This wonderful writing business revolves around trust.
I trust, for example, that my Awesome Cover Artist is using either her own photos or stock photos she has purchased. That’s what we agreed and, as far as I know, she has stayed true to her word.
My Awesome Editor trusts, as another example, that I’ve written the stories I’ve sent her. They are all my own bizarre thoughts and wild sentences (laughs).
I keep that in mind when bad things involving business partners of other writers arise. I assume those writers trust their cover artists and editors and other business partners as much as I trust mine. I don’t assume they ‘knew’ because it most likely hadn’t even crossed their minds.
We are all functioning on trust in this wonderful business. And trust is fragile.
