The Changing Future
I recently bought mouthwash. This mouthwash claims to have 12 hour protection and work even if we eat or drink.
12 hour protection.
That means, if it works as claimed, I’ll no longer wake up with morning breath.
That also means, if it works as claimed and it becomes the standard, NO ONE, including a cyborg’s human female, will ever wake up with morning breath.
Sexy times without brushing our teeth become much more…sexy.
Until that happens, the human females in my stories will still tackle the morning breath issue. But I can envision a future where this is no longer an problem.

Throwback Thursday – Chasing Mayhem

Raw Desires – Escaping From Her Chamber
To write a book well, writers have to research a gazillion different often-small things.
One of the scenes in Raw Desires that involved a great amount of research is when Taytu was attempting to escape from her ‘prison’ chamber on Mercury Minor.
For example, I had to ensure she didn’t fry her a$$ with the energy in the wires she planned to strip. To figure out how to trip the circuits and stop that energy flow, I consulted online articles AND eventually a very helpful electrician (who thought it was super cool that he was helping with a novel).
And all this research resulted in a guess.
(grins)
Because the energy in the scene is alien-sourced and the circuits would be equally different and futuristic.

Gardening Tips – Sources Of Seeds
I buy very few seeds for my vegetable garden.
I sourced the seeds for my first tomato plants from tomatoes the Dear Wonderful Hubby bought in the grocery store.
He found a huge clearance heirloom tomato in a last day of sale bin, for example. I scooped out some of the seeds, fermented them in water for a week, dried them and stored them for the next year. The tomato plants grown from those seeds produced beautiful big tomatoes.
Some of the tomatoes grown from the grocery store selections were admittedly a bit funky. We ate them but I didn’t harvest those seeds for the next year.
Another great source of seeds is other gardeners.
I have a small backyard. I only have space for three cucumber plants, for example. But the package of seeds has a gazillion seeds in them. (The seeds in grocery store cucumbers aren’t viable.) So I give the excess seeds away.
I also harvest WAY more seeds than I’ll ever need for the next year. Seeds DO go bad. I prefer someone uses them.
If you ask a few people, you’ll likely receive more seeds than you’ll ever need. (grins)

Muse Food – The Passage Of Time
One of my favorite scenes to write is when the heroine or hero goes back to their childhood home and they see the changes that have occured in that place they once knew so well.
Because while their home is frozen in one state in their minds, time hasn’t stopped in reality.
Nature might have reclaimed buildings as it has in this photo (the Dear Wonderful Hubby snapped it in the Dominican Republic).
Or perhaps new occupants have altered the landscape with their construction projects. Or the heroine’s or hero’s families, if they still live there, have implemented changes.
Time has marched forward. And that can evoke fierce emotions.

The Similarity Of Alien Planets
Humans have adapted specifically to life here on Earth.
The range of acceptable oxygen levels in breathable air, for us, for example, is very narrow. The optimal oxygen level for humans is about 21 percent. If oxygen levels fall below 19.5 percent for an extended period of time, bad things start to happen. If oxygen levels increase above 23.5 percent for an extended period of time, bad things start to happen.
We’re as sensitive to other gases and minerals. And to temperature (which is why a 1.5C increase is a BIG deal). And to gravity.
And…well…to almost everything else around us.
What this, unfortunately, means is for us to be able to live naturally (i.e. outside of a climate-controlled structure) on another planet, that planet has to closely resemble Earth.
The human females in my cyborg romances might temporarily visit planets with different specs. But they have to wear suits while venturing outside their ships.
They will be found and/or want to live permanently on alien planets that are similar to our own wonderful Earth.

Death On The Nile And Guessing Twists
Spoiler Alert – This post will talk very generally about the movie Death On The Nile. If you haven’t yet watched this movie, you might wish to skip this post.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I watched Death On The Nile, the 2022 movie based on the Agatha Christie novel. Neither of us had read the book or watched any early versions of this story.
Yet we both guessed who killed the first victim a scene before the body was discovered.
That might have been the director’s expectation.
It might have been a romance novel situation.
In romance novels, we almost always immediately know who will end up happy, in love and in a relationship. Heck, the book description indirectly tells us that information! (grins) If the description talks about Raw and Taytu, Raw and Taytu will be in a happy, loving relationship in the last chapter of the story.
Maybe we were expected to know who did it early in the Death On The Nile movie. Maybe, as with romance novels, we were expected to enjoy the journey to that obvious conclusion.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I did enjoy the journey. The sets were amazing and we both love Egypt.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Fire
Dark Fire combines many of my favorite types of stories.
It has a dragon-like hero. It is an alien romance. The hero is a warrior. The heroine is a thief. There is plenty of action and heated encounters and a dash of humor.
It is a fun, thrilling story and I think you’ll really enjoy it!

Gardening Envy
I’ve been looking at the photos posted by buddies in Europe, the Southern US and other places. Their gardens look AMAZING. They are lush and green. They have flowers and color and everything is vividly alive.
I have big time envy. (grins)
The last frost in my corner of the universe is usually around May 20th. That means I shouldn’t really start many of my plants inside the house, in the grow station, until the beginning of April.
Which is dang soon! YES!
I am SO looking forward to gardening this year. It is one of my favorite stress releases.
