: Night Sins is the second book in my Changeling Press vampire series, Forever. I love writing vampire stories. I enjoy the urban fantasy element and I intend to write more books set in this unique world. The Cemetery vampires were introduced in Eternity Factor, the first book in my new series.
Thank you, B.J. McCall, for joining us today!

Night is made for sin and vampires rule the dark.
An officer for the Dead Souls Agency, Harper Croix’s job is vampire enforcement. One night her job takes a lethal turn, and Harper has a showdown with an old one. He’s nothing like the rabid bloodsuckers she burns, arrests and destroys. He’s handsome, strong, disciplined and he wants revenge.
Egan wants Agent Croix to suffer for her sins against his kind. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but Croix is hot and tasty. One encounter leads to another. Enemies become lovers.
Harper has sworn to enforce the vampire laws, not break them. An affair with a vampire is reckless. Falling in love is crazy stupid. Egan is irresistible.

Interview With Milly Taiden
I sat down (virtually) with Milly Taiden for a short interview. Milly Taiden is a wonderful friend and a great writer. She writes VERY sexy wolf shifters. Milly Taiden’s latest release is Wolf Protector. (Did I mention about the sexy wolf shifters?)
Cynthia Sax: What makes your heroes so dang sexy?
Milly Taiden: I like to read what I feel are real heroes and heroines. Women and men who are flawed but still have a sense of humor, have insecurities but are strong. I love men who arenât 100% physically perfect. A scar, a painful past. Something that makes me want to reach out and hug him. I also like women who are strong and wonât take BS. From men, women or bad guys. Doesnât matter if they are in danger and canât win, theyâll still try.
Cynthia Sax: What do you find especially exciting about Wolf Protector?
Milly Taiden: From this book I love to see Erica and Trent go from fighting attraction to finally giving in. I love seeing him show her that not everyone will desert her and that she can trust him. I love seeing her realize she can open her heart to him and he wonât abandon her.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Wolf Protector?
Milly Taiden: She folded her arms over her chest. âYou love all women, Trent.â
âNo, I donât. Iâm nice to all women. Iâve never told anyone I love them other than my mother.â
Cynthia Sax: Where did you get the idea for Wolf Protector?
Milly Taiden: Have no clue it just popped into my head. LOL.
Cynthia Sax: Where does Wolf Protector start?
Milly Taiden: It starts with them arguing over Trentâs flirting. I think it was a good spot to start because you see immediately how Erica is fighting her attraction and how Trent loves to tease her. But then they jump into the case and theyâre all business.
Cynthia Sax: Does anyone in Wolf Protector have a secret?
Milly Taiden: Yes, canât tell you LOL. Itâs part of the story.

Interview With Megan Slayer
I sat down (virtually) with Megan Slayer for a short interview. Megan Slayer writes hot erotic romances for Changeling Press and her latest release is Sweet and Wild, the 7th book in the fabulous Glow series.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Sweet and Wild and why?
Megan Slayer: âIf you canât get your mind off Callum, then a plastic lover is the next best thing. It wonât talk back.â
I love this line because the heroine is in a funk and doesnât know how to get out of it. Weâve all been there. Something let us down and weâre pouting. Doesnât have to be forever, but thereâs that period of pouting. Her best friend has the answerâor so she thinksâto Sarahâs problem. I laughed when I wrote it and I laugh when I read it. Plus, itâs so true.
Cynthia Sax: What makes Callum and Sarah right for each other?
Megan Slayer: Sheâs got a secret wild side sheâs still figuring out and heâs all about helping her see just how wild she can get. Toys, bdsm games, sex in different places…heâs willing to try them all, but only with her. And they find some hot ways to…mate.
Cynthia Sax: Will you be writing more stories in your fabulous Glow series?
Megan Slayer: Yes! Thereâs a new wolf who popped up, Kreig, who wants his story told. I keep saying this will be the last Glow book, but that was two books ago, so what do I know. I keep writing when the characters inform me to. Kreig wasnât even planned. He just showed up and wants his counterpart. I have no idea who he or she is, so Iâm still learning. But I love that about this series. The Glow band is itâs own animal and the pieces of the other characters stories fit with it so well. Just a matter of figuring out who fits where.
Cynthia Sax: What one piece of advice would you give new writers?
Megan Slayer: Donât give up. Seriously. You never know who you will meet, what you will read, or where you will go that will be the spark for your writing. If you give up and listen to the negatives, then you wonât get anywhere. You wonât know what youâve missed out on. I have to remind myself to yes, take reviews into consideration, but to also go with whatâs in my gut and never quit. Itâs hard sometimes because the need to write is there all the time, but the negatives can get under the skin and hurt, too.
Thank you, Megan Slayer, for joining us today!

