Strike Zone is the first story chronologically in the Dauntless Cyborgs series. Every reading buddy can start with Strike Zone.
Drift Would will be the second story released (it is releasing in July) but it will overlap timewise with Claiming Cure. Drift and Cure take on a mission together…for a bit.
Grid Locked will be the fourth story released and the fourth story chronologically.
Her Choice will be the fifth story released and the fifth story chronologically.
Only Drift Would and Claiming Cure overlap.

While attending a party, Kesser, the daughter of her planet’s leader, witnesses the abduction of her best friend and her best friend’s mate.
She’s determined to rescue them. Preferably without fracturing the fragile peace agreement her mom has crafted with the abductors’ planet.

Throwback Thursday – Raw Desires
Raw Desires is a true enemies-to-lovers cyborg romance. Taytu, the human heroine, sincerely tries to kill Raw, the cyborg hero…and he likes it. (grins)
Raw is all warrior. He processes fighting and not much else. Fortunately for him, his genetic match is focused on fighting also. But not in the sexy way he projects.
Raw Desires
His human female is attempting to kill him.
This cyborg finds that adorable.
Raw, a K model cyborg, is one of the lucky warriors who has located his genetic match. He hears his human female’s voice over the communication lines and immediately processes she is his.
Winning her affections will be a greater challenge. Battle has always been Raw’s focus. The rough-and-tough warrior has no idea how to engage anyone’s tender emotions.
Fortunately, he isn’t alone in the universe. His unmatched male friends help him craft a plan.
All Raw has to do is relay a few unsettlingly sweet words to his female and give her the thoroughly unfunctional wall decoration he has obtained. He projects she will then jump into his big, strong arms and beg him to claim her.
Taytu isn’t jumping anywhere. She has one mission—kill every cyborg in existence.
The huge, handsome male traveling to meet with her is her first target. His rough hands, firm lips, and sparkling, energy-infused eyes won’t save him from her vengeance. She has trained vigorously for this moment, and she won’t fail at her assigned task.
The cyborg will die.

Investing In Asparagus
I LOVE asparagus. I grill it with some minced garlic, parmesan cheese and olive oil, then squeeze a little lemon juice on the spears before serving and it is oh so good!
Asparagus is a perennial. One of my gardening buddies and her family have been harvesting the same asparagus plants for over 25 years.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I have decided to invest in asparagus plants this year. We will dedicate a permanent place in the garden for it. And we hope to be harvesting it 25 years from now! (grins)

Muse Food – The Perfect Chocolate-Covered Strawberry
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were treated to a selection of delicious chocolate-covered strawberries.
They were different sizes. Some were tiny. Some were average sized. Some were HUGE.
And there was a reason they were supplied in different sizes.
Every size of chocolate-covered strawberry is the favorite of someone out there in the universe. There are people who prefer the tiny ones. There are people who prefer the expected size. And there are people who prefer the huge ones.
I remind myself of that when I write a story. For someone out there, it will be the perfect ‘strawberry.’ (grins)

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – April 14
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this gorgeous cat in Casablanca, Morocco. Look at how fluffy he is!
I’m expecting the second round of edits for Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in July), this week!
My Awesome Editor called one of the scenes in this story ‘poignant.’ And that’s an appropriate description for that scene. The heroine feels she will soon die and takes on a save-the-world type of mission that, she assumes, will doom her and her entire team.
I think of Drift Would as my Rogue One story. Except with a romantic happy ever after for two of the participants. (grins)

Starting Seeds
Gardening season at the Sax household has officially begun! Woot!
I’ve sowed tomato, marigold and pea plant seeds in the basement grow station. Peas, radishes, and spinach have been sowed directly in the garden as they are all cool weather plants.
My focus this year, vegetable-wise, will be tomatoes, beans, butternut squash and zucchini (courgettes). I think of these as our survival crops. The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I could likely live on them if that was necessary (we hope it is never necessary), especially as squash and bean leaves are edible (when prepared correctly).

Meg 2: The Trench And Expectations
Spoiler Alert – This post will talk about Meg 2: The Trench and will contain spoilers. If you haven’t yet watched this fun fantastical movie, you might wish to skip this post.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I recently watched Meg 2: The Trench and we both really enjoyed it. It was fun and action-packed and a bit silly in parts.
But that was great because all that was expected.
Meg 2: The Trench is an example of how to give people what they expect.
We expected huge sharks. We got huge sharks. Plural.
We expected Jason Statham in an action role. We got Jason Statham in an action-packed role.
There were the expected bad jokes and comradery and all of the beloved characters survived.
The visuals were awesome. The antics were over the top.
And there were DINOSAURS. Because the creators knew the viewers who love giant sharks also love dinosaurs.
Meg 2: The Trench was fun and that was exactly what we wanted in a movie.

Throwback Thursday – Grin And Bare Him
Grin, the cyborg hero in Grin And Bare Him, is a space architect, or rather an architect in space. He loves designing and fabricating buildings, especially homes for beings.
But in Grin And Bare Him, he has to embrace his warrior side. All cyborgs are trained warriors.
And his female needs a warrior. She has to recover something that is very special, very important to her kind.
Grin And Bare Him
This cyborg will be the warrior his female requires.
Cyborgs are manufactured to fight.
Almost all of the half organic, half mechanical warriors enjoy battle. Tremendously.
Grin, a K model, is one of the rare exceptions. When he escaped his cruel creators, he set down his weapons and allocated his processors to less-violent pursuits. He projects he’s left his war-waging planet rotations behind him forever.
Then he meets his beautiful, beguiling female—the one being he’s destined to protect, claim, love for all eternity—and his plans for peace are completely decimated.
Mohini needs a ship.
She has a dangerous mission to complete, and the first step in that assignment is arranging transport to an enemy-controlled planet. The vessel she has set her sights on is guarded by the sexiest cyborg she’s ever seen.
To gain access to his ship, Mohini is prepared to kiss, caress, and seduce the muscular male. The mission is her focus. The pleasure she experiences will merely be a bonus.
A female has to do what a female has to do to save the universe.

Does Writing Get Easier?
I’m often asked by newer writers if writing stories gets easier.
The brutal answer to that question is…
No. It doesn’t get easier.
Especially if we’re pushing ourselves as writers.
There’s always a new story challenge. There’s always research to complete. Every story is different and comes with its own unique issues.
There’s also the added challenge of ensuring our characters and plots and scenes are unique after having we’ve written a few hundred stories.
Stars. Ensuring sex scenes or battle scenes are unique and special is brutally difficult. I’ve written at least 1,000 sex scenes. I could produce a Kama Sutra-style collection of all the sex scenes I’ve written. You want fun with pineapples? I’ve written a scene like that. (laughs)
Anyhoo…writing is the best job in the world but it doesn’t get any easier.

A cyborg devoted to duty…and to her.

While attending a party, Kesser, the daughter of her planet’s leader, witnesses the abduction of her best friend and her best friend’s mate.

Neither Strike nor Kesser realizes the dangers facing them are far greater than they imagine. Their enemies are converging, and one failed mission could doom the entire universe.
