Interview with A.S. Fenichel

By on May 10, 2013

I sat down (virtually) with A.S. Fenichel for a short interview. A.S. Fenichel writes steamy paranormals for Ellora’s Cave and her latest release is Kane’s Bounty.

Cynthia Sax: What makes Kane, your hero in Kane’s Bounty, sexy?

A.S. Fenichel: He’s smart, rough around the edges, honest and a bad ass. He rescues a stranger because it’s right. Okay, so I have a little crush.

Cynthia Sax: What excites you about Kane’s Bounty?

A.S. Fenichel: Kane’s Bounty deals with trust, betrayal, integrity, and of course falling in love with the wrong person. I’ll admit that I get excited when a relationship that should not work does and I love to dig around to discover why. I hope you will too.

Cynthia Sax: What is your favorite line from Kane’s Bounty?

A.S. Fenichel: It’s so hard to choose just one. This is near the beginning of the story. Keep in mind that Kane is telepathic. “If you don’t change your line of thinking, I’m going to take you right here in this plane and I would much rather wait until we are in some nice beach-side hotel with crisp white sheets and vodka in the mini-bar.“

Cynthia Sax: How does Kane’s Bounty start?

A.S. Fenichel:
Kane is a bounty hunter and Lena is the fugitive who he has tracked to a bar in Savannah, Georgia. He’s biding his time to pick her up when another bounty hunter attempts to jump in and take her. Things get out of control when the bar erupts into a big fight. A sense of panic in the room tells Kane it’s time to make his move.

Cynthia Sax: What one piece of advice would you give new writers?

A.S. Fenichel: Never ever give up and hone your craft. I guess that’s two pieces of advice, but they go hand in hand. If you’ve had rejections, don’t sweat it. Keep writing and keep submitting. All the while, make sure you’re getting better as a writer. This career is a journey not a destination. You will never be done learning how to write better. That’s what makes it the best possible job. Keep learning, keep writing and one day you will get “the call”. Then it’s champagne and chocolate for everyone.

Thank you, A.S. Fenichel, for joining us today!

Telepathic bounty hunter Kane has one rule—never get involved with a fugitive.

It’s a simple assignment with good money at the end. Picking Lena up is no problem. Protecting her when her ex-husband, mercenaries and another bounty hunter threaten her turns into the fight of their lives.

Together, the Stones of Adeline and Lena are powerful magic. She never considered the complication of the sexy bounty hunter and her undeniable desire for him. Their paranormal bond will need to be strong if they’re to survive together.