Callum knew the moment he met Sarah she was the woman for him. But life took him away from her. He’s willing to do whatever she asks if it means having her in his arms.

Interview With Jennifer Kacey
I sat down (virtually) with Jennifer Kacey for a short interview. Jennifer Kacey writes hot erotic romances for Ellora’s Cave and her latest release is Together in Cyn. Yeah. BEST TITLE EVER!
Cynthia Sax: Where is Together in Cyn set?
Jennifer Kacey: This story, and the entire series, is set in The Library. A members only BDSM club owned by Chris and Jared Kennedy, who are the heroes of Together in Cyn. The Library is a four story building filled with everything your naughty heart could possibly desire. Each of the owners/members/employees have a story. A secret desireâŠa confession they must unearth the strength to reveal. Each must accept themselves for what is truly inside, and embrace the fact that vanilla will never be their flavor of choice. I love the staid and snooty name for the club. Whoâs going to question you when you say, âIâm going to The Libraryâ? Itâs unexpected and I LOVE that! (Minor confession â Iâve always wanted to own a club in a college town named The Library. This way I could âownâ it and not have any overhead. Best of both worlds!)
Cynthia Sax: What creates conflict between Cyn, Jared and Chris?
Jennifer Kacey: Cyn has been in love with her best friends forâŠforever. But she canât pick just one of the brothers, and she needs more than just missionary in the dark. But sheâs convinced it canât work out, so what does she do? She writes it all down in her diary. Locked away, never to see the light of day. Until Jared accidentally grabs it from her nightstand, and he and Chris read everyâŠlastâŠword. What she wants, she tried with another man and it left her shaken and scared. The guys know something happened, because there are pages missing in her diary. They want her to trust them completely with the truth of what keeps her up at night, but Chris has a back full of scars he never talks about. They each have darkness in their past they have to come to terms with, and make a full time mĂ©nage relationship work as well. Yes Please!
Cynthia Sax: Is Together in Cyn part of a series and will you be writing more stories in this series?
Jennifer Kacey: This is a series! Yea!! The series is called Members Only. Yummy, huh? Iâve got my editor to thank for that one! Together in Cyn is the first of 10âŠyeah I really did say 10!! Seriously, cloud nine and I are very well acquainted! Book Two is Haleighâs Ink and is between Kyle, Scott and Haleigh. This one is an MMF. Book Three is a Christmas Quickie titled A Very MĂ©nage Christmas and involves Skye, Jackson and Nick. These will both be published later this year. Thankfully both are fully written and Iâm in edits for them as I type. Book Four is what Iâm currently working on and that one is Jennaâs Consent. This will be between Jenna, Nick and Ian and Iâm SOOO excited to write their story! I say that about every book, but this one seriously speaks to me. Then six more after that. One MM, one New Adult which may actually turn out to be the harshest of all the books, funny how those things work out. Ooh ooh ooh and Book Six is Dawning Skye, which is between Skye, Jackson and Bradford, who wonât be introduced until Book Four. The series is all mapped out. In my head and on paper thank heavens!
Cynthia Sax: What do you love about writing erotic romance?
Jennifer Kacey: The Sex. I love that I can write as much sex as I want into my stories. It doesnât have to all be sugary and sweet. It can be no-holds-barred crazy monkey sex and someone out there is going to think, âDamn, now I need crazy monkey sex!â That is awesome!!!!! Ooh! And I donât have to write just about one couple either. In Together in Cyn, Chris and Jared hook up with Cyn A LOT. Jenna gets to play with Cyn. Plus, I introduce everyone to Scott and Kyle, which are the two heroâs in Book Two â Haleighâs Ink. And by âintroduceâ I mean have smokin hot, bend him over the side of the couch, kind of hi-how-are-ya. Anything goes, and that is unbelievably wonderful to write.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Together in Cyn?
Jennifer Kacey: Okay donât hate me I had to answer this one too, but Iâll keep it short (ish)! My favorite line. My first line. âSo Cyn why arenât you fucking anybody?â It sets the tone of the entire series not just this one. Itâs harsh, and inquisitive and I totally got to write fuck into the first line. How cool is that?!? And itâs the first. The first sentence anyone will know me for. Know my stories, hopefully love my characters as much as I do. Itâs humbling, and exciting, and Iâm absolutely thrilled to be doing what Iâm doing!
Thank you, Jennifer Kacey, for joining us today!
Jennifer Kacey’s Website: http://www.jenniferkacey.com/index.php/books/together-in-cyn
*****************************************************************************
She knows itâs wrong. Cyn shouldnât have feelings for fraternal twins Jared and Chris, her best friends. She shouldnât want them to tie her up or strap her down, to take her one at a timeâor together. The only way to control her taboo desires is to write them down and lock them away in her diary. Guys like Jared and Chris could never be interested in someone like her, or in the kind of sex she craves.
But Jared and Chris have read her diary, and sweet little Cyn is in for the shock of her life. The brothers not only own a members-only BDSM club, they want her. Need her. And now, with their unlimited funds and an entire establishment devoted to fulfilling her darkest pleasures, theyâre going to claim Cyn for their own.
Inside Scoop: If you have a kink, this book probably has it too. If you like your ménage romances extra hot with a side of male-male romance, spanking, voyeurism and girl-on-girl action, come and get it.

