I’ve been asked how new graduate, extremely broke Anna, the heroine of He Watches Me, is billionaire Blaine’s neighbor.
She’s house-sitting.
I’ve done this before. I’ve stayed in a home, paying only for utilities and maintenance while the owners traveled. I received a fairly inexpensive place to live. They didn’t have to worry about their house being broken into or burning down.
Anna’s agreement with the Leighs is very similar.
Here is how she describes it.
The sheer silver curtains billow in the night breeze, the windows cracked open in an attempt to alleviate the stifling heat. I can’t afford to turn the air-conditioning on. My agreement with the Leighs is to pay for the upkeep and utilities while they jaunt around Europe, straightening noses and increasing bra sizes. In exchange, I get a free place to stay.
This is how Anna ends up as Blaine’s temporary neighbor.

What is Blaine like?
This is how Anna describes him.
I’ve seen Gabriel Blaine, its elusive and surprisingly young owner, only once in the three weeks I’ve been house-sitting.
That once made an impact. I had been fiddling with the finicky front door lock when the billionaire exited from a long black limousine. He paused, turned his head toward me, and our gazes met, his eyes brilliant green and hard, so very hard. Even the lock of ink-black hair falling over his forehead failed to soften his sharp chin and pronounced cheekbones.
My keys dropped from my lifeless fingers to the concrete steps and I froze, unable to breathe. Blaine’s lips twitched and he inclined his head toward me as though I had confirmed something he’d long suspected. I, idiot that I am, nodded back, agreeing to what? I don’t know.
Whatever I had agreed upon seemed to satisfy Blaine. He moved like a predator toward his rarely used mansion, his stride smooth and almost graceful. He disappeared into his home, closing the door behind him, and I haven’t seen him since.
I LOVE Blaine. He is one hero I often dream about. He’s mysterious and complex, protective and private, sexy and supportive. He isn’t perfect. He isn’t always politically correct or nice. But he’s certainly a man deserving love, not that he believes he does.

The Seen Trilogy – Anna
Anna is the not-so-innocent-yet-virginal heroine of The Seen Trilogy. What is she like? Physically, she considers herself plain.
Here is a slice of a scene from He Watches Me in which she describes herself.
I tilt my head back and study one of the many life-sized portraits of Suzanna Leigh hanging on the walls. No one would dare look at Mrs. Leigh with disapproval. The plastic surgeon’s wife, with her blond hair, blue eyes, and big breasts, is the epitome of L.A. beauty. I’m not. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and a flat chest. I pluck at my faded pink camisole, the garment clinging to my small breasts, and I continue my stroll.
Anna is definitely Blaine’s match intellectually and her sense of humor makes me laugh. She’s not perfect, however. She lies… to everyone except Blaine. She’s been hurt, multiple times. She has a unique view of the world and of people. Anna is a complex person, as we all are, and I absolutely adore her.

The Seen Trilogy – Questions About Serials
The Seen Trilogy, releasing in July from Avon Impulse, is a serial.
The three novellas (approximately 25,000 words or 100 pages long) follows the sexy relationship of Anna, an unlikely exhibitionist, and Blaine, her billionaire watcher.
There are NO cliffhangers with these stories! Each installment has a beginning and an ending. I submitted He Watches Me to my editor as a stand alone story. She expressed an interest in more stories about Anna and Blaine. Happily, I already had these stories written. I LOVE this couple and wanted to find out how their relationship progressed.
However, the stories should be read in order. You won’t know how much Blaine’s casual touch means to Anna in He Touches Me unless you’ve read He Watches Me.

Here’s my answer to this week’s water flash fiction challenge
Ginger floated on her back in the pool – her absentee neighbor’s pool – and she stared up at the stars, pondering her choices. She no longer had any ties to L.A. There was no cheating bastard of a fiancé, no desperately homesick best friend, and as of 3 p.m. today, no minimum wage job at the all-you-can-eat curry pit.
She had nothing in L.A. She glanced at the darkened windows of the mansion she trespassed behind and she sighed. Nothing at all.
“I should leave.” She decided.
“Too soon,” a deep voice drawled. Ginger shrieked, flaying her arms and legs, splashing cool water over her hot skin. “You usually swim for another eighteen minutes and then…”
And then she lay in one of the deck chairs and masturbated. Her face heated. “You were watching.”
A match struck, lighting her neighbor’s rugged countenance. “Every damn night.” He grinned.
