When Briella, the hero of Provoking Odium, returns to her birth planet, she sees the destruction the Humanoid Alliance has wrought on it.
It isn’t only the annihilation of her kind. It is also the destruction of the plants, the insects, the water supplies, the other living creatures, the terrain. That will NEVER return to the way it once was. Some species are now extinct.
Mercury Minor was in a similar state when Ghost and Lethe first claimed the planet. There was very little left. The planet was contaminated with poisons. All the vegetation, the insects, the wildlife, water supplies, etc., had to be restored and/or imported from other planets.
It took them solar cycles (years), their almost unlimited resources, huge databases of knowledge, and their advanced technology to restore it to a livable state.
But they DID accomplish that feat. And I think that says so much about the two of them. And the other cyborgs.