Interview With Mari Carr
I sat down (virtually) with Mari Carr for a short interview. Mari Carr is a New York Times Bestselling Author. I LOVE her stories. Her Wild Irish series is one of my favorite series of all time. Mari Carr’s latest release is Full Moon, the second sexy contemporary in her delicious Second Chances series.
Cynthia Sax: What makes Jake sexy?
Mari Carr: Jake is my ultimate guy. He has definite alpha qualities, knows his way around the bedroom, but heâs also laid back with a good sense of humor. Heâs a good listener and heâs patient. In my mind, heâd be an awesome dad too.
Cynthia Sax: What do you find especially exciting about Full Moon?
Mari Carr: Full Moon is actually the second book in the Second Chances series and Iâm thrilled with the whole lot! As I get older, Iâve come to realize that happily ever after doesnât always come when you expect it to. And sometimes it doesnât take the first time. There are six friends in this series, women who are all standing at a crossroads in their lives, looking for different things. Josie is a single, working mother who got married too young to an unfaithful husband. She tried the marriage routine and it didnât work out. Sheâs not anxious to introduce her son to any new men, who may or may not stick around. For herâŠshe wants the occasional roll in the hay with no strings attached and Jake agrees to play the game her wayâŠat first.
Cynthia Sax: How does Full Moon start?
Mari Carr: This story begins like all the books in the series do. With all six friends spending New Yearâs Eve together at Lauraâs house. Theyâre drinking wine and keeping each other company so they donât have to ring in the new year alone. Zoey decides itâs ridiculous for six smart, attractive women to be alone, so she challenges each of them to set a goal for the coming year. To think of something they can work on that will ensure they wonât be in the same place next New Yearâs. Josieâs goal involves the Howl Listâ12 sexual fantasies she plans to endulge in. Sheâd endured lackluster sex with her husbandâher first and onlyâfor years. While sheâs not looking for forever or commitment, she does want to broaden her sexual horizons. So she creates the list, one adventure a month on the night of the full moon for every month of the year.
Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Full Moon?
Mari Carr: My favorite scene in the book is where Jake finally convinces Josie he wants more than casual sex from her. A relationship is a scary thing to Josie, but Jakeâs humor wears her down.
âI want the rest of your full moons.â
âThe list is twelve monthsâ worth.â
He nodded, seemingly unfazed. What exactly was he asking for? A yearâs worth of sex? Or more?
âGive me your last name, your phone number and then show me the list.â
She hesitated, started to refuse him. Then she realized it was pointless. Heâd won them all the very first night, but her stubbornness had prevented her from seeing that. âMy name is Josie Jacobson. But you know that. Youâve seen my credit card.â
He grinned, not bothering to deny the truth. âI still wanted you to give it to me.â
âDoes that mean you looked up my number?â
âItâs unlisted.â
She scowled, pretending to be angry. âYou cheater. Give me your cell.â
He handed it to her without asking why. She was continually touched by his trust in her. She opened his contacts and added her name and number to the list. âThere. Thatâs me.â
He glanced at the number, then pushed the button. Her phone rang and she laughed when he said, âJust checking.â
âNow.â Jake held out his hand. âLast thing. Hand the list over.â

