Adam, the all powerful entity using Euryale as his host, is extremely ancient. He existed before planets were formed and I suspect he will exist long after everything around him has perished.
Most of the life forms Euryale is seeking to bind are younger than Adam is. They are less experienced. They don’t have his knowledge.
I suspect, despite all his grumblings, he will mentor some of them. I also suspect he’ll be a gruff yet good mentor. Because, although he will never admit it, he cares about others.

One of the absolutely awesome things about reading and writing cyborg romance and alien romance is visiting fascinating new-to-us planets.
Under Strain is set on one of the coolest planets in the universe. It is a habitat for dinosaurs!
Imagine a planet where dinosaurs didn’t go extinct. Then imagine almost-unkillable cyborgs on that planet. (grins) You KNOW they’ll have some fun!

A damaged cyborg warrior is hunted by a peace-loving human female.

Strain is severely malfunctioning. The D Model cyborg was the sole survivor after a horrific decision was made by his cruel manufacturers. He hates all humans, and when he attacks one who is under his cyborg leader’s protection, he is reprimanded, stripped of his weapons, and told to watch and not actively participate in the next mission.
That mission takes place on a small remote planet. Its lush terrain should only be inhabited by the cyborgs they were sent to rescue, but Strain senses another presence on the surface. She is watching him, tracking him, hunting him.
A fully operational cyborg would end her lifespan.
Strain wants to claim her. Forever.
Kamyelle is the only one left of her kind. Warriors have killed the other nonviolent human inhabitants of her planet. She survived…barely…by hiding in the trees, observing her enemies, and covering herself with lifeform scan-concealing mud.
When a handsome, gray-skinned, brilliant-blue-eyed male arrives, surrounded by weapon-carrying warriors, she has to save him. Warriors harm and they kill. That is what they do.
She won’t allow them to hurt Strain.

Strive For Forever And Re-introducing Intrepid
Intrepid is the cyborg hero of Intrepid Encounter, the next installment of the Cyborg Unity series (releasing in November). He has appeared in many previous stories.
But Strive For Forever is a re-introduction. It shows him in his current role – as the captain of a battle station protecting the border to the cyborg sector.

Inspiration For SciFi Movie Sound Effects
I have the windows open right now and it sounds like a battle in a Star Wars movie outside.
There is a type of bird in my corner of the universe (a Google search says these are cardinals) whose song is the ‘pew pew pew’ of a laser gun. (grins)
I imagine these birds shooting (and missing) at the other birds around them. It is VERY inspiring.
I also imagine the chickadees taunting them with their ‘chick-a-dee-dee-dee’ song.

Muse Food – Interesting Pairings And Alaska Ravens
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this magnificent raven perched on a beached boat near Hoonah, Alaska.
A raven on his own isn’t noteworthy in Alaska. A beached boat isn’t noteworthy either.
But when these two elements are combined, it becomes an interesting sight.
Combinations of things or events or beings can add interest to stories also. He is a cyborg warrior, for example, and he carries around and cares for a potted plant. Or she is a human medic and she has sweets hidden in her jacket pocket. Bam. The character becomes much more intriguing.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves And Found Family
Spoiler Alert – This post will discuss the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and might have some (mild) spoilers. You might wish to skip this post if you haven’t yet watched this movie.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I have been catching up on movies we’ve missed and one of the movies I most wanted to watch was Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
I had heard great things about this fantasy movie. Plus Chris Pine, according to rumor, writes romance (under a secret pen name).
Dungeons & Dragons did NOT disappoint. It was fun and light and has a happy ending (and dragons) And it made me cry. I was THAT emotionally involved.
It is also a great movie for writers who want to craft found family stories to study. (This isn’t much of a spoiler as the ‘Honor Among Thieves’ bit in the movie’s title tells us it is a found family story.)
The main characters are outcasts. Some of them are looking to reunite with biological family so there’s a solid exploration of biological vs found family. The group bonds more and more until they become a solid found family unit. At the end, most of them are together and the one member who isn’t physically with them is talked about so they are emotionally present. And we know they will meet up with this absent being in the future.
It meets all the major expectations for a found family story and it does this in a creative, fun way.

Throwback Thursday – Containing Malice
Malice, the hero of Containing Malice, has been imprisoned in an underground laboratory and has unable to hear the transmissions from his cyborg brethren. He doesn’t realize they are all now free.
For him, time has stopped. The mass cyborg rebellion hasn’t happened.
This is, of course, a nod to the POWs here on Earth who were released long after their wars had ended. The rest of the world had returned to ‘normal’ life. But for them, their wars had continued.

Malice, a C Model cyborg, has spent his long lifespan enslaved by the Humanoid Alliance. His cruel manufacturers have hurt him in all the ways a male could be hurt.
His enemy has now added a new weapon to their arsenal—a tiny human medic with soft hands and a delectable scent. She experiments on him multiple times a shift, delivering pain…and frustration.

Writers often joke that we are the gods of the worlds we create. I think this is true for most artists. Strive, for example, is the master of the artworks he fabricates. He makes most of the decisions. He pushes the art in the direction he wants it to go.
And that makes him very similar to our perceptions of deities. Which makes him very similar to Adam, the deity using Euryale, the heroine of Strive For Forever, as his host.
