Throwback Thursday – Crash And Burn

Crash And Burn is a three-tissue read so ensure you’re in the mood for a good cry (that’s me every day lately – grins) when you read it.

This was the toughest story I’ve ever written but it had to be told because it impacts all cyborgs everywhere. The actions in Crash And Burn ripple throughout the universe.

Crash was manufactured to be one of the best warriors in the universe. The cyborg has spent many human lifespans fighting the enemy. But, unlike his battle-loving brethren, he doesn’t enjoy killing. When he escapes the Humanoid Alliance, he vows to never end another life.

Then he meets Safyre, an infuriating human female, and he considers breaking his vow.

Safyre will do anything to save her friend, the being she loves like a sister. She’ll ravish a huge hunky cyborg, kiss his best friend, and invoke scorching hot desires the male never realized he could feel. Dark soulful eyes, a quick wit, and a tempestuous passion won’t divert her from her mission.

Love, and a planet-destroying weapon, however, might stop her permanently.

The Release Date For Provoking Odium

I’ve received some questions about the release date for Provoking Odium, the first story in the next cyborg series. This cyborg romance is tentatively releasing in June, four months from the release date for Seizing Power. Buddies are wondering why this story will take so long to write and edit.

I’m hoping it WON’T take that long to write and edit. I hope we will hit the three month dates on each stage of writing/editing and can release it in May.

That could happen. Booksellers are quite happy to move release dates forward.

They do not like it AT ALL when we push release dates back. I decided to be cautious and give myself and my Awesome Editor an extra month…just in case.

Because the world is extremely unpredictable right now. We still have a pandemic happening. Climate change disasters seem to be on the upswing. There were the holidays to consider. We don’t know what we’ll be facing tomorrow.

For now, the release date for Provoking Odium will remain in June.

This story WILL be worth the wait. I DO know that. (grins)

Needing Valor And Traits Valued By Cyborgs

I smiled when I wrote the scene where the other cyborgs are congratulating Valor on locating his female. They are SUCH warriors and view everything through a warrior’s gaze.

One of his brethren admires Halleli’s small horns, viewing them as natural weapons. Another warrior points out her skin color could serve as camouflage on some planets. Valor likes her full figure, processes she is built for a cyborg.

And when he meets with his female, he applauds her bravery. She might not be skilled with explosives or weapons but she is, in his gaze, a fellow warrior.

Needing Valor

This not-at-all-dead cyborg needs to be needed.

Seeking a change after solar cycles of war, Halleli enters a lottery on her home planet. Her wishes are granted. She wins a home of her own in the middle of nowhere.

The only problem is…that home is haunted.

Objects slide off horizontal surfaces. The floor howls. And the resident ghost, a sexy spirit she has named Chad, roams the space. He sports soulful dark eyes, a deep growly voice, and shiny silver hands big enough to handle a female’s abundant curves.

Halleli wants him, and that is wrong, so very wrong. A relationship between them is impossible. He is dead. And she is…not.

Robots In Dallas Inspiration

The Dear Wonderful Hubby spotted this Robot and Robotic Bird sculpture in Dallas. The legs remind me of the machines in the Tom Cruise War Of The Worlds movie.

This robot is one part of a three part art piece called The Traveling Man, designed by Brad Oldham and Brandon Oldenburg. This part of the piece is called Walking Tall.

I found it inspiring and thought it might serve as muse food for some of my SciFi Romance writing buddies. (grins)

NASA And Jewelry

This display gave me serious Star Trek vibes.

I could picture an alien queen wearing this ring/necklace combination.

Princess Nancy from Testing Truth would definitely wear this necklace!
It IS purple, not pink but it is so sparkly.
She’d love it.

These pieces so perfectly match the beauty of space; I didn’t see them right away.

Do I Read Reviews?

Reviews are important. They help readers find the best stories for them. And some booksellers reward stories that have reviews by giving them extra visibility on their sites.

But they are NOT meant for writers. Some writers don’t read any of their reviews. Some writers read only reviews other people filter for them. Writers are advised never to respond to reviews.

I read ALL the reviews on my stories. I have rhino skin, have built up a tolerance for criticism. And I don’t read reviews until my fresh writing for the day is done. I also don’t read reviews when I’m feeling fragile.

I see your comments about which cyborgs you would like to read about next. (smiles) I see your questions and concerns. I see your requests for updates on existing couples (and more).

B Free

B is the last remaining B Model cyborg. All of his brethren, the beings he trained with, fought with, cared deeply for, have perished.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Flight

Orol, the hero of Dark Flight, is the only winged hero I’ve written about…thus far. A certain winged Modified Humanoid who appeared in B Free might someday receive his own story.

Winged heroes mean fun times in the sky. (grins) Orol also sports talons, which hints at how very dangerous he is. He is exactly the type of male, Rhea, his heroine, needs.

The Power Of The Sphere

Spheres appear often in ancient cultures.

Here are some spheres found in displayed in the Altos de Chavon Regional Museum of Archaeology in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

“Burial Practices

The hunter-gatherer-fisher groups known as Ciboney used caves and concheros-mounds of seashells-to deposit bundles of human bones.

The bones, which were cleansed and painted with red ochre, were placed in these sites a good while after the deaths of the individuals, suggesting that time and effort were dedicated to this practice.

The Ciboney also made stone spheres to deposit next to the bones as funerary offerings.”