Sometimes itâs not just the tide that risesâŠ
Second Chances, Book 2
In the two years since her divorce was finalized, Josie Jacobsonâs life has become one long, boring routine. Work, home, repeat. She has her hands full as a single parent, and while sheâs not looking for a serious relationship, she sure wouldnât mind getting laid.
When her friend, Zoey, challenges her to make a New Yearâs resolution for a second chance at happiness, Josie goes one better and creates the âHowl Listâ. Every full moon, she will indulge in a different sexual fantasy. Right at the top? Sex without strings.
Fate leads her to the Blue Moon bar in January. After all, what better place to howl? And when she meets Jake Stewart, the sexy bartender, and engages in some red-hot sex with a stranger, her year seems to be off to a great start.
At least, until Jake declares he wants all her full moonsâŠ
Warning: This is NOT the shifter story you are looking for. While the heroine howls during the full moon, she does it in naked, human-form only. Sorryâno wolves, but there is a really sexy bartender and lots of red-hot fantasies.

Interview With Tina Donahue
I sat down (virtually) with Tina Donahue for a short interview. Tina Donahue writes hot erotic romances for Ellora’s Cave and her latest release is Illicit Intent, Book Three in her wonderful Appointment with Pleasure series.
Cynthia Sax: What makes Joel and Guy sexy?
Tina Donahue: Their craving for Piper as a woman they not only hunger for, but one they like and respect before their carnal games. They accept her for who she is. Piper isnât beautiful by any means. She certainly doesnât consider herself drool-worthy even if Joel and Guy do. I believe thatâs because they like her personality first of allâŠthey enjoy her as a friend. A woman they can talk to and share their dreams with. Theyâre alphas, sure, (especially between the sheets, or in the shower, or the Jacuzzi) but Piperâs sweet vulnerability make them want to give her all that they canâŠto protect and cherish her. Now, thatâs sexy.
Cynthia Sax: Will you be writing more stories in your Appointment with Pleasure series?
Tina Donahue: Illicit Intent is book three in my Appointment with Pleasure series. There will definitely be more books. I love the characters, including Ronnie, the lady who owns the escort agency and Alexa, the young woman whose wicked love affair with Hunt started it all. In book one, Alexa was Magique, a call girl who changed Huntâs world. Unable to resist her, Hunt didnât stop until she was his alone. Wow.
Cynthia Sax: What one piece of advice would you give new writers?
Tina Donahue: Learn your craft. Donât submit anything to an agent or a publisher unless youâre absolutely certain itâs the best it can possibly be. Editors wonât teach you how to write. If your manuscript is a mess, they wonât take the time to whip it into shape. Thereâs simply too many other writers who know their craft and will make their editorâs life easy. No matter what critics say about anyone being able to write a romance, donât you believe it. Itâs extremely difficult to get emotions down on a page and make them believable. Sex scenes are also hard (excuse the pun) to write. Thereâs only so many ways someone can do âitâ. You have to be extremely inventive while also making it realistic and romantic. No easy task.
Cynthia Sax: What do you love about writing contemporary erotic romances?
Tina Donahue: I write contemporary, historical, mĂ©nage, suspense, paranormal, so Iâll tell you what I most love about writing romanceâany type of romance. The deep POV, getting inside my charactersâ heads and hearts. I love the HEAs, especially after my characters have gone through so much to be together. Iâve had reviewers and fans say they were so moved by my stories and characters, theyâve wept, laughed, sighed â they recalled the stories months after they read them. Thatâs the best gift of all. To know youâve moved someone. That your characters were real enough that the reader didnât want the story to end.

