Power and Astrid Ragnhild, the Buoir Berserker, Vengeance’s Warrior Female have a complicated relationship. They first met in Taking Vengeance. Power tried to claim Astrid for his female but Astrid convinced him to cling to the hope of finding his own genetic match.
During his unusual courtship, Power revealed a tiny slice of his true self, of his ambitions, his vulnerabilities, his desires. He wasn’t looking for someone to boost his position within the cyborg council. And his pursuit of Astrid wasn’t about physical need either. It was emotional. He was looking for someone he could talk with, someone he could trust.
Astrid responded to the loneliness in Power. She, being the warrior female she is, has claimed him as her friend, despite his resistance and Vengeance’s dislike of Power. There’s nothing the two males can do to stop her from liking Power. (grins) They have to deal with it.

Seizing Power
This cyborg believes he’s in control.