Whatâs your wildest erotic wish?
For Piper, thatâs easy. Two alpha males who ravish her and find her curves beyond luscious. She knows her type isnât for every manâcertainly not Guy and Joel, right? Guyâs tall, dark and sinfully virile. Joelâs blond and bronzed. Theyâre freaking sex gods, escorts her friend hired so Piperâs thirtieth birthday is unforgettable.
Their carnal games awaken Piperâs sensuality, while her voluptuous figure and sweet vulnerability fuel both menâs animal hunger.
One evening of decadent pleasure isnât enough. Piper aches to perform mĂ©nage acts with them for clients who like curvy women. A wicked idea, except for her familyâs ties with law enforcement, the threat of exposure.
Is her threesome worth the risk?

Interview With Sara Jay
I sat down (virtually) with Sara Jay for a short interview. Sara Jay writes hot erotic romances for Changeling Press and her latest release is Hard as a Rock.
Cynthia Sax: What makes Canna sexy?
Sara Jay: Canna is gorgeously green with curves and cuteness, but she is also happy to play with almost anyone at the Pleasure Club! Patrons call her the club âpoltergeistâ because they get played with by what they think is a ghost. She loves to stay invisible as she teases patrons and gets them off. Basalt is an enormous stone warrior with sexy, long black hair and matching skin that drives Canna crazy.
Cynthia Sax: What excites you about Hard as a Rock?
Sara Jay: Several aspects of Basalt were inspired by my husband, so this story is my gift to him. Itâs already really exciting to read my books aloud to him, but this one is going to be the best yet! Plus, itâs being released on our anniversary; how could it be more perfect than that?
Cynthia Sax: Where is Hard as a Rock set?
Sara Jay: Hard As A Rock takes place mostly in a futuristic sex club, where there are life-like human appendages, machines and rides made from a revolutionary material called Skintex. It makes the attractions feel real. Thereâs also a filtration system that keeps the place clean and disease-freeâbut itâs also in the future where most of those kinds of worries are gone anyway, which is nice!
Cynthia Sax: Does someone in Hard as as Rock have a secret?
Sara Jay: Oh, yes. The reader learns the secret within the prologue, but poor Canna doesnât get it until nearly the end of the book! Itâs a total happily ever after for her, I promise. Sheâs just going to have some conflict and some soul-wrenching yearning on the way!
Cynthia Sax: What one piece of advice would you give new writers?
Sara Jay: I know itâs said often, but get to that page every single day. It makes a total difference, even if you only write a sentence or two. If I promise myself Iâll sit down and write for just ten minutes, it always turns into an hour or more of very productive writing time.
Cynthia Sax: What do you love about writing paranormal erotic romances?
Sara Jay: Whatâs not to love about hot creatures? đ From dragons to elves to gargoyles⊠Well, life is a whole lot more interesting with them in it! I also like making my characters have powers, or turning the tables on situations that humans would normally encounter. For example, in my book Nobody Rides for Free, three bikers think itâs their lucky day when they run across a seemingly helpless young woman in the desert. They have no idea that sheâs an insanely strong faery looking for some funâand theyâre really the helpless ones next to her! In Hard As a Rock, thereâs a sinister man who hopes to capture Canna and make her hisâbut again, heâs human, and he just underestimates the power of the supernatural.

Canna, an impish, flirty faery, loves to service just about any client who enters The Pleasure Club, a futuristic sex club. But although the clientele is satisfied, Canna aches for the impossible. A sexy, larger-than-life gargoyle statue that happens to be a simple a décor item.
Basalt has spent centuries wanting Canna all to himself. Though his nightly visits train her to be his perfect lover, will she still want him when she finds out what he does during the day?
